Best Wishes Fuchsia Card

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday here on the blog!
I trust you've been enjoying the newest collection and all of the wonderful creations the design team have been creating for your pleasure & inspiration!

The card I designed this week is an any occasion card!  It could be used as a "Thinking of You", "Just Because" or even a wedding card with that beautiful oval die cut peeking through the floral cluster!

Let's take a peek...

I love the message on this card..."Beauty in the Simple Things"...really that is what life is all about and Heartfelt Creations captures that so perfectly in their papers and flowers!  Far too often we don't take time to enjoy the simpler things because our schedules are so jam packed full of things to do!  We take for granted those moments of peace and quiet, the love of friends and family...all those things that require nothing of us but to be still, listen and enjoy!

Before we take a closer look at the beautiful fuchsia flowers, I wanted to explain to you what I did a little differently this time.  The largest fuchsia bloom has been shaped using every fuchsia die cut in every size in this collection.  I've started with the largest flower to be the base of the bloom and have built the flower in halves.  I've gone down by size in the layering...the second largest shape has filled half of the base flower... the next size down fills the other half.  Then you continue shaping and filling until you have used all of the flower pieces. I've put in a double stamen as well...and it fits perfectly between the two halves of the flower centre so they really are centred!  I recently picked up a beautiful fuchsia hanging basket at the greenhouse and the blossoms were so full I decided to try to replicate them.  I then added the largest top to the flower...and the other two top pieces I've used to shape into a small bud!  Lastly I've added pearls to the top of the flower to give them the appearance of actually hanging from the vine.

Let's take a look...

The flowers have all been heat embossed with Bridal Embossing powder.  I've then added some Diamond Stickles to the petal edges and some Pink Taffeta Stickles to the other areas of the flowers.
(You can find full instructions for this creation at the end of this blog post.)

I do hope you've found some inspiration here today!
Be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for more fabulous designs and ideas!
I promise that the Cascading Fuchsia collection will be one that you will treasure having in your crafting supplies.

Until next time...

Begin with a 5"x7" card base.  Choose a soft patterned paper from the collection for your background, cut to fit card and ink all edges using a brown colored ink.   Next choose a patterned paper to go over the the first paper,  covering it fully to both side edges, but allowing a section of the initial paper to show through on the top and bottom. Ink all edges with brown ink. Adhere two pieces together.  Die cut the decorative oval using white card stock.  Adhere to centre of card as shown.  Locate the card panel with the circle image as shown on card.  Die cut using the Spellbinders circle die.  Ink edges with brown ink and adhere to side of card as shown.  Cut out sentiment strip from the paper collection, ink with brown color and adhere to card.  Adhere ribbon to both top of sentiment strip as well as bottom using scor tape.  Stamp sentiment circle using grey ink and die cut.  Using a punch or circle die, create a background piece for the sentiment circle using coordinating paper.  Pleat the seam binding ribbon around the back of the sentiment circle.  Apply to card using 3D pop dots.  Stamp the vining fuchsia image onto white card stock and color using blendable pencils and blending solution.  Fussy cut to use as background for foliage and flowers.  Stamp all three fuchsia sizes onto white card stock and heat emboss.  Apply pink color for top of flowers.  For the largest bloom, layer all of the flowers once shaped into one, working from your largest to your smallest.  (I've used the largest flower as the base and then used the next sizes down to fill it in.  I've actually put one flower on one half of the inside of the large flower and then filled in the other half with another shaped flower so later I will have a centre between them to add the double stamens.  I've continued this until I have used all of the flowers I have stamped and embossed.  I've then used the two larger stamens and adhered them to the centre.) Using the two star shaped portions of the flowers that you have left over, shape them into a ball to form a bud.  Stamp the mid sized fuchsia set and heat emboss.  Add color to the top of the flower, shape and put together.  Repeat with the small sized fuchsia set.  Stamp several of the leaf images using black ink and lightly color using blendable pencils.  Apply several shades of green colored inks to just the edges of the leaves.  Shape and set aside to dry.  Using the swirling leaf die from the Cut Mat Create 2A, die cut one die cut and snip into various pieces to use as fillers.  Arrange leaves, flowers and swirls and once happy with arrangement adhere to card.  Apply half pearls to decorative oval die cut and whole pearls to the tops of each of the flowers and bud.  Create bow and add to card.  Apply stickles to each petal of the flowers.  You now have a beautiful any occasion card ready to send to someone special to let them know you've been thinking of them!  Enjoy!

Vintage Fuschia Card

Wow!  Hello!
Can you believe that it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday?
I'm back to once again feature the gorgeous new fuchsia collection.

This collection just seems to lend itself so well to the romantic vintage style and water coloring!
At least to me it does!  LOL
I've created another card today with both of those themes!

Let's take a look...

I wanted to give this card a real vintage style look, so I've distressed all of the edges and used quite a few different colors of distress ink to get it to this antiqued look.  To add to the romantic feel, Ive added just a touch of glitter with several different shades of Stickles.  The flower images have once again been water colored with my distress markers and a paint brush.  The full instructions on how this has been created will follow at the end of this blog post.

How about a few close up photographs of the gorgeous flower images I've used here...

I love love love the flower images included in this collection!

Here's a close up of the single flower stamp on the bottom corner...

With just a little bit of masking and by stamping your image slightly off the paper so it appears only partially, you have a creation that looks as though the image was actually on the page and you've just colored it.  The script background is also a Heartfelt Creations stamp which you can find here.  Once again a little bit of masking, and it looks like that script has been printed right onto the page. I choose to stamp the florals straight over the writing as I wanted it to appear that they were in the background and that someone had written over them.  For finishing touches I've added some gold cording and two groupings of black rhinestones.  A quick and easy card to create that can be used for any occasion!

Now, let me encourage you to go check out the Heartfelt Creations blog where all of my teammates have created outstanding and very creative projects! Sometimes I sit back and just gaze at that blog and really just soak in all of the talent there!  I am blessed to work with this company as well as with the amazing designers who create the most wonderful creations week after week!  We would love to see what you create with these projects as well!  Did you know that you can interact with Heartfelt Creations on Facebook...post your creations there, learn a little about the people behind the business...and they always have the most fun and interesting questions for you to answer!
If you've not already "liked" the Heartfelt Creations Facebook page...don't wait any longer!

Well, that's all for me today!
I hope wherever you are, whatever you are doing today you will find yourself blessed!

Until next time...

Other products used: 5"x7" card base, VersaFine Black Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Markers - Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet, Crushed Olive, Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss, Tim Holtz Watercolor Brush, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Antique Linen, Vintage Photo & Gathered Twigs, VersaColor Pine Cone Ink, Ranger Distress Tool, gold cord, Ranger ink tool, black adhesive rhinestones, Stickles - Diamond & Pink Taffeta, washi tape

Cut a piece of decorative purple paper from the paper collection to use as a background cover for your 5"x7" card base.  Next choose a coordinating paper that has some fuchsia  images printed on both sides and cut slightly smaller than the background piece. The last piece of paper you will need to locate is the pre printed card panel as shown...trim off green edging to make the panel slightly smaller. Next mask off the area around the centre white space on the premade card panel with washi tape. Using permanent black ink, stamp the script stamp in the centre area of the card panel.  Allow to dry.  Next stamp the Fuchsia Clusters image to the top corner of the card, slightly off to of the side so that only part of the image appears to be printed onto the background.  Repeat with the small fuchsia image from the Fuchsia Bouquet Cling Stamp Set.  Allow to dry and then watercolor both images using distress markers and watercolor brush. Once all coloring has dried, distress all pieces using an ink distress tool and the various colored inks listed above...starting with your lighter colored inks and building in the darker shades where you would like the card to appear more aged.  Using a distressing tool, rough up all the edges on each of the card pieces as much or as little as you like...even tear a few areas so the background papers have a chance to show through.  Apply a dark colored brown ink onto all of the roughed up edges. Build card starting with the purple background paper, then the printed smaller image paper and lastly the premade card panel you have stamped and colored. Fussy cut the small sentiment box from the paper collection and stamp with your choice of sentiment from the collection. Adhere to card as shown. Wind your gold cording around the card front several times and tie in a knot in the front. Adhere your card front to the base.   Apply stickles lightly to each of the stamped flower images and adhere rhinestones.  You now have an antiqued, vintage style any occasion card ready to send out to that friend who loves all things aged and beautiful!

Let's Try a Mini Album She Said...

Hello, Hello, Hello!
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
It's a Heartfelt Creations Tuesday today!  Gotcha!
We decided to go live early today!  *wink wink*
Here in Manitoba, Canada we're still experiencing some really cold temperatures and wind chills with the indication that temperatures are to moderate later this week!  Last week the kids had maybe two outdoor recesses the entire week...it's been that cold!
-40 degree Celsius windchill days are just not days to spend anytime outside!
My heart goes out to those teachers with all those cooped up children though!

So I thought to myself...we need a dose of spring in a big way this week and what better way to bring it on than to create an extra special project with the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley Collection!
I hope you've been enjoying this collection as much as I have.
I recently purchased The Cinch binding machine and decided that with all this bitter cold it was time to sit down and play with it a little.  So, I said to myself...let's try a 6"x6" mini album!
I've been wanting to sit down and create one for quite some time, however several of the designers that I work with are so accomplished when it comes to mini albums, I was sorta hesitant to post one.
But...nothing ventured, nothing gained!

So here goes nothing...

We'll begin with the front cover...seems like the perfect place to start!  LOL
(All of the instructions for how to create this cover will be found on the bottom of this post.  For the remainder of the album I will give you a page by page tour and let you know how the pages were built in the post.  All of the dies, stamps, etc. that have been used in this creation are also listed in the supplies list at the bottom with the cover instructions as well.)

....and how about a close up of the flowers on the front cover...

Oh I can hardly wait for some purple flowers to spring up in my flower bed!
Don't they just bring happiness to your heart?

Moving along to the pages in the mini.
(You will find a measurement/cutting guide at the end of the post as well for all of the pockets you see on the pages.)

Inside the front cover..

I began by choosing and cutting paper for the inside of the front and back covers as I wanted them to match in the end. Ink all edges in a brown colored ink...(all of the papers from the paper collection in this project have been inked with brown, however this is personal preference).  Adhere the mat to the first inside cover using scor tape.  I've then created a pocket on the left side of the cover with black card stock and matted it with patterned paper from the paper collection. I've added a decorative strip on the edge of the pocket for an extra special detail.  Heartfelt Creations makes it so easy to create a quick and beautiful mini album.  All of the papers coordinate and the pre made card panels make it so fast and simple to make photo mats and tag embellishments.  I've included 2 card panels in the cover pocket that can be used for matting smaller photos or as journaling cards as well as one of the small tags. I've matted the small card panels with solid yellow card stock for a bit of a pop of color.  For a bit of interest and to keep things organized, I've clipped them with the cutest clip I found in the local dollar store.

Here's a quick peek at the matted cards that are contained in the pocket...

Next to the inside cover I've created a shaped page card...I've actually cheated a little by using a Silhouette cutting file.  I've cut the design once in black card stock, a second time using the patterned paper I've chosen and then a third time as a mirrored image in a different patterned paper to cover the second side of the shape.  The three layers just gives the page a little extra stability.  You would also be able to cut this page from chipboard should you desire to do so.  Remember to ink all of the edges of the patterned paper with brown colored ink.

Moving along to the next page...

Here I've chosen one of the square pre made card panels to mat the base page.  You will have to trim it slightly.  I've created a pocket that reaches half way up the page and again matted it in a different paper.  I've adhered a large tag from the paper collection to the pocket, making sure to just put adhesive on the portion that I need to have adhered to the pocket.  I've then fussy cut the flower and butterfly image from another card panel and adhered to the top of the pocket with 3D pop dots.  I've once again cut a smaller card panel and matted it with a green card stock and put it inside the pocket.  I thought that a colorful paper clip would make a cute accent piece to the album and have used it to keep the cards in place on both sides of the page.

Let's take a quick peek at the background page mat as well as the pocket card...

...and as we flip the page...

I've used one of the square pre made card panels trimmed to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" inches again to mat the back of the full card base.  I've once again created another pocket on the left hand side of the page.  I've trimmed a piece of patterned paper to use as a decorative mat on the pocket.  A matching small pre made card panel has been matted in purple card stock and once again can be used to mat a photo on the back, or to journal a memory. I've also adhered a die cut shape behind the area where the photo mat/journal card to give the page a bit of interest when the card has been removed.

Here's a peek of the die cut shaped and pocket card exposed...

To add a touch of variety to the mini album I've incorporated a half base page to the right.

I've matted the black base with a purple colored card stock and then again with a decorative patterned paper that is complimentary to the left side of the page.  I've fussy cut some purple flowers from a piece of patterned paper and then put adhesive on the side and bottom allowing them to be used as a pocket as well for the large tag as shown.

...and here's a look at the back side of the half page...

I've chosen to leave the second side of the half page blank as I loved the beauty of the script on this patterned paper.  The option is there to mount a photo on the page, or leave as is!

...and now opposite this half page...

I've used a die cut to create an elegant pocket on the bottom corner.
I've stamped a butterfly image from the collection onto a small pre made card panel and colored it using Spectrum Noir markers.

Moving along to the next few pages...

On the left hand page, I've created a larger pocket to once again hold some pocket cards.
The adjoining shaped page is once again a cut file from the Silhouette design store.  It has been created in the same fashion as mentioned for the first shaped page.  Once again it has the three layers to give it some extra stability.  I've left this page blank as it makes a unique focal point.

Here's a quick peek at the stamped journaling cards from in the pocket.

For the next page, I've once again created one that is just a half.

Isn't this polka dotted paper so cheery and fun!
I decided to not cover it up and once again leave both the opposite page and the half available for matting a special photo or memento.

...and here's the other side of the half page...

I've once again fussy cut some flowers from a piece of paper from the collection and turned it into a pocket.  The little insert card was actually a piece of scrap that I thought would be perfect to journal on!  Love the little sentiment on it!

The sentiment is actually repeated on the next page I'm about to share with you.
It's the same shaped page that I just shared with you just before the half page...only I've turned it into a pocket!

I've used a longer piece of left over paper to create a tag to place in the pocket.
Again, you can journal or just leave as pretty eye candy!

...and we're moving ahead to the last page and the back cover...

For the last page I've once again used a pre made card panel from the collection and trimmed it to
5 3/4"x 5 3/4".  I've added some corner die cuts to frame the image as it's just too pretty to cover up with anything.  Before adhering the bottom corner die cut, I've cut out one of the sentiments and adhered it to the page.  The back cover is identical to the first inside cover, the pocket has just been added to the opposite side.  Once again I've used pre made card panels and trimmed them to various sizes to act as photo mats or journaling cards.

...and last of all is the outside back cover...I've left it very plain with just some pretty patterned paper...

I think a mini album like this would make a beautiful prayer journal, or a record keeper of your flower garden with some beautiful pictures.  The ideas are endless.  It would be the perfect gift for a friend or loved one!

I hope you've enjoyed this little tour!
I know it's been quite photo heavy...and a tad wordy!
Thanks again for stopping by, and be sure to check out the other creations on the Heartfelt Creations blog for more gorgeous inspiration by the rest of the design team!

Until next time...
