So come along with us as we celebrate new beginnings and springtime beauty with the new Lush Lilac Collection!

Moving along, allow me to share with you my first creation with this breathtaking collection!

I opted to create this card with one of the Spellbinders dies that had been sitting in my stash for awhile but had not yet been used on a project!
I thought that it would lend such a pretty backdrop for that gorgeous cottage image!

I have to say that I can get lost in that cottage image!
It looks so tranquil and pretty...so I decided it would be the perfect serene scene to add the Praying for You sentiment from the collection of quotes/sentiments!
I also thought that it would be beautiful framed up with the window frame from the Winter's Eve Collection. I love how it turned out with the fancy top and bottom accents and I think it looks very regal paired up with the Spellbinders background die cut!

I stamped the largest lilac blossom from the Lush Lilac Cling Stamp Set, and several from the Sweet Lilac Scroll and Quotes Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using a dark purple ink. I've colored the images using a mix of ColorBox Wisteria and Memento Lilac Posies ink.

I've adhere the die cuts to the card base as shown, and then started adding the dimensional flowers.
The Lush Lilac Shaping Mold makes creating these little gems so quick and easy!
I finished them off with some prills in the center and of course a bunch of glitter so the card just shimmers and shines!

I do hope you've enjoyed today's share...and be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to take in the rest of the beautiful projects the rest of the design team have created for the Lush Lilac Collection debut!

Until next time...

Hello Spring....

Hello and Welcome!
I'm so glad you're here with my today!

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and I have a special card to share with you featuring the Singing in the Rain Collection!

How about we begin the post with a peek first off this time...

If you're anything like me, once February hits you're just tired of winter and waiting for spring to arrive! I have to admit that while working with this collection, my winter blahs subsided for awhile as I was creating! This is just such a great collection for so many different occasions!

I opted to create a fun box card that was spring themed!
I didn't have much time to work on the coloring for this creation, so I used many of the preprinted images from within the paper collection that coordinate with the dies. I used the Box Card die by Spellbinders to create my base and started dreaming of spring as I put the pieces together!

I did stamp, color and die cut the flowers on the project and put them together as a lovely bouquet for those adorable rain boots to hold!

Aren't they adorable!  The bright yellow Nuvo drops brought such a ray of sunshine to the card!
I've added hints of glitter to the florals, as well as the rain boots however, unfortunately it doesn't show up real well in the photos!

And, that gorgeous spring umbrella with those beautiful birds...be still my heart!!
I thought they were the perfect addition to the card along with the rainbow in the background!
As you can see, I've added some of the smallest blossoms from the Wildwood Cottage Collection to use as accents on the umbrella and have also tucked a few into the boot arrangement as well!

While this card may look complicated and time consuming, it really does come together quickly because there is really minimal stamping and die cutting!
I've finished off everything with a dusting of glitter and I love how this cheerful spring themed card came together!  Can you imagine how this would brighten your day if you were going through a rough patch, had been sick or simply were suffering from the winter blues?
The sentiments on this creation were taken from the Singing in the Rain and Flowering Dogwood Collections, and can so easily be changed up with stamps you have on hand or preprinted sentiments from other collections!  How about creating it as a spring themed baby or wedding shower card...the possibilities are endless!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's share!
Be sure to hop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the rest of the inspiring creations the rest of the design team have put together for your inspiration!
Can't wait to see where your creative juices take you!

Until next time...

For more tips on creating with the Singing in the Rain Collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/_J85LChrXSs.

Using your die cutting machine, cut the pieces in the Spellbinders Heart and Home Scalloped Pop Up Box Die from white card stock and assemble using a strong adhesive.

Cut three decorative side panels from chevron patterned paper found in the Singing in the Rain paper Collection, just slightly smaller than the card base sides. Ink all edges on each of the panel pieces using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and adhere to card sides.

Next, cut three decorative panels for the side flaps on the box card from the small preprinted umbrella and birds card panel, just slightly smaller than the card flaps themselves. Ink all edges of each panel using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink. Adhere to card base as shown. Adhere decorative edging from Spellbinders Heart and Home Scalloped Pop Up Box Die as shown.

Trim a piece of white card stock to support back of card and to include a written message. Ink using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and Adhere to card base. Adhere decorative topper from Spellbinders Heart and Home Scalloped Pop Up Box Die as shown.

Locate preprinted images of rain boots, umbrella and rainbow within paper collection that are sized to match the coordinating dies within the Singing in the Rain Collection. Die cut using your die cutting machine. Using pop dots, attach both boots together to create a completed pair, cut slits into boots where flower bouquet will be assembled.

Stamp one inking of each of the flowers in the Rain Boots and Blossoms Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using Memento Danube Blue Ink. Die cut using coordinating dies and color using Stack and Store Daubers using various color combinations of inks listed in supply list. Using your Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, shape each of the florals slightly. Insert into slits in boots, work to arrange your bouquet and once satisfied with the arrangement, use a dries clear glue to adhere into rain boots. Using pop dots, adhere rain boot arrangement to card front as shown.

Next, using left over bits of white card stock, trim narrow pieces to add to umbrella and rainbow die cuts to give them a bit of a lift off of the card base inserts. Adhere to card base inserts once you have determined the height you wish to have them appear.

Trim out spring sentiment from the Flowering Dogwood Paper Collection. Snip apart sentiment into two pieces, snip a banner end onto spring sentiment and then ink all edges of the pieces using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink. Shape sentiment pieces with your finger slightly and adhere to top of umbrella as shown. Trim out Thinking of You sentiment from the Singing in the Rain Collection, snip a banner end into the end of the sentiment and then ink all edges using Memento Danube Blue Ink. Shape slightly with your finger and adhere to rain boot arrangement as shown.

Stamp one inking of the smallest Wildwood Florals onto white card stock using Memento Danube Blue Ink. Color using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and Colorbox Wisteria Ink. Shape using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and adhere several blossoms to rain boot bouquet as well as on umbrella as shown.

Lastly, using a dries clear glue and transparent glitter, apply glitter to rain boot bouquet, rain boots, umbrella and all shaped florals. Create flower centers for shaped Wildwood Florals using Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops.

Let's Talk Valentine's Day....

Hello! Hello! Hello!
I'm so excited to see you again!

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and you may have noticed that I haven't posted anything for awhile now! I've been very busy writing all of the new collections coming your way in the next few months!

Can you believe that we are headed into February shortly?
I'm not sure where the time goes!
Well, February means Valentine's Day...and believe it or not I have not had the chance to work with the Heartfelt Love Collection yet, so I gathered it all together on my craft room table and started searching YouTube!

You see, I have a pen pal and wanted to send her something lovely for Valentine's Day!
She just sent me a wonderful flip booklet and I wanted to try to find something a little different instead of sending the same idea back...well, thank you YouTube...I discovered the "Stuffed Envelope"!

I decided that I was going to do a bit of a different twist on it and thought the Flip Fold Card Bases could make the perfect base for this little labour of love!

Before we go any further, allow me to share the finished project, and we'll take it all from there!
Because this creation won't be showcased on the Heartfelt Creation blog (I was too slow to get it finished and submitted in time!  LOL), I won't include the full instructions at the end as I usually do, but will rather walk you through step by step, giving you instructions and links as we go!!

Here's how the whole stuffed envelope came together...

Doesn't that look like so much fun to make, give and to receive!
I sure hope my pen pal will enjoy her special goodies!

Let's take a look at how it all starts out...the card base...transformed...

All of the beautiful patterned paper has been taken from the Heartfelt Love Collection...including the paper I've used to create that gorgeous rosette on the bottom of the card base.

Believe it or not, this all begins with one of the white fold out card bases...it's the 5"x7" size and is the one that is in the tall standing position.  You can find those card bases here.
I've used the coordinating fold out card border dies to create the pieces that get affixed to the base, as well as the eyelet style accent borders.  You can find all of those dies here and here!

Once I added all of the decorative papers to the base, I added the lacy accents. I die cut them from white card stock and then used a sponge and dries clear glue to glitter them up with a transparent glitter. Once you have that all assembled, you can begin adhering your fold outs to make the pockets.  You just follow the natural fold outs in the cards and glue down the sides and bottoms where you want your pockets created. I first of all used just Scor Tape, but later on when stuffing the envelope I could see that it would not hold together permanently, so went back in with some strong glue as well.  So, my suggestion would be to use both right off the hop while assembling!

I finished off several areas using some heart themed and hello sentiment washi tape to give the creation an extra does of shimmer and color!

Then I set about to creating that large rosette for the front of the envelope.

Here's a closer peek at it...

Now, handmade rosettes are nothing new in the craft world...but can you believe that I had never taken the time to make one myself?  LOL
It's super easy...here's the link on YouTube I used follow along to get the job done!

I thought the doily would be the perfect backing for a Valentine's Day rosette, and I cut the heart shape using silver glitter paper and the Eyelet Hearts Die from the Heartfelt Love Collection!
The chipboard Hello is an embellishment that has been in my stash for quite some time and I thought it would be perfect to send greetings to a new pen pal!

Next off, we have to fill the envelope, right?
That's the fun part!
I wanted to do a lot of the embellishing myself and dug into my stash to see what I had that I could work with!

First off I decided to make a tag!
Here's how it came out...

I will be the first one to admit that I don't make many tags....I actually find them really hard!
I don't know if it's the small surface area or what?!?!
But, I will say that I do like how this one turned out!

I cut two tag bases using my Tim Holtz tag set.
For the first layer of the tag base, I actually cut two of them so I could layer them together to create a stronger tag! I'm thinking I will write a Bible Verse on the back of the tag for my pen pal so she can use this in her war binder and I wanted it to be able to withstand some wear!
I wanted to be able to layer one on top of the other, so I cut the next size tag in the set to do so.
I cut tails into the second one as you will see above. (Shhhh...they're not quite even! I think my head is on crooked!!! LOL)
I cut a decorative edge piece from red card stock using one of the decorative dies in the Window Box Elements Die from the Winter's Eve Collection and adhered it to the side of the second smaller tag. I then adhered the two tags together as shown!

I then set about to cutting hearts from the same die set used on the rosette. I cut a smaller one in red, a larger in white card stock and then layered with patterned paper and then a mid sized from the silver glitter card stock once again.  I adhered them to the tag as shown!

I stamped the Love sentiment onto white card stock using black VersaFine Ink.  I die cut using the coordinating die and then used a sponge to apply a dries clear glue to each letter.  I dipped each letter into the Crystal Clear glitter to give it a chunky but sparkly look.  I then adhered the word to the card as shown.

Then I set about to the task of creating the flowers. I stamped the smaller set of flowers from the Wildwood Florals Cling Stamp Set onto white paper using a grey VersaFine Ink.  I then heat embossed them using a white embossing powder and my heat tool. I was hoping that the white embossing powder wouldn't take quite everywhere on the flowers so they had a bit of an aged look and matched the silver on the card...and it worked!

I then used my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and shaped each of the flowers, created the double blossoms as shown and inserted a white stamen into each flower.
You can find the stamen centers here!
I sealed the stamens into the flower centers from the back using hot glue and then adhered them to the tag using hot glue as well.

For the finishing touches I added a sentiment from the Heartfelt Paper Collection, giving it banner ends on both sides and inking it with a light pink ink around all the edges.  A hint of washi tape and some silver pearls and the whole tag was complete!

Lastly, came the fun of creating some goodies to go into the pockets!

Here's what I came up with...

I made a smaller rosette and backed it by pleating up some ribbon in a circle!
So simple, but so pretty...this picture really doesn't do it justice!
I then used the Eyelet Hearts Die once again to layer the heart center.  I've used pop dots to attach the glittered heart to the gold scalloped edge heart. A simple wooden skewer is hot glued to the back of the rosette so it can be used in an arrangement.

I then rummaged a little further in my stash and found a brand new package of small blank chalkboard signs. The first thing I thought of were the sentiment stamps in the Heartfelt Love Collection...and the Happy Valentine's Day stamp fit perfectly!
I stamped the image onto the sign with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it using white embossing powder and my heat tool!

I headed back into my stash one more time and found some tiny little treat bags that fit some pretty paper clips I had purchased online for a great deal several years ago.  I trimmed down one of the panels from the Heartfelt Love Paper Collection and adhered it to the front of the treat bag. I added some transparent glitter using a dries clear glue and voila...a little dressed up Valentine's treat bag!

I'll be taking a trip to the local dollar store to find a few more goodies to add to the envelope...I have some beautiful lace butterflies that I've already added into the package, as well as a lovely glittery pen, and am hoping to find some charming Valentine stickers and perhaps some cinnamon hearts or chocolate!

To finish off the package I'll create an envelope to adhere to the back of this stuffed envelope, and if time allows I'll create a card...or if not I'll just place my pen pal letter into the envelope on it's own!
I hope my new pen pal will love her stuffed envelope and all of the goodies!

And, I hope you've enjoyed today's share!
I wanted to show you that sometimes you have great foundations within your stash that you already own that you can alter with some gorgeous papers or even create your own embellishments for someone special to use!

I realize that since I don't have the full instructions for everything you may have a few questions should you try to replicate this project...please feel free to email me!  My email address is listed on the side of my blog!

Be sure to hop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog as well to see what the rest of the design team have created for your viewing pleasure this week!

Until next time...

Another Week Goes By....

Hello and Welcome Everyone!
I'm just popping in with a quick share today!
Life is moving along quickly these days and that means there's always more to add to my Time Line Project!

There hasn't been a whole lot of creative time in my life lately, so I've really enjoyed picking up this project as I really only put about 15 minutes a day into it!
It's just a quick jot down of the day's activities, no matter how mundane they are and perhaps slapping on a sticker or two or quickly stamping an image! Puts a new twist on keeping a diary, doesn't it! It's enough to feel like I've been creative when really I have not felt like being creative as my mojo has gone on vacation...(apparently my mojo doesn't like winter anymore than I do and I'm assuming it's probably vacationing in a warm spot somewhere! LOL)

Anyway, here's a look at how I arranged my Time Line for this week...

I've once again created a quick watercolor background which is really hard to see in this photo as I've had to brighten the image during photo editing.  I've done a little hand drawing and of course you can see I've stamped some whimsical snowflakes on the right hand side as we had a snow storm last night! (I'll get to start off the next week of memory keeping with a storm day as the kids got to stay home today!)

I hope you've enjoyed today's share!
Tell me, do you keep a personal journal, diary or perhaps you've decided to keep a Time Line record as well?  I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below!

Until next time...

Week 2 of the Time Line Project...

Hello Again!
So happy you're here for a little visit!
I have just a quick share for you today, continuing with my Time Line Project through Art Journal Emporium with Tangie Baxter & Co.

If these project is something you haven't heard about yet, I encourage you to go back to the previous post before this one and learn all about it!
I think this is an awesome way to document a little about your life as well as great creative therapy!

Moving onto my second page in my time line...

As you can see, I did continue along with my theme of sketching a few of my own die cuts! (I'm not even going to tell you how many times it took me to get that sneaker to look like a sneaker!  LOL)
Since I am a card maker with a ton of stamps in my possession, I also decided to ink up an Angie Girl by Unity Stamps that pretty much summed up how our weather was for the week...can you say cold!!!

I've used a few stickers by MAMBI as well as some project life journaling cards I'd had laying around for sometime!  I love that this project encourages me to use up what I already have cluttering up my craft room!  LOL

Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's share!
I'd love to know your thoughts on a project like this...would it help you to unwind and destress, would it cause you more stress, do you like the idea of having a non traditional type book put together for the generations that come after you...do you think they will like to have read about the more mundane moments in your life as they compare your life to theirs...
I invite you to leave your comments below!

Until next time...

Time Line Project...

Hello and Welcome!
Happy New Year!!!
I know it's been awhile again!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and your New Year is off to a wonderful start!

As you may have noticed, I haven't been around in awhile.
Our last few months have been super busy and I have just been happy to keep my little family afloat through it all!

I have been going through a "creative drought" as of late...there has just been a lot going on and stress levels have been quite high.  Over the last few weeks I decided that I needed to try something new creatively that was going to be just for me!

I came across this extremely intriguing class by Tangie Baxter!
It flashed up as a sponsored ad on Facebook and I just had to check it out!
This caravan of classes revolves around creating the timeline of your own life in an artistic/mixed media way!  I thought this would be fun to give a try so I signed up!

I started with some page prep and decided to go with watercolor backgrounds!
I dug out my Prima watercolors which had seen very little use since being purchased.

Here's a little photo showing you how I started with my prep...

Now I will admit that it felt good to just let loose and splash all those different colors around on the page.  I tend to be a tad on the perfectionist side...ok...a lot on the perfectionist side and usually have a very clear plan in mind when creating something.  So while this was fun, I really did have to tell myself that however the paint puddles landed was good enough!  LOL

Then came January 01...the release of the first lesson in the Time Line Project.
Oh how I anticipated!  I watched the videos and it didn't take very long for some panic to set in!
We were to try to sketch some of our die cuts to use in our journaling!
Oh my!!!  There are two things that I really really suck at creatively...and that is drawing and painting!
What have I gotten myself into????

Well, I decided that I couldn't just write off the lesson...I had to jump off ledge and face my fears..so I started to doodle out a few little drawings!  I'm not even going to tell you how many times I had to redraw them before I was satisfied!  LOL

Are you ready for a peek?

That crazy looking fish, the pajamas and the little oven in the corner are all original sketches by me!
I will admit that I kinda had fun doing this and was glad that I jumped out of my comfort zone!
I threw in a little hand lettering (I'm hoping to get some practice in on that as well yet), some motivational stickers and some Project Life embellishment bits I had lying around!
As you can see, my week is not totally completed here yet in this photo...that blank corner needs to be filled in and I'm waiting to add a small polaroid photo to the blank box (my batteries on my instax printer died and I need to get to town to pick some up).

I hope you've enjoyed my different kind of share here today!
If you're interest has been peaked, you can learn more about the classes here!

Until next time...

Heartfelt Creations Camelia Carnation...

Hello Everyone!
How are you?  It seems forever since we've been able to visit together!
I know it's been very quiet around here as of late...life has been super busy, and I have to admit that my creative side seems to have wandered off and I'm having a bit of trouble finding it!

Have you been enjoying the newest release by Heartfelt Creations...the Camelia Carnation Collection?  Isn't the carnation a staple in every floral arrangement...and yet such a subtle, down to earth flower that is so often completely overlooked?

I've created a Mother's Day card with this beautiful collection!

Here's how the project came together...

The carnation layers work perfectly with the 3D Basics Floral Shaping Mold and make creating these little gems so quick and easy!

Here's a closer look at the carnation flowers...

I thought the window would be the perfect backdrop for the carnations and would make such a lovely feminine card perfect for Mother's Day....after all, carnations are traditionally associated with Mother's Day!

I've done some distressing around the edges of the patterned paper to give the card a bit of texture and interest.  I've glittered the carnations using a dries clear glue and transparent glitter, and have added Nuvo drops to the centers of the three small accent flowers...also carnations, just not shaped as such and left as singles.

I do hope you've enjoyed today's quick share!
You'll notice that I didn't get this creation done in time to have it added to the Heartfelt Creations blog...but I do hope you take a wander on over there to take in the other marvelous creations the rest of the design team have come up with for your crafty inspiration!

Until next time...
Project Supplies & Instructions
Other Products: white card stock, Ranger Distress Ink Tool, Gemini Die Cutting Machine, BigShot Die Cutting Machine, VersaMark Pine Cone Ink, pink card stock, scissors, paper trimmer, scor tape, pop dots, VersaFine Gray Ink

For more tips on creating with the Camelia Carnation collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/rhk76SAIgWQ.

For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE.

Create a 5"x7" card base. Trim a matting piece from pink card stock just slightly smaller than the card base allowing a white border around the mat. Next trim a piece just slightly smaller than the pink mat from Camelia Carnation paper collection. Rough edges of patterned paper using a distress tool and ink edges with a light brown ink. Adhere patterned paper to pink mat and adhere to card base. Die cut the window frame die cut as shown. Die cut one of the oval shaped intricate die cuts from the Window Box Elements Die and using scissors, cut in half. Adhere one half of each die cut to window frame to mimic shutters. Cut a piece of patterned card stock from carnation paper collection just slightly larger than the window frame die cut as shown. Rough edges and ink all edges with a light brown ink. Cut a mat from pink card stock just slightly larger than the patterned paper piece. Marry patterned paper and pink mat together, shape window frame slightly and adhere pieces together. Using doubled up pop dots, adhere window frame portion of card to card base.

Next stamp two inkings of small camelia carnation flowers onto white card stalk using a pink ink. Die cut using coordinating die and color one set using sponge daubers with same color ink, while leaving one set white with pink veining. Shape flowers using floral basics mold. (See video listed above). Assemble flowers as shown in video listed above, creating one larger white carnation, one smaller white carnation, one larger pink carnation and one smaller pink carnation. Keep three of the smallest flowers single to use as accent flowers.

Stamp two inkings of the leaves from the Small Camelia Carnation cling stamp set using a darker green ink on white card stock. Using a sponge dauber, color using a light green ink in the centers and the same darker green ink used to stamp along the edges. Shape using your Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

Stamp one image of the smaller fanciful carnation image onto white card stock using a light grey ink. Color using sponge daubers. Adhere along side of card where flower cluster will be created. Now add assembled carnations, leaves and accent flowers as shown.

Trim out sentiments from paper collection, snip a ribbon tail into the end of each, ink each edge with a light brown ink and curl slightly over your fingers. Adhere to card base as shown.

Lastly, using a dries clear glue, apply a light sprinkling of glitter to each flower. Add white Nuvo drop centers to the three small accent flowers.
