Christmas Advent Calendar

Hi Everyone!
I'm so glad you could join me here today in my little area of blogland!
I have a super treat for you today....actually 24 of them if you're lucky!  LOL
It's another Snow Kissed Collection project created with Heartfelt Creations products!

I won't keep you in suspense any longer!
Here's this weeks projects....a Christmas Advent Calendar!

Now...it's not very often that I will come out and share with you that I love a project...but this one just makes me giddy with happiness!  I love the way it turned out...so much so that I've promised the kids that I will try to make them each one and include them in the designing!

I've used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the phrase along with the pieces for the advent calendar itself!  The entire project has been completed with the Snow Kissed Paper Collection by Heartfelt Creations with the exception of the back...which is a simple white card stock.  I chose this particular advent calendar file because I loved the fact that it had a shadow box area in which to build a scene as I love dimension!

Here's a closer look from a different angle...

I've fussy cut the upper corner greenery image from the same paper that I've cut the scene from for the backing of the shadowbox area.  I've stamped the little snowman onto white card stock and have colored him with my Ranger Distress Markers.  I've fussy cut the ornamental baubles from another of the decorative papers in the collection and applied them to make them seem that they are hanging from the greenery.  As a final touch I've added some Glitter Snow to the bottom of the shadowbox area and up the side, as well as around the greenery section.  I added some extra Glitter Ritz to the snow because I felt it needed more sparkle.  I've also used my Designer Dries Clear Glue and fine metal tip along with some more Glitter Ritz to add some sparkle to the river scene.

Here's a closer peek...

I know I would love to fill this up with yummy chocolates and treat myself to one each day on the countdown to Christmas!

I hope you've enjoyed today's little tour of my latest creation!
I'd love to know what you think...so please feel free to leave a comment for me!

Also don't forget to head on down to the Heartfelt Creations blog where they have more wonderful Christmas inspirations for you this week!  The design team has worked hard and would love to hear from you!

Until next time...

Upcoming Card Class...

It's time to start settling back into a routine!
Fall is around the corner, the evenings are getting cooler, the days shorter and the kids will be heading off to school next week!
That also means that we'll be resuming Heartfelt Creations classes at The Scrapbook Cottage locations in both Steinbach and Winnipeg!

Christmas is fast approaching so we thought you might enjoy getting a jump start on your holiday cards and a few other crafty items!
We'll be using the fun and adorable Snow Kissed Collection!

Here's a little more info about the class...

We'll be creating 3 simple card creations, along with one tiny gift box and two gift tags in this class!
This first card is actually a gift card holder and will be finished on the inside as well and showcases the elegant snowflake die from the Snow Kissed Collection...

This next card is a simple card with a cut out dimensional area using the Cut Mat Create System...and don't you just love the snowflake die cuts!

...and this last card is a quick and simple design using the smallest pine tree stamps and dies in the Snow Kissed Collection along with the Cut Mat Create dies...

The Snow Kissed Collection comes with an awesome little gift box that makes assembling small homemade gift packaging super fast!  Using the tag stamp and die set along with the large snowflake die, you're well on your way to creating some elegant packaging....and of course a poinsettia just completes the look...

...and of course we have to make a few tags to mark our beautifully wrapped gifts!  Quick and easy as well with the tag and stamp die along with an adorable snowman and a large pine tree!  And the snowflake background and delicate die cut make a super cute gift card or tag...

I hope I've been able to inspire you with this post if you're unable to attend the class.
However, if you are interested in this upcoming class, be sure to sign up with either Sharon in the Steinbach location, or Kathy at the Winnipeg location!  Remember seating is limited!

Winter Wedding Favor Box...

Hello!
How are you this morning, afternoon or evening!
If you've been following me for awhile you'll know that every Wednesday brings a
special creation featuring Heartfelt Creations!

For this week I've decided to use the wonderful little box die that comes in the Snow Kissed Collection.  I had an idea for a winter themed wedding or shower with this little box paired with the gorgeous window die from the Botanic Orchid Collection.

Let's take a look...

I chose to add some bridal type stamens to the poinsettias for this project to keep with the bridal theme.  I've heat embossed the flowers with white embossing powder along with the snowflakes.
The flowers have been stamped on a light blue patterned paper from the paper collection and then inked lightly with a blue ink.

Here's a bit of a closer look at the flower arrangement...

The snowflakes have also been heat embossed and then inked with a platinum color ink to give them some shine.  The wooden word has been lightly painted with a white distress paint and then sponged with the platinum ink as well.

Here's a closer look without the little tulle drawstring bag of Hershey Kisses...

I can just picture a crafty bride and her bridesmaids sitting in a room where they've gathered together their manual die cutting machines, a bunch of inks in the colors of the wedding color palette and of course their shaping tools...ready to create these as table favors for their guests.  The beauty of this project is that you can change up the colors, flowers, etc. to match the theme of your wedding!  This would be equally as stunning using orchids, fuchsias, and even daisies!

I hope you've enjoyed today's share!
Pop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see many more stunning winter and Christmas themed creations featuring the Snow Kissed Collection.

Until next time...

Heartfelt Birthday Wishes Blog Hop...

Thanks so much for joining us in wishing our wonderful Emma Lou of Heartfelt Creations a very Happy Birthday!
You are currently on a fun filled birthday blog hop showcasing the birthday cards the past and present design team members created and sent to surprise Emma Lou!  It was a hush hush operation involving my dear friend Liz, along with Linda (Emma Lou's mom) and Richard (Emma Lou's hubby), and we've all had so much fun being in on this wonderful surprise!

You are currently visiting me...Tracey Fehr of Beautiful Moment Cards and you should have arrived from Candy's blog Candy's Creations.  (Be sure to follow the list below to carry on in the celebrations!)

I opted to go with several older collections that I've been hoarding in my stash...Sun Kissed Fleur, as well as the Posy Patch Collection (which has been discontinued).  I used one of the flip fold album inserts as a card base...and here's how it all turned out...

I really wish I had been able to get a better photo of this card...but we've had days of rain and the sun has not wanted to cooperate with me!  The colors are so much more magnificent on the original...along with the glitter and prills on all of the flower centers.

Here's a closer look at the birthday wishes...

I'm sure that Emma Lou was quite surprised and will have had so much fun opening all of her snail mail!

Here's a pic of this beautiful lady ready to dig into her birthday cake...

Doesn't it look absolutely delicious!

...and here's a picture of Emma Lou surrounded by her cards...

Snow Kissed Collection Shaker Card...

Notice: It has come to my attention that Blogger has been having some technical difficulties and it would seem that my blog has been affected by one of the glitches involving comments.  In the recent fix, comments are now able to be left by a viewer if you open the blog post you are reading...from there a comment box will open at the very end of that particular blog page.  So sorry for the confusion!  Hopefully Blogger will have this sorted out quickly and normal operations will resume.  Thanks for understanding!

It's another exciting Heartfelt Creations release day...and the new "Snow Kissed" Collection is absolutely stunning!  It's the second holiday/winter themed assembling that has been released this year and is perfect to compliment the "Celebrate the Season" Collection that was released last month!

Here's a little bit more about it...

Bring out the softer side of old man winter in all of your projects with the new “Snow Kissed” Collection by Heartfelt Creations.  An exquisite blending of classic winter scenes depicting gentle snowfalls, candle lit windows, countryside sleigh rides mixed with a sprinkling of fun filled images of frosty snowmen delivers the perfect compilation of winter themed imagery for all of your holiday and chilly season creations.  This newest collection features three cling stamp sets revealing illustrations of towering pine trees and frosty snowmen ideal for creating spectacular winter scenes, a large gift tag perfect for adding that special handmade touch to all of your beautifully wrapped gifts, as well as a wide variety of snowflakes which when paired with the coordinating dies will allow you to build one of a kind dimensional flakes as realistic and individual as those in a gentle snowfall.  The charming paper collection showcases beautiful hues of cozy blues and rich pine greens accented with deep burgundies creating exquisite backdrops to showcase patterns of elegant snowflakes, windswept swirls, playful polka dots and beautiful brocades resembling those found on a cozy handmade quilt.  And, this unique collection brings with it a special surprise…a small gift box die ready to be cut, assembled and embellished, making packaging smaller gifts quick and easy during the busiest time of the year!  So, grab your quilt, cozy on up in your craft room and join us as we bring just a kiss of snow to your craft table….we promise no shoveling required!

I have to admit that I am an old soul and I love the old fashioned image of the horse drawn sleigh in this collection.  I decided that I wanted to create a shaker card with the premade card panel featuring this gorgeous image.  I also knew that I wanted to incorporate the small snowflake stamp and die combination to create some tiny snowflakes to add to the inside of the shaker card, along with the gorgeous evergreen images!

Here's how this week's project turned out...

I've used the pretty evergreen tree stamps from this newest collection in the bottom corner to add to the scene in the centre of the card.  They've been shaped and made to be slightly dimensional.
I've also used some of the elements from last years Sparkling Poinsettia Collection to dress up the top corner with some icy blue poinsettias!  I don't know what it is about using blue for me at Christmas time, but it's definitely one of my go to colors for holiday cards.

Here's a closer peek at those poinsettias...

..and of course I want to give you a close up of the bits and pieces I've used for the shaker elements...

I've added some clear, sparkly seed beads along with the small snowflakes I've stamped, heat embossed and then die cut with the coordinating die.  I love the way they look paired with that gorgeous winter scene of the horse drawn sleigh headed home...or perhaps to Grandma and Grandpa's for the holidays!

There's just always a little something special about shaker cards, isn't there?  Perhaps I love the Christmas versions so much because they remind me of snow globes.

As you can see there are so many wonderful images, stamped illustrations as well as decorative die cuts within this collection that the creativity for your holiday cards will be sparked in so many different ways!

Be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations online store to snatch up this collection early as I know the "I Want it All" kit will be selling out quickly!
And, once you've completed you shopping, head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog for more holiday and winter fun inspiration!

Watch this video to learn how to assemble a shaker card.

Create a 6"x6" card base from white card stock.  Next cut a piece of navy card stock just slightly smaller than the card base and distress all edges.  Adhere to card base.  Locate focal card panel as shown, as well as the preprinted decorative border shown on top and bottom of card.  Trim down card panel to fit over top distressed card stock and fussy cut decorative border to size and apply to card panel as shown. Using the Cut Mat Create die, cut out center image, apply VersaMark ink to edges of remaining outer frame, add white embossing powder and heat set. Stamp varying sizes of snowflakes onto white card stock with VersaMark ink, sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set.  Cut using coordinating dies and then using a sponge dauber apply some Platinum ink over top.  Adhere clear card stock to back of panel frame.  Next add foam tape around back center opening.  Place seed beads and snowflakes into center carefully and then adhere image to foam tape making sure your image is facing into front of card.  Adhere to card base using pop dots.  Stamp tree images onto white card stock using a dark green and color slightly with a lighter green using sponge dauber.  Cut with coordinating die and shape slightly using flower shaping tools.  Adhere to card as shown.  Cut out decorative corners and adhere to opposite corners, one on top and one on bottom as shown.  Cut out sentiment, ink edges with a light brown ink and apply to card as shown using pop dots.  Stamp one of the large poinsettias, along with one inking of the smaller poinsettias onto white card stock using a dark blue ink.  Using a slightly lighter blue ink and sponge dauber, ink centers of the flowers working down through the centers of the petals being careful to not reach all the way to the tips.  Cut using coordinating die, shape with a spritz of water and flower shaping kits.  Assemble one large double poinsettia, and one smaller double poinsettia.  Adhere to card as shown.  Stamp one inking of the holly leaves in a dark green ink, and using a green ink use same coloring technique as used for flowers.  Die cut and shape.  Arrange around flowers as desired.  Shape white/blue berries and tuck into flower arrangement.  Add prills to flower centers. As a finishing touch, using the dries clear adhesive and a fine bottle tip, apply glue to veining in flowers and sprinkle with glitter.

A Shabby Chic Christmas Project...

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
I'm so glad you have popped in for a visit!

This is the last week I will be sharing a project with you showcasing the Celebrate the Season Collection....for now...we do know that Christmas is on the way and I'm sure closer to the season I'll have more creations to inspire you!  LOL

But no worries...if you've caught the sneak peek of the next collection, you know we're carrying on celebrating the holiday season with the new Snow Kissed Collection!  Perfect for making more holiday creations, or for showcasing your winter themed scrapbook pages, chilly card creations, etc. I know you will fall in love with this one and I don't think stock will last long for the I Want It All Kit on this collection...so don't delay with placing your order!

I went in a little bit of a different direction for this weeks project!
Last week I took several classes with Finnibair!  They were amazing!
Now mixed media is not one of my strengths, so I was happy to learn a little more about it...so this week I decided I would try to put together a shabby chic piece of holiday decor!  (Wink Wink...in other words do a project with the new products I purchased before I forget how to use them!  LOL)

I opted to go with a different color palette than that in the Celebrate the Season Collection.  I wanted to show you that these same stamps and dies can be used in another way and in incorporated into any color palette you choose.  Vintage colors with a shabby chic look is one of my favorite looks...and hopefully you feel I was successful at putting this look together!

Here's a look at how the project turned out...

I opted to go with a gold, white and copper color scheme.
I've stamped the sleigh, presents and poinsettias onto cardboard from the backing on my paper pack and brushed it with a light coating of white gesso.  I've stamped in VersaMark and then heat embossed with a fine detail gold embossing powder.

I've done some textured stenciling on the background of the canvas and have used some pretty remnants of lace, along with a partial zipper as my background layering!  My mom crocheted me some pretty flowers awhile back and I thought they would look perfect on this project lending to that shabby chic feel.  Of course there are some random buttons, some round pearls as well as as some half pearls.

Here's a closer look at the present filled sleigh and the shabby chic elements around it...

This is a piece that you can create in any color palette and would be so much fun to use as a decor piece during the holiday season.  The 8"x10" canvas was the perfect size to complete the project in a reasonable amount of time, and I think would look just awesome on the mantel above the fireplace where the stockings are hung!

Onto a closer look at the top poinsettia cluster and element grouping...

Here you see the buttons, crocheted flowers, pearls and lace that have been used as the layering elements.  If you look closely, you will also see the snowflake like die cut I've used from the Arianna Lace Die set.  Such a pretty die cut!

I hope you've enjoyed today's share.  I've included the full instructions at the end of the blog post, and believe me...it's not that complicated!  LOL
For me the hardest part is letting go of the perfect planning portion of the creation and just start gluing elements down allowing the project to take shape.

I encourage you to hop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog for more holiday inspiration!
It amazes me every week how everyone comes up with something so different while using the same products!  While you're visiting, be sure to leave the designers a comment on their blogs...we love to hear from you!

Until next time...

Using your stencil, palette knife and 3D Gloss Gel, apply the textured areas on the canvas where you desire and dry with heat tool.  Next select ribbon scraps, ribbon roses along with piece of zipper and adhere to canvas using Heavy Body Gel.  Moving along, adhere crocheted flowers, buttons and any other pieces you may want to incorporate onto your canvas once again using the Heavy Body Gel.  Paint a thin layer of white gesso onto a cardboard piece from a cereal box or the backing of a paper pad.  Cut one of each of the snowflake like die cuts from the Arianna Lace Die collection.  Adhere to canvas as shown using the Heavy Body Gel.  Give a quick drying to the canvas using your heat tool to set adhesive.  Using a paint brush, cover all elements with white gesso and dry using heat tool.  Spray the various colors of the shimmer sprays where desired, heating with heat tool between layers.  Next stamp the sleigh onto the white gesso covered cardboard using VersaMark ink and apply gold fine detail embossing powder.  Set using heat tool and die cut using coordinating die.  Apply the desired amount of each shimmer spray to the sleigh, shape  slightly and adhere to canvas as shown.  Repeat steps for the four gifts, as well as four poinsettia and holly berry pieces (two of each size) to create four single blossom poinsettia and holly pairings.  Die cut using coordinating dies, spritz with shimmer sprays, shape slightly and adhere to canvas as shown.  Next, add various sizes of round pearls in clusters where desired using Heavy Body Gel.  Set adhesive slightly with heat tool.  Add half pearls where desired around other focal points using Heavy Body Gel.  Paint with white gesso, dry and then paint with shimmer spray.  Using a fine paint brush and Soft Gloss Gel, paint a small amount of gel to areas looking a tad bare around other elements and adhere copper microbeads.  Using a small brush, dip into the various colors of shimmer spray and lightly sprinkle droplets onto canvas where desired, making sure to do this in stages, drying with heat tool between applications so drops don't continue to spread and become too large. Lastly adhere Stickles to flowers, sleigh, beads and wherever else desired.  Allow to dry.
