Floral Fashionista Corset Gift Box...

Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening,
depending on where you are reading this!
I'm so glad you're able to stop by my little spot in blogland!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends!
It's hard to believe that it is over so quickly, isn't it!
Did you get any crafty items that you had on your wish list?
I hope there were a few Heartfelt Creations items under the tree for you!

Well, it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and this week I have some quick and easy packaging I want to share with you!

Are you familiar with the gift/jewelry boxes that you can purchase at your local dollar store.
They are usually white in color and are blank with no design...so you can decorate them in any way you wish!
Well, I just couldn't resist sprucing one up with the Floral Fashionista Collection!

...here's how it turned out...

I am so in love with how this came together!
If you've followed me for awhile, you know that I always feel bad when giving someone a gift card!
This totally makes me feel better about gifting someone a gift card!

I chose a background paper and matted it onto the box cover, trimming is just slightly smaller than the box. I then added a delicate lace like die cut to the top and bottom of the matting.
I actually used one of the pocket accent dies from the Decorative Pocket Accents die and trimmed it to fit!

For the coloring, I've used my Zig Color Clean Real Brush Markers and a watercolor brush. Watercoloring is perfect for this feminine collection as it gives it such a soft feel. In this creation, I chose to watercolor a little more darkly, as I wanted that corset to be a little more brightly colored.

The flowers I have stamped in Ranger Archival Ink - Magenta Hue and Majestic Violet, and have inked their petal tips in the same color after they have been die cut with the coordinating die.
Then, shaping was quick and EZ with the coordinating 3D Petite Florals Flower Shaping Mold!

...here's a closer look at this beautiful corset image and darling florals...

I hope I've inspired you today and that you've fallen in love with the Floral Fashionista Collection as I have! It's just so perfect for so many different occasions!

Be sure to pop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog as the rest of the design team have created a wonderful assortment of projects for your viewing pleasure!

Until next time...

Project Supplies and Instructions

Other Products: gift card/jewelry gift box, Big Shot die cutting machine, scissors, foam tape, paper trimmer, water, mixed media paper, white card stock

For more tips on creating with the Floral Fashionista Collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/9V6JOqdQtC8.

Select a piece of decorative background paper from the Floral Fashionista Paper Collection. Trim just slightly smaller than the size of gift box you have selected.

Using the small die within the Decorative Pocket Accents Die and die cutting machine, cut two accent die cuts. Using scissors, trim off pocket openings on each, and apply to top and bottom of background paper.

Locate sentiment strip shown on sample. Trim to fit on background as shown. Adhere background paper to gift box.

Stamp dress form and corset images onto a mixed media or water color paper using Ranger Archival Ink – Jet Black. Water color using Zig Color Clean Real Brush Markers and water brush. Once dry, die cut using coordinating dies and assemble as shown. Place dimensional foam tape on back.

Stamp one inking of each size florals within the Floral Fashionista Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using both Ranger Archival Ink – Majestic Purple and Magenta Hue. Die cut using coordinating dies. Ink all tips of the florals using the same ink color they were stamped in. Shape using flower shaping mold and Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Assemble several flowers as double blossoms, and leave some as single blooms.

Stamp one inking of the lilac swirls from the Lush Lilac Cling Stamp Set and Sweet Lilac Scroll and Notes Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using Ranger Archival Ink – Fern Green. Color using Stack and Store Daubers using Ranger Archival Ink – Fern Green and Majestic Violet. Die cut using coordinating dies. Shape slightly using Deluxe Flower Shaping Tools. Snip the largest lilac swirl into half.

Adhere dress form image to gift box. Adhere the half lilac swirl with larger blossoms behind top of dress form as shown. Adhere other half of lilac swirl to opposite side of dress form as shown. Adhere smallest lilac swirl to bottom of dress form on the side showcasing the sentiment strip. Adhere petite florals to gift box as shown in sample.

Lastly, using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive, apply Crystal Clear Glitter to sleeves and bottom of corset, Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter to flowers and lilac swirls, and Gilt Trip Prills to flower centers.

C'mon in to Mushroom Manor...

Welcome to new release day with Heartfelt Creations!
Allow us to introduce to you the "Winking Frog" Collection!
It's sooooo cute!
I really need to put you on high alert as I think this collection will sell out quickly!
Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations online store to snatch yours up early!

Anyhoo...here's a little more about the Winking Frogs...

Don your rubber boots, grab your field glasses and come along as we set out to explore picturesque marshes filled with dazzling water florals, glistening dragonflies, miniature forests of cattails and flourishing crops of toadstools! Walk softly and  be aware of your surroundings at all times as the delightful gems we seek are not always easily seen and blend in with their surroundings perfectly.  Pause and listen carefully as the only clues we have to follow, leading us to our destination are the soft and throaty croaks filling the cool evening air.  Follow the quick flickering of the lightning bugs as dusk begins to fall, being careful to not be seen in their shadows.  Now...grab your field glasses...we've discovered the habitat we've been so curious about! Through your field glasses you see them...you have a front row seat to witness their fun and frolic, entertaining antics and flirtatious ways, and can only hope to eventually be invited in to make their acquaintances and join in the laughter and merriment!  Come along side Heartfelt Creations as we discover and reveal the amusing and spirited "Winking Frog" Collection.  Vintage inspired illustrations will bring back memories of classic childhood story books, quick witted sentiments will add a touch of fun, and the serene and calming color palette of the collection is sure to speak to the heart of everyone who ventures here.  The invitation has been sent to join in on the high jinks, so now it's your turn to dive in...try your hand at creating beautiful water florals, hop from lily pad to lily pad on handsome decorative paper, play hide and seek with glorious die cuts and with the little polliwogs among the weeds and cattails....now aren't you glad you listened and wore your rubber boots!

The first thing I thought of when I saw this collection were old fashioned children's books, wedding announcements and a fun toadstool gift box!  It's the latter that I decided to go with to premiere this adorable collection!

Here's a peek...

I wanted this gift box to be something extra special....lots of sparkle, so it looked like something magical out of a fairy tale.  I actually envisioned this as a fun engagement ring presentation.  Imagine receiving your ring from your prince in this fairy tale container!  LOL  Those two wide eyed frogs in love sitting under their own toadstool being "croaked" to by the fiddle'n frog in the front yard of their mushroom manor!  LOL

Here's a closer look...

...and of course one has to include water lilies and lily pads to this swamp style creation...all with a visiting dragon fly...

...and as these close up photos show you, I was completely serious about having this gift box sparkle...

I do hope you've enjoyed my share today!
I hope you've been completely inspired to create a magical fairy tale creation yourself with the new Winking Frog Collection!  Wouldn't it be completely adorable paired up with the owls of Sugar Hollow?  LOL

The rest of the design team has come up with some magical creations of their own!  So be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog to continue your hunt for the Winking Frogs!

Until next time...

Sweet Sugar Hollow Valentine Gift Box...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening...
depending on wherever you find yourself reading this post this today.

This Wednesday over at Heartfelt Creations, we are continuing our tour through
Now, when I first got to see the preview of this collection, the first thing I thought to myself was that this would be the cutest collection to use for Valentine's Day creations!

I decided to create a little heart shaped gift box that one could easily use for chocolates, candies, socks, etc. for that special someone that you would like to surprise.

Here's how the little heart shaped box turned out...

I've used the patterned paper from the collection, and as you can see the inside is just as pretty looking as the outside.  An SVG cutting file cut with my Silhouette Cameo made this a quick and easy project!  I've then used my manual die cutting machine to cut the decorative heart using white card stock and the Timeless Amour Die by Heartfelt Creations.  I've colored the owl image, stamped the sentiment and added some flowers and leafy swirls to complete the project.

Here's a closer peek...

I do hope I've inspired you today to create a special gift box for your special loved one!
Also, be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see what the rest of the design team have been up to in Sugar Hollow!

December Release with Heartfelt Creations...

Hello!
How are your Christmas preparations coming along?
I have finally started some holiday baking and there are a few wrapped gifts under the tree...and only a few more to purchase!  The lack of snow and unseasonably high temperatures have made it a little hard to get into the Christmas frame of mind this year.  I never thought I'd say it, but I'd take a little sprinkling of snow right about now!  LOL

For those of you who have already seen the sneak peek up on the Heartfelt Creations blog, you know that the new collection is none other than the "Coffee Talk" Collection.  The color palette and illustrations are amazing.

Here's a little about the collection...

It's the beverage that starts our mornings, chases our mid day slumps away, and in the evenings has us gather around the table to enjoy and partake in laughter and light hearted banter, to share treasured memories and deepest dreams and to encourage one another in meaningful friendships...and now we invite you to our table to warm your hands, hearts and souls with the fresh brewed designs of the Coffee Talk Collection by Heartfelt Creations!  Capture and relive those precious moments spent around the kitchen table, or favorite cafe with family and friends shared over the simple pleasure of a cup of  coffee, latte, or cappuccino.  The charming and delightful illustrations of coffee mugs, barista style chalkboard  sentiments and gorgeous patterns in variations of blues, creams and mochas are the perfect blend to get your creative senses percolating, and will allow you to espresso your style perfectly!  The delectable card fronts and dreamy patterned scrapbook pages are splendid for sending well wishes or for displaying those fun and silly selfies taken in the back corner of your favorite coffee shop with your inner circle of friends!  Whether you enjoy your cuppa java black, with cream, milk or sugar, instant or made from freshly ground coffee beans, the Coffee Talk Collection will provide you with the perfect fusion of flavors for all of your paper crafting concoctions.

I decided that I wanted to create a coffee themed gift box and came across the perfect SVG cutting file at SVG Cuts.  It holds one package of coffee beautifully!

Here's how the project turned out...

I created a folded gift tag in the shape of a coffee cup using one of the stamps and dies from the collection. (A video tutorial is available on how to create a shaped card or tag, and I've put that link into the instructions below.)  I've colored it using distress markers and then hung the tag from the handle using gold cord which I've looped around the box lid several times.  The stacked tea cup image I have fussy cut from the paper collection and added it to the front of the gift box.  Not a hard project at all...but it sure does make a nice presentation!

The design team has really outdone themselves this week again, so be sure to stop by the HC blog for more of a caffeine fix.  The ideas they've brewed up are amazing!
Also, I suspect that this collection is going to be very popular already having seen the comments and delight from the sneak peek last week....so be sure to stop by the HC online store and pick up your "I Want It All Kit" before they disappear!

Until next time...

Graphic 45 Card Set

Hello Everyone!

I'm back today with a blog post for Scrapbooks by Design!
I have to admit I wasn't sure what to create for this blog post...I've recently started working with my husband full time in our SnapOn business and my creative juices have been somewhat stiffled with being on the truck everyday!  LOL

So...I got to thinking about the end of the school year which is quickly coming to a close here at the end of the month in Manitoba, Canada and decided to go with a end of year teachers gift idea.
I dug through my paper collections and stumbled upon Graphic 45's "ABC Primer".
Perfection!
I decided that a boxed card set would be something useful and not clutter up these wonderful educators homes.  I'm sure they have plenty of mugs and trinkets hiding in closets from all their years of teaching.  I browsed the Silhouette Design Store and came up with a gift box that I just loved...and got to work!

Here's a look at the final outcome...

...and here's a peek at how the gift box opens and how the cards lay inside...

Now when you use the same collection for everything, the projects just about build themselves!  LOL
I made 5 cards to include in the box and they came together so quickly!

Here they are...

The matching stickers and chipboard pieces included in this Graphic 45 Collector's Edition make it so simple to embellish quickly and have everything looking great!

Well, that all for me today!  Remember that you can purchase this fantastic collection for a limited time at Scrapbooks by Design!  They also carry the wonderful Silhouette Cameo which made creating this gift box soooo easy!

I'd love to hear what you think about this little gift set idea!
If you have a "go to" crafty gift idea that you bless the teachers in your child(ren)'s lives I love to hear about it!

Until next time...

Wedding Presentation Box

Have you ever walked through the dollar store and found something that you were drawn to and felt you needed to alter it to give it some extra pizazz?  That's exactly what I thought as I was walking through the small bridal section and spotted a gift presentation box set.  The set contained three small jewelry sized boxes and just sat there begging to be fancied up a bit!

Well...and since it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday today...you know where I'm going with this don't you!  LOL
You can make anything pretty with the Heartfelt Creations touch!
So I set about to giving one of those sad white little boxes a new lease on life...a little tissue paper, embossing powder, some fantastic die cuts and flowers....

...and voila...

I decided to go with a lace and rose theme for this creation.
(Stick with me and I'll share a quick tutorial with you on how I achieved that lace look on the box with tissue paper, stamped images and heat embossing!)
Wedding season is just around the corner and I thought it would be great to create something a little different for your presentation cheque or gift card.

Believe it or not, most of this project has been created with the "Cascading Fuchsia" collection.  The "I Want it All Kit" has sold out, however you can still grab all these fabulous items individually.  The gorgeous decorative oval die is an absolute must have...it's so elegant!  And, the fuchsia stamps and dies are ones that you will never be sorry you have in your collection.  The roses on this gift box have actually been created with the fuchsia stamps and dies!  (I've included a link to a Heartfelt tutorial on shaping roses in my instructions at the end of this blog post...and while the die may be different...the technique is the same!)

Here's a close up look at the roses...

I love how the white embossing powder pulls out the veining in the fuchsia stamp and makes them look so elegant!  And a touch of tulle and some pearls were just the perfect finishing bridal elements!

Now, I promised you a quick tutorial on how I achieved that look of lace on the box...it's not a new technique by any means...but it's pretty quick and simple but looks fantastic once it's done!
I so wish I'd had time to work on a matching card, because this technique would look so awesome on a matching card as well.

On with the tutorial..

Cut your tissue paper a bit larger than the size of the lid you're wishing to cover.  Make sure you have enough to wrap around all sides both inside and outside.  Using a white ink, stamp the fuchsia image onto the tissue paper...sprinkle with embossing powder and heat emboss.  Then repeat as many times as necessary to fill the background of your tissue paper.

Here's a photo of what your finished tissue paper will look like...

...next you will need to crumple this tissue paper up ...that's what gives you the beautiful texture later when you apply the tissue paper to the box...

....next you'll have to reopen the tissue paper gently, being careful to resist the urge to smooth it out...you'll want all those wrinkles...

You are now ready to apply the tissue paper with Modge Podge and a foam brush...you will just need a thin layer of the glue...

...begin with applying Modge Podge to just the top of the box and set your tissue paper onto the glue.  Try not to smooth out the paper, but rather pat it down so you keep the creases in the paper.

Make sure that it is adhered everywhere and then move along to the long outside edges of the box. Moving along to the short ends, tuck the corners in as you do when wrapping a present and then add a touch more glue over the folds and adhere the tissue paper.  If your tissue is uneven now when you have all the outer sides covered, trim so the tissue is basically the same length all the way around.  This will leave you with the neatest finish inside the box as possible.  Again, starting with the longest sides on the inside, apply glue and then adhere tissue to sides.  Proceed with all edges.  Now, I had a bit of glue squish onto the bottom of the inside, so I cut a piece of white card stock just slightly smaller than the size of the lid and then adhered it to the in
side of the lid to cover up any glue overage that may appear.

You now have a pretty, lace look gift box that you can embellish any way you choose...for really any occasion you choose!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope I've been able to inspire you today!
For more fantastic inspiration, be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations blog!

And...psssttt...I have another Heartfelt Creations blog post coming tomorrow featuring another any occasion card!  So stay tuned!

Until next time...

Other Products Used:  small gift box, Stampin Up White ink, Zing white embossing powder, Modge Podge, white tissue paper, white card stock, Stampin Up pearls, BigShot die cutting machine, heat tool, white tule, sponge paint brush, water, water mist bottle, Elmer's Spray adhesive

Cut a piece of white tissue paper larger than the box cover you will be covering.  Starting at the edge of the tissue paper begin stamping the chosen image (I have used the swirl fuchsia image from the Fuchsia Clusters Cling Stamp Set) onto the tissue paper with white ink.  Once you have stamped the image, cover with white embossing powder, shake off and then heat emboss.  Repeat this step until you have your pattern completely covering the tissue paper. Next, crumple tissue paper into a ball.  Straighten out slightly, however do not smooth our wrinkles.  Apply a thin layer of Modge Podge to the top of the box cover and adhere the patterned tissue paper over top making sure to have enough overhang to cover the outer and inner edges.  Next adhere Modge Podge to the longest sides of the box and adhere tissue paper.  For the shorter edges of the box, apply Modge Podge to the sides and fold tissue paper edges as though you were gift wrapping a present.  Trim overhang tissue paper to be close to the same size as possible all around the box for as clean a look as possible for the inner edges of the box.  Apply Modge Podge to each edge and fold tissue paper inside.  Measure the dimensions of your gift box and cut a small white piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the measurement.  Adhere this piece of card stock to the inside top of the box to hide any messy mechanics that may have happened during brushing on the Modge Podge.  Set aside cover to dry completely.  Next using a manual die cutting machine cut one decorative oval.  Using a spray adhesive, apply to top cover of gift box.  Die cut two vining floral corners from the Cut Mat Create 2B die and apply one full die cut to one corner and set aside the second die cut to use later.  Stamp the Cascading Fuchsia cling stamp set several times and heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Die cut using the Cascading Fuchsia die.  Using the Deluxe Flower shaping kit along with some water mist, create three roses varying in size.  For a tutorial on shaping roses please see here.  Adhere a small piece of tulle to the corner where you have already applied the vining corner.  Adhere two roses among the tulle.  Going back to the second vining corner die cut, using a scissor, trim into smaller sections.  Adhere the third rose to the opposite corner of the floral cluster.  Adhere the smaller vining sections around the single rose.  Using white ink, stamp the two leaves from the Botanical Rose Cling Stamp Set, and once again heat emboss using white embossing powder.  Add leaves to the floral cluster.  Lastly, add small pearls to the centre of each intricate design in the decorative oval and larger pearls to each of the flower centres in the vining die cuts.  Bring on the wedding season...your presentation is sure to stand out in this beautiful gift box which will be treasured for years.

Oh Baby!

Hi There!
Nice to visit with you today!

I'm back to share with you that we have a new challenge starting over at Unstampabelles Challenge blog today!
It's a super cute and fun theme...

"Oh Baby"

....you can make something for a baby, you can incorporate baby animals, or simply interpret the theme the way you see fit...just explain to us in your blog post how it fits our theme.
As you know, we always include a twist in our challenge, and for this month we are welcoming you to create something in a more non traditional style.
And a quick reminder that your project cannot have any stamping on it...we want you to think outside the box and come up with a creation that has not been touched by a stamp!

Now I have to admit that I had a hard time trying to think of something non traditional.
The best my creative mind would come up with was a gift box for a baby mini album I've been working on.  (Mini album will preview here on April 10 should you want to see what's going into the box!)  Oh, I suppose as a stretch, I could say that my non traditional style for this project would be that I've actually used cutesy baby paper...instead of my usual vintage styled paper lines.  I never use cutesy paper packs so this was interesting and fun!  LOL

Here's a look at how the gift box came out...

I really enjoyed working with this paper line!
It really did lend itself well to create a cute gift box!

But, before I go....let me remind you that you can get all the deets about the prize and sponsorship happening for this challenge on the Unstampabelles blog!

One lucky winner will be awarded this adorable baby onesie die...(adhesive just pictured to show size of die and is not included)

Remember that you have the entire month of April to complete this task should you choose to participate!  I hope I've encouraged you to give it a go!

Until next time...

This project has been shared in the following challenges...
Come and Get It..."and Baby Makes 3 or More"
Crafts 4 Eternity..."Baby Baby"
