Sweet Peony Card Classes...

Welcome!
I have something exciting to share with you today!
It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday...and while I didn't have time to create a project this week, I'd love to share with you the cards that I have designed for my upcoming Sweet Peony card classes at the Scrapbook Cottage locations - both in Winnipeg and Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada!

In each of these classes we will be completing all three card designs shown here on the blog today!
We will be learning how to create these beautiful peonies using the 3D Flower Basics Shaping Mold from Heartfelt Creations. They make flower shaping super quick and easy on the hands!
We'll also explore the art of adding beautiful flower stamen centers to your flowers which gives them a super realistic look!

Seating is limited and spots fill very quickly, so I encourage you to give Kathy a call at the Winnipeg Store, or Sharon a call at the Steinbach store to register today!
I'll post all of the class info below as well as the store numbers for easy access.

Lastly, here's the dates and info for the Sweet Peony Card Classes!

Thinking of You Today...

Welcome!
How are you doing today?
Here in Manitoba, Canada we're getting ready for spring!
I can't wait for the birds to return, to hear their sweet songs of spring and to get puttering in my flower bed!
I suppose it's these feelings that led me to create a springtime scene with the beautiful Sweet Peony Collection!

Here's a peek at my creation for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday...

I just love the springtime vibes this card gives off!
Those beautiful birdies nesting in their home, the pretty white picket fence!
I couldn't resist adding the bird on the branch from the Singing in the Rain Collection to the top upper corner of the creation!

I wanted to give the card a feminine feeling so I opted to use two of the Delicate Border Basics dies...I nested them together to create two single embellishments and then trimmed them to fit the frame I created using the Cut Mat Create dies.

I chose to make a large peony flower, and I've placed the dimensional blossom on the larger peony flower die cut from the Peony Bud and Blossom Cling Stamp Set. I love the way it makes the flower look even larger and love how those background petals give a nice spread to the blossom!

Here's a closer peek at the peony flower...

I've added some dew drops to give the peony a fresh spring look, and all of the small white accent flowers have been created using the smaller peony petal pieces. They've been heat embossed with white embossing powder, and I've then heat embossed some embossing enamel onto them for some character! I've added white prills to their centers to finish them off.
A sprinkling of glitter to the peony petal tips and the preprinted image on the main focal point image, along with a few Nuvo drops around the sentiment and this card was complete!

I do hope you've been inspired and have enjoyed what you've seen here today!
Be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to take in the other beautiful projects the rest of the design team have created for your viewing pleasure!

Until next time...

Create a 6” x 6” card base from white card stock. Locate decorative 6” x 6” card panel for background as shown. Trim down slightly smaller than card base, ink all edges using ColorBox Dahlia Ink, and adhere to card base.

Locate and cut out small premade card base with bird house and birds as shown. Using the coordinating die in the Cut Mat Create 1A collection, die cut center image. Ink all edges of the frame and die cut image using ColorBox Dahlia Ink. Using MISTI tool, stamp sentiment from Raindrop Sentiments Cling Stamp Set onto image panel. Adhere image panel to card base using adhesive.

Locate the two matching decorative die cuts in the Delicate Border Basics Dies. Position the two dies back to back onto white card stock so that they will cut together to create one embellishment. To do this easily, position them together and use painters tape to secure them to the card stock. Trim and add to frame from which you cut out the bird image. Adhere frame to card base over top bird image using pop dots.

Stamp the bird on branch image from the Songs of Spring Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using VersaFine Black In. Die cut using the coordinating die. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color the image using ColorBox Creamy Brown ink for branch, Ranger Archival Inks – Leaf Green and Olive for leaves and Memento Inks – Danube Blue and Potter’s Clay for bird. Shape slightly using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and adhere to card front as shown.

Stamp two inkings of the petals from the Large Sweet Peony Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using ColorBox Dahlia Ink. Stamp one inking of the largest flower base from the Peony Bud and Blossom Cling Stamp Set. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color all pieces using ColorBox Berrylicious and Memento Peanut Brittle inks. Die cut using coordinating dies. Repeat coloring process on back of die cut images. Ink all petal tips with ColorBox Dahlia ink. Shape peony petals using 3D Floral Basics Shaping Mold. For full instructions on how to shape the peony flower using mold, please see video listed in link above. Finish shaping process using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Layer two largest petal pieces together and then the smaller petal pieces in the center to form bud using hot glue gun to ensure a quick bond. Adhere peony flower to card as shown.

Stamp one inking of all leaves from Large and Small Peony Cling Stamp Sets onto white card stock using Ranger Archival Olive Ink. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color leaves with Ranger Archival Leaf Green ink and then die cut using coordinating dies. Ink all edges of all leaves using Ranger Archival Olive Ink. Adhere leaves around peony blossom on card front as shown.

Stamp one inking of each of the smallest petal pieces from the Small Sweet Peony Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set using heat tool.  With fingers, sprinkle Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel onto petal pieces and heat set from the underside of the card stock until embossing enamel has melted. Die cut using coordinating dies. Send petal pieces through flower shaping mold. Finish shaping using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Create two double blossoms by nesting one smaller peony petal piece into larger peony petal piece. Adhere around large peony as shown. Adhere small single peony flowers to create cluster as shown.

For finishing touches add white Minnie Pearls Prills to white flower centers, and Heart of Gold Prills to large Peony Center. Apply Baby’s Breath Glitter to large peony petals as well as preprinted focal image using a dries clear glue and metal tip for adhesive bottles. Apply Ivory Seashell Nuvo Drops to card base as shown.

Introducing the Sweet Peony Collection...

Hello, Hello, Hello!
I'm so glad to see you!

Today marks another new release with Heartfelt Creations....we're introducing the Sweet Peony Collection!

Let me share with you a little bit about it...

Sweetly fragranced, and delicately airy, the graceful peony flower is a breathtaking and dreamy blossom that calls a quiet attention to itself! Lush foliage filled plants bursting forth with tightly wound flower buds among softly ruffled blossoms bring with them a hint of old fashioned romance and delight! Join Heartfelt Creations as we stroll through beautiful peony filled gardens in the new Sweet Peony Collection! Pause, linger and refresh your soul as you amble through a paper collection filled with delightful peony flowers in happy hues of angelic pinks and dark burgundies, set among a refreshing array of leafy greens, sky blues, and sunshine yellows! Soft swirls, gorgeous stripes, and dainty lace like accents come together to create pleasing backdrops for bold peony blossoms, chipping birds and divine window scenes! Three coordinating cling stamp set and die combinations bring the luscious peony flower to the forefront of this gorgeous collection. An assortment of varying sized peony petals and foliage die cut pieces work together to create dimensional and dynamic peony blossoms ready to captivate and take center stage on card fronts, scrapbook layouts and altered art pieces! So, breathe deep, drink in the sweetness of the peony blossoms, and feel free to linger awhile as we take in the gentle beauty of the Sweet Peony Collection!

When we purchased our yard almost 23 years ago now, I discovered I had inherited a large peony bush in the garden!  At first I was thrilled with this luscious plant and it's beautiful bountiful blossoms...until it became completely covered in ants! This tale did not end well for my peony plant...I opted to get rid of it because the ant problem was just too awful! LOL
I did have to chuckle when I saw the release images for this collection, as my first thought was...but where are the ants?  You will be happy to know that I am still a fan of the peony flower...I just admire them in different gardens than my own! As a matter of fact, I am still enough of a fan that my blog headers and watermarks have all been designed with the gorgeous peony flower!

But now, on with the show!
The paper collection in this new release is absolutely breathtaking!
I knew right away that I wanted some of the gorgeous papers to stand alone and take a more center stage appearance in my card creation!

Here's what I came up with...

I fell in love with the background 6" x 6" premade card panel and didn't want to cover too much of it up! It reminds me of beautiful old fashioned wall paper!

To keep the look of the card light, I opted to die cut the delicate die cuts from white card stock and layer them behind the circle focal point which I die cut from another premade card panel.

I decided I would do a two tone peony flower....which you will see, being the most full blossom closest to the bottom, and also created a tighter bud and smaller accent flower with these colors as well.  I then thought I would create some lighter colored accent flowers from the smallest peony blossoms, as well as one mid sized more loosely ruffled peony. I've added stamen centers to each of the lighter peony flowers, and although you can't see it in the photo, I've added gold prills to the centers of the multi tone peony blossoms.

Here's a closer look at the flower cluster...

The largest flower has been created with three layers each of the largest peony blossoms, while the mid sized light pink peony has been created using two of each of the mid sized layers...so as you can see, you can create a variety of looks depending on whether you want a tighter blossom or a more airy look.

For the finishing touches, I've used a light pink transparent glitter on all of the shaped peony flowers, as well as the preprinted images in the center circular focal point. I've added some Nuvo drops in an Ivory Pearl color around the sentiment to complete the look. I think this creation turned out just charming...and I hope you agree!

Well, that's all for me today!
I hope you're enjoyed and been inspired with what I've shared with you!

Cut two of the decorative accent die cuts from the Festive Holly Die using die cutting machine and white card stock. Adhere to card base as shown. Adhere eyelet circle focal point to card base as shown using dimensional pop dots.

Stamp three inkings of the largest peony blossom petals, as well as one inking of the largest peony and bud images from the Peony Bud and Blossom Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using Magenta Hue Archival Ink. Stamp two inkings of the rest of the varying sized peony blossoms. Color using Stack and Store Daubers with ColorBox Cheeky and Memento Peanut Brittle. Die cut using coordinating dies and then ink petal tips lightly with Madder Rose Archival Ink. Shape flowers using 3D Basics Floral Shaping Mold. For full instructions on how to shape the Sweet Peony flower using the mold, please see video link above. Color peony bud and stamped floral image using same color combination as pieces for dimensional blossoms as well as Olive Archival Ink for leaf accents.

Create one large peony blossom using three layers of each of the largest peony petals. Create one peony bud using four of the mid sized peony petal pieces. Lastly, create one small blossom using three of the smaller peony petal pieces. Shape stamped peony image slightly using flower shaping kit, and adhere large peony blossom to stamped peony image.

Stamp several inkings of the varying sizes of peony leaves onto white card stock using Olive Green Archival Ink. Coloring using Fern Green and Leaf Green Archival Inks. Cut using coordinating dies and then ink around edges using Olive Archival Ink. Shape using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

Stamp two or three inkings of the small and mid sized peony blossoms onto white card stock using Memento Desert Sand Ink. Using Stack and Store Daubers, apply a light coloring of ColorBox Cheeky Ink. Cut using coordinating dies, and shape using Basics Flower Shaping Mold. Create one mid sized Peony using two layers of each of the mid sized peony petal pieces. Apply flower stamens to center. Take seven of the smallest peony flowers and two of the next size up, shape using shaping kit and adhere flower stamens to centers.

Adhere large peony flower to card bottom as shown. Shape peony bud stamped image slightly and adhere up alongside of the card. Adhere dimensional peony bud over top peony bud stamped image. Adhere lighter pink peony just under bud and the smallest of the dimensional peonies beside it. Adhere leaves into floral cluster in empty areas. Next add in small accent flowers where desired.

For finishing touches, create gold loopy bow and adhere among flowers as shown. Glitter all dimensional flowers, and preprinted images on the eyelet circle focal point using a dries clear glue and Baby’s Breath Ultrafine Transparent Glitter. Apply Nuvo Drops around sentiment as shown.
