Elegance is our go-to style at Amazing Paper Grace. We are always on the hunt for those elegant elements that you can add to a card that gives it just the right feel and appeal. This month we're head over heels for a year around a cascade of tendrils that can be snipped here and there to be used for top and bottom card decoration. Say welcome to the Amazing Paper Grace October 2021 Die of the Month - Flourished Fleurit.
The inspiration for Flourished Fleurit comes from looking through our stashes for just the right Rectangle or just the right Square. Guess what - Flourished Fleurit can be both. A snip here or a snip there puts give is just the right proportion to be a rectangle or a square. We cleverly added in sprigs of flowers so that you can cover your transitions. Hunting for elegant corners for a slimline - look no further. A slip or two has you covered.
Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:
1. Snip between all four corners for slimline decoration
2. Snip between the connecting rod and cinch for a square
3. Cut as a rectangle for a beautiful A7 layout with many options.

My Project Today using Flourished Fleurit.
When I saw this beautiful assembling of dies, the first thing that popped into my head was that these beautiful flourishes would be perfect for a Thanksgiving card...as you know we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day here in Canada next week!
And for me, flourishes definitely call for some vintage styling...so I dug deep into my vintage paper stash and got busy creating in some fall colors that may be a little non traditional for the Thanksgiving holiday season!
While this die really speaks to a beautiful landscape card design, I decided to switch things up and create a tent fold card to give it some additional flair! I cut two pieces of cream colored card stock...one 5"x7" and the second one I added a half inch to the top so I would be able to score a fold at that 1/2" mark...this was I was able to marry the two pieces of card stock together easily as I formed a hinge on top.
Next I used the basic outline die of the Flourished Fleurit and die cut a shaped card base from the base that I had just created! Then the fun part started...I got down to the layering!
I die cut the decorative background paper to match the shape of the card and left the center solid so the paper would show fully and completely. Next I cut a brown colored frame to fill in the corners of the card...then of course came the beautiful flourishes...I die cut them from a soft turquoise patterned paper that matched the flowers on the background paper and a second identical die cut from some gold card stock. I off set the two flourished pieces slightly while adhering them together so that the gold shimmer would peek through.
I used that gorgeous center die cut from the collection as an embellishment behind my sentiment which I fussy cut from my paper collection. I then adhered it to some gold card stock to match the pretty shimmer in the flourishes and fussy cut around it leaving a pretty edge.
I decided to die cut my flowers from the same cream colored card stock I'd used for the card base and then inked them up to get the exact shade of red I was wanting! A deep green cardstock was perfect for the budding branches!
While creating this card, I quickly came up with another idea that I wanted to try!
It led to a second project!
...and here's my second project featuring the Flourished Fleurit...
an adorable little note card that is simply made by folding the full base of the die in half! Wouldn't this also make a great Thanksgiving name place setting for the table just by swapping out the sentiment for the guest's name!?!? Or even an adorable gift card holder!?!?
I love it when dies are so versatile and easy to create multiple projects with!
I decorated the notecard with the background and flourishes the same way that I would have the larger version...I just left out the brown matting layer so the cream paper would show through on the notecard instead. Once I had all of the flourish die cuts added, I went ahead and folded the notecard in half and gave it a really good firm scoring with a heavy weight bone folder.
I went ahead and fussy cut another sentiment from the retired Authentique paper collection I was using and then created a small cluster of flowers to go around it! I love how these autumn themed cards came together! I hope you do too!
Designer Tip: when die cutting the small flowers from the Flourished Fleurit die collection, die cut them from small scraps of white or cream colored cardstock you have building up in your stash...this way you can ink the edges in any color you choose to have them coordinate with your project...and you've whittled away at the ever mounting pile of small bits of paper!
