Festive Handmade Christmas Tag...

Happy Wednesday!
How are you today?
I'm so glad you're here and we get to spend some time together!

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! Yay!
This week I have a quick and easy Christmas tag to share with you!

Here's my project...

I love love love this little birdhouse image, and I'd never had a chance to use it yet! Did you know it's a limited edition that was an add on to the Festive Holly Collection? It was only available through Craft and Create TV however, now you can find it in the Limited Editions section in the Heartfelt Creations Online Store...and it is currently priced as at a special savings!

I've opted to cut the largest arrow from the Arrows and Banners Die from kraft card stock! I just love kraft and I simply don't use it often enough! I've then chosen some decorative paper from the Festive Holly Collection and die cut an arrow two sizes down to use as a mat on the larger arrow. I've adhered the two together, and as you can see, I've snipped off the point of the arrows to create a tag shape! I've then used a hydra sponge to add some Versamark ink lightly around portions of the kraft tag and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat set it to give it a nice shimmer effect.

Moving along! I've stamped the birdhouse, one inking of each of the holly images from the Festive Holly and Cardinals cling stamp set that don't contain the cardinals onto a white bristol smooth card stock as I was wanting to try out my new Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. Did you know they can be used straight on the paper and then blended together like Copic markers...or you can use them as a water color marker with a water brush for a softer feel. I chose to do the first option this go round.

After coloring all of the images and die cutting them using the coordinating die, I die cut two of the snowflakes from the Arianna Lace Die and glittered them using Designer Dries Clear Glue and metal glue tip, along with Rajni Chawla's Frosting Powder! You can't create any Christmas project without that Frosting Powder...it's just not complete!

I then started assembling the decorative elements on the tag. The two snowflake die cuts created the background base....while the bird house image has been popped off the tag using dimensional pop dots. I've then shaped and adhered the holly leaves around and behind the birdhouse.

I then stamped a sentiment from the Winter's Eve Collection onto white card stock using black ink, and then cut it out using the arrow from the Cut Mat Create 1B Die. I finished it with a hint of gold ink around all of the edges and adhered it to the tag!

I went back in with my sponge and embossing powder to add a little gold shimmer on a few places on the birdhouse and also used some Dries Clear Adhesive to adhere some Crystal Transparent Glitter to the berries and holly leaves. Some beautiful Christmas ribbon finished off the project nicely...or so I thought.

Now I am a huge fan of those adorable tiny clothes pins you can find at the local dollar store. Well, I scored some in some Christmas colors and thought they would be perfect to hold the tag in place on a little gift bag I had purchased! I couldn't resist giving it the Heartfelt Creations touch though...I had to add a mini poinsettia with holly leaves! I think it's the most adorable thing!

I do hope you've enjoyed my share today!
Since I've basically walked you through the instructions, I won't bore you by adding them down below...however I have added links to the items I have used throughout this blog post for you convenience!

Until next time....

Announcing the Winter's Eve Collection...

Welcome to my blog!
I'm so glad you're here!
What have you been up to lately?
As I schedule this post we are in the midst of a crazy heat wave and there are severe thunderstorm warnings and heat warnings all over the place!
It's kinda humorous to be working on Christmas cards during all this summer heat!  LOL

As you know, it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
This week we're releasing the new Winter's Eve Collection!
It's another beautiful winter/holiday assembling!

Here's a little more about it...

Celebrate the more simple side of the holiday season, and add a touch of nostalgia and wonder to all of your holiday themed greeting cards, scrapbook layouts and altered art pieces with the new Winter’s Eve Collection by Heartfelt Creations. Reminisce Christmas blessings from years gone by with a tranquil collection featuring an array of illustrations bringing back memories of silent nights by candlelight, choir voices resonating from the little church in the wildwood, woodland creatures foraging for food beneath the glistening snow, windows illuminated with the soft glow of a warming fireplace, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees ready to engage the imagination and excitement of little boys and girls eager to see what lies beneath them on Christmas morning! A charming and peaceful paper collection delivering a color palette of icy blues, pine greens, poinsettia pinks, berry reds and frosty whites filled with decorative elements including delicate swirls, subtle checks, bold stripes, dainty florals and lace like accents will whisk you away to a peaceful winter wonderland overwhelming your heart with the comfort and joy of the season! Three wintry themed cling stamp sets along with coordinating dies bring a further touch of simplicity to the season with bouquets of petite flowers and foliage, an old fashioned sled and a window frame with dimensional box ideal for creating warm and inviting scenes featuring a beautifully illustrated candle arrangement, Christmas tree or glowing fireplace. Three intricate and ornamental dies lend themselves beautifully to creating breathtaking decorative die cuts for accenting all of your winter wishes. Come along with us as we set the scene for a tranquil winter’s eve and a happy holiday season!

I chose to use the small window box die cut on my first card featuring this pretty collection.
I thought a winter floral box would be so adorable paired up with one of the pre printed card images featuring a glowing fireplace and the window die cut.

Here's how the project turned out...

I've used a 6"x6" preprinted card panel as the base for this creation.  I've added some VersaMark ink to the edges and then added a mixture of embossing powder and glitter and then sprinkled it on and heat embossed it giving the card and aged look with some texture!

Here's a closer look at the dimension of the piece...

I think a window box idea is such a unique and different element to add to a Christmas card, don't you?  It's sure to stand out among the rest of the cards received during the holiday season!
I love those snow covered branches mixed with just a few of the last florals remaining after a first snow fall!

I added several of the smaller Sparkling Poinsettias to complete the look as I wanted to tie in the poinsettia background images.  And, of course I couldn't resist having a bird sitting nearby being such the bird lover I am!

...and here's another close up view...

Isn't that fireplace scene so cool in the window?
I didn't have time to color the stamped image of the scene, so I opted to use one of the premade card panels which made it quick and easy to get that look of peeking inside from the outdoors!

Well, that's all for me today!
I hope you've enjoyed the project I've shared with you today!
Be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to take in the amazing projects the rest of the design team have created!

Take care, and enjoy getting a jump on all of your holiday creating!

Until next time...

Santa Pants Gift Bag...

Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus....
Right down Santa Claus Lane...
and he's dressed a little differently this year!

Welcome!
I'm so glad you're here!
I have a treat for you today in my new and updated version of a hip and happening Santa Pants
gift bag!  LOL
I've used the Festive Holly Collection by Heartfelt Creations along with the Sparkling Poinsettia stamp and die set from several years ago.
Are you ready to see how Santa's new tailor designed his newest pair of pants?

I can't tell you how much fun I had creating these!
I can't decide though if these are Santa's dress pants or his pajama pants!  LOL
I love the foiled paper in the Festive Holly Collection and thought it would make such a fun "material" for the gift bag. I chose to fussy cut from one of the decorative papers in the collection to give the bottom of the pant legs some pizzaz.  The cardinals, along with the holly and berries I thought were perfect for something Father Christmas would wear!

Here's a closer peek at the fussy cut images I've used on the bottoms of the leg wear...

Of course, Santa would be sporting the traditional Christmas flower on his best fancy attire!
I chose to use the Sparkling Poinsettia flower which was released by Heartfelt Creations several years ago.  I never tire of that stamp and die set!  It makes the most beautiful flowers.
I've accented around the poinsettia with the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set along with some of the holly and berry die cuts from the Festive Holly Collection!
And no North Pole clothing would be finished without a touch of snow to those pretty poinsettias.
The frosting powder created by team member Rajni Chawla is the ideal product to give the poinsettias a hint of snow and a powerful punch of Christmas sparkle!

...here's a closer look at those poinsettias...

I think it would be so much fun to gift someone something special in a unique gift bag such as this!
What would you put inside?

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my little share for our Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
There are so many amazing creations up on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week...I do hope you take the time to check them out and leave the designers some love!  We all love hearing what you think of our projects...you keep us inspired to keep creating unique and creative projects!

Until next time...

Cardinal Christmas...

Hello and Welcome once again!
I hope you are keeping well!
I can't believe that it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
They seem to come faster and faster all the time!

As you are probably well aware, it's Christmas in July with us over at Heartfelt Creations and we've been sharing projects created with the Festive Holly Collection!
It is divine!

For this week's share I decided to attempt something a little different with the collection!
I am a lover of blue Christmas cards, and with all the reds and greens going on in this collection, I chose to challenge myself to get some blue in there somehow!
The idea to create a softer hued, water colored card came to mind and I got busy!

I hope you like how I've incorporated my blue interpretation into this project...

I've stamped the cardinal image onto watercolor paper using a permanent ink.  I've used my distress markers scribbled on an acrylic block and slightly watered down to color my image.  I've done the same with the die cut images around the Christmas bauble.

In the close up above you can see that the images are really water colored and have that look to them.
Once the images were all dry, I've gone in and then added a bit more color where I wanted portions to be darker!  Due to photo editing the colors are appearing slightly darker here on the cardinals than they really do on the card.

Using a dries white glue I've added some glitter to create snow where needed, and I've used a dries clear glue on the card background on the snowflakes and then applied a transparent glittter!
You can never have to much sparkle and shine around the holidays!

The Christmas bauble is a Spellbinders die that I purchased last year and never got around to using!
So, when I thought about how to add an extra touch of the holidays to this card...as well as some more blue and silver...these dies came to mind!
They are so delicate and pretty!
I've snipped apart and arranged the holly and berry die cuts around the ornament which has been popped up with pop dots to give the card some dimension.
I've created a multi loop bow as a finishing touch so the bauble didn't look like it was just there, but rather that it was hanging off the card.

I hope you've enjoyed my unique design for this newest holiday collection!
You now know that you can incorporate different colors by creating your own stamped background and bringing in different coloring mediums!
I also hope that you'll pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see what the rest of the uber talented design team has created!

Until next time...

This collection is truly festive indeed with it's traditional reds and greens!
Those beautiful cardinals mixed with the holly and berries are exquisite!
I just couldn't resist using several of the stunning premade card panels of these beautiful creatures!

Here's how my first project reveal with this collection turned out...

I've used a 6"x6" card panel to create the mat on the base of the card.  I opted to mat the main focal card panel with kraft card stock as this collection just has such a country flair!  I've inked all of the edges of all of the papers with a gold ink to add to the holiday feel of the card.  I've added the main cardinal premade panel onto the card with pop dots.  I've used the Decorative Medallion die cut from the Classic Wedding Collection to use as an accent down the side of the card.  I've cut several holly and berry cluster die cuts and added them to frame the side of the card as well.  I've used small florals from the Birds and Blooms Collection to tie in the gold theme on the card.  They've been heat embossed with gold embossing powder and have had gold prills added to the center.  A Christmas card calls for lots of sparkle and shine so I've used Glitter Ritz on top of dries white glue!  The dries white glue gives the card the look of raised snow.  It's so pretty!

...here's a bit of a closer look at some of the details...

A super simple flag completes the look!
I've heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and have then inked all of the edges with a gold ink! The finishing touch was the three gold half pearls!
I've completed the inside of the card with a coordinating 6"x6" card panel...not necessary by any means, but it's always a nice finishing touch!

I hope you've enjoyed my share today!
I hope you're leaving inspired and encouraged to get a jump on your holiday card making!
Don't wait too long to snatch up this festive collection as it won't last long!
You can find the entire collection in the Heartfelt Creations Online Store!
While you're there, be sure to head on over to the blog to take in the other gorgeous projects the rest of the design team have come up with for your holiday inspiration!
