A Sweet Treat

Hello!
So glad you've been able to stop by for a quick visit with me today.
Christmas is almost here...are you ready?

I have one last minute packaging and tag idea to share with you!
I'm popping in today with a reminder that our current challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges is running until the end of the month, so you still have some time to join in with those last minute items you're still creating!
The Holly Jolly elves have all been busy prepping for their holiday season, and the blog has some new inspiration from all of us today...everything from cards, decor, packaging, etc.

Here's a peek at the treat box I created for todays inspiration, along with the quick tag I created using the sponsor image "Snowman Bring It On" from The Stamping Boutique. (And just so you are aware, they are currently running a sale on all Christmas and Valentine digi stamps...time to stock up and score a savings at the same time!  Woot Woot!)

The treat box itself I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  Makes it so quick and easy...it feels like you're cheating!  LOL  Pick your cutting file, pick your paper and let the machine do the cutting.  Assemble and voila...a fast but impressive creation!
I printed out the digi image in a circle with my Cameo as well, and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. I added a touch of Glitter Ritz to the snowman to give him a little sparkler... add a ribbon and you're ready to fill with some delicious sweet treats!

I also wanted to let you know that we have some other wonderful sponsors for this challenge as well...

...as previously mentioned...

...offering one lucky winner 3 images from their store...

...offering another lucky winner 3 images from their store...

Until next time...

Oh Holy Night

One of my favorite Christmas carols is "Oh Holy Night".
It brings to mind what the night of Jesus' birth might have been like.

And for this weeks new challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges I had the pleasure of playing with a digi with this carol title!

Our new theme this week is...

"Anything Goes"

...Christmas that is!
We are a Christmas challenge blog after all!

I had the pleasure of playing with Lacy Sunshine's "Melanie and Benny Boo's Holy Night"
I loved this digi image the minute I saw it!

Here's what I created with it...

I wanted to create a simple and rustic scene for this image.  I thought my new burlap paper would be the perfect back drop for the image.  And the simple sentiment of Oh Holy Night was all that the card needed to say.  The image has been colored with my Spectrum Noir blending pencils.

We have a collection of sponsors for this challenge.  Be sure to check out the Holly Jolly blog for more information about who they are and what they are offering to our lucky winners.

The rest is now up to you...you still have a little time to create a special holiday card and link it up with us!  You may just be one of our next lucky winners.

Until next time...

Our son is super excited and waiting for that little green sprite to appear!
Our daughter just smiles...I think she's caught on!  LOL

Here's my Christmas Elf creation...

Isn't he cute...and he has a reminder message for you..."Santa Claus is coming to Town".
So don't procrastinate...get those cards made, those gifts purchased and wrapped and that baking packed in the freezer.

Before I go, I want to share sponsor details for this challenge...

...and they are offering one lucky winner...

...and here's a little more about them..

As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge,Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of paper crafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps atTotally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges atCatch the Bug.

 That's all for me today!
Can't wait to see your elf inspired creations!
Be sure to check out the other DT creations on the Holly Jolly blog for more fantastic ideas!

Until next time...

Love and Magic Filled Holidays

Welcome Back!

The snow is gently falling as I schedule this post, and thoughts of putting up the Christmas tree this week are filling my head!
It just all seems too early...and I'm just not quite ready for the white stuff!
But time just seems to keep flying by and there's no way of stopping it!

It seems like forever since I have been able to hide out in my craft room and just relax and put something together.  The stress of the craft sale is behind me and all went well, and now I'm just looking forward to working ahead on some of my various design team creations!

Speaking of design team creations, I want to share with you today the new challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges
You have lots of different ways to choose from to participate with us this go round.

We're having a...

"Color Combination Challenge"

There are six different color combinations for you to choose from...
(a) Red, Green, White
(b) Blue, White, Silver
(c) Red, Gold, Cream
(d) Blue, Brown, Cream
(e) Monochromatic
(f) Pink, Green, Kraft, White

I decided to go with the first combination...red, green and white.

Here's the card I created featuring those three colors...

I love this digi from Art by Miran.  It's called "Snow Kissed" and can be found in our sponsors Etsy store.
The image has been colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  The cute heart die cuts are created with a Memory Box die and the BigShot.  The fabulous sentiment is none other than TLC Creations...love that digi shop as well!  Unfortunately, you cannot see it on the picture, but the falling snow on the image has been glittered with Glitter Ritz so the card has a gorgeous shimmer.  The patterned card base is a score I got at Michaels last year when they were blowing out their Christmas supplies!

As mentioned, we are sponsored this week by...

...who is offering one lucky winner 3 digis of their choice!

And we also welcome as a sponsor this challenge as well...

...who is offering another lucky winner 3 digis of their choice!
Terrific prizes to be won!

So, now the rest is up to you!
Choose the color combination that speaks to you and run with it!
Then, don't forget to link up with us at Holly Jolly!
Be sure to check out the other DT inspiration work as well and leave them some blog love!

Ahhh...it's been a crazy day as I finally have time to sit down here and schedule this post.
I've been in my craft room pretty much all day listening to Christmas carols and creating holiday cards! It's going to be a crazy week as I'm down to the crunch time to create last minute items for the craft sale on the weekend!

Anyhooo...
Let me quickly share with you about the new challenge starting at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.
We have a fun theme for you to partake in for the next two weeks...

"Christmas Bingo"

Ribbon
Texture
Glitter
Rhinestones
2 designer papers
Twine
Die cuts
Punches
Pearls

So many options for you to choose from!

For my card I decided I was going to go diagonal...I have used die cuts, 2 designer papers and glitter!

Here's a peek at my creation...

The poinsettia die cuts are a new Memory Box die that I picked up recently and just had the chance to use.  I've also used a new swirl die cut that too was waiting to be tried out.  I've added some Crystal Stickles to the tip of the flowers and have also added some soft fuzzy bits to the centers of the flowers as well.  The finishing touch is the few dabs of liquid pearls around the flower bunch!

Onto the business at hand...
We are joined again by two wonderful sponsors for this challenge...

Be sure to check out the Holly Jolly blog to get details on the prizes being offered to two lucky winners!

Well, it's short and sweet today as I think I hear my pillow calling me!
Now here's hoping this tiredness doesn't leave the minute I lay my head on it!
Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Until next time...

"Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"

Hello and Welcome!

Today begins a new challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges!
The title of my blog post should give you a bit of a hint as to our new challenge theme...and should also leave you humming that very popular song from the movie "Frozen"!  LOL

Our new challenge theme this week is...

"Snowmen"

A fun, cool and frosty idea for a Christmas card creation!

Let's begin by having a peek at my card for this challenge...

I had the pleasure of creating with a Bugaboo Stamps image called "Brats - Winter Snowman".
This image just reminded me of our son and daughter playing in the front yard working on building a snowman together.
I colored up the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and chose a Recollections snowflake paper from a Christmas paper pack I picked up on sale at Michaels last week to use as the background.  I then cut some snowflakes and swirl die cuts with various dies and my BigShot.  I then glittered up the two corner snowflakes with some Crystal Stickles and applied a white sequin to the centre of each.  I found a vellum sentiment among my stash that I'd had for quite some time and felt that it suited the image....kids always delight in making a snowman don't they?
For the finishing touch, I added some Aleene's Glitter Snow to the bottom of the image to give it some extra shine and texture.
I think this would make a great card to give to a child during the holiday season along with a gift card or some cash enclosed.

Now...how about we move along to the sponsor details for this challenge...
Please welcome ...

"Bugaboo Stamps"
along with...

"The Stamping Boutique"
store

Please be sure to check out the Holly Jolly Challenge Blog to see the wonderful prizes these awesome companies are offering two lucky winners!
While you're there, be sure to check out the fantastic creations the rest of the lovely and talented DT members have created.

Before I go...I quickly wanted to share with you one more Snowman project my daughter, my mom and I worked on this past Thanksgiving weekend.  We were busy finishing the sock snowmen my daughter had suggested we build for the upcoming Christmas Craft Sale I will be doing the first Saturday in November.

Here's a pic of two of them...

We had so much fun creating them.  We made 13 in total...and it was so much fun to watch as each snowman took on it's own look and personality as it was dressed and different embellishments added.  We even created a few that landed up reminding us of family members!

So...the rest is up to you!
Rummage through your digis, rubber stamps, clear stamps, collage images and find that perfect snowman to create a special Christmas card.  Then be sure to link up with us at Holly Jolly so we can see what you've created!

Until next time...

It's a Holly Jolly Christmas...

 Hi there!
I have something exciting to share with you today!
I've been asked to join the wonderful design team at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges!
You know me...I love, love, love making Christmas projects!

Our theme this week is one of your favorites...

"Anything Goes"

Couldn't get much more easy than that!

I decided that I wanted to create a more fun and brightly colored card for this challenge.

Here's how it all came out...

Here's a close up of the colored image!
(I hadn't colored with my Spectrum Noir markers for quite some time and watched a few videos to try to improve on my technique!)

The adorable digi image comes from Bugaboo stamps who is one of our wonderful sponsors this challenge!  I had some fun designer patterned paper with a sentiment on the bottom which I figured would be perfect to use as the base on my card.  I cut out some strips of different patterned paper and fussy cut some tails into the bottom of them, and adhered them to the side of the card.  I decided to fussy cut a few smaller presents from another sheet of patterned paper and popped them up with 3D squares in the corner on top of the gift on the paper.  I then popped up the digi image with the 3D squares as well.

Now, let me share our sponsor details with you for this new challenge.
We would like to welcome back once again...

...who will award one lucky winner 7 digi stamps of their choice...
