Best Wishes Fuchsia Card

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday here on the blog!
I trust you've been enjoying the newest collection and all of the wonderful creations the design team have been creating for your pleasure & inspiration!

The card I designed this week is an any occasion card!  It could be used as a "Thinking of You", "Just Because" or even a wedding card with that beautiful oval die cut peeking through the floral cluster!

Let's take a peek...

I love the message on this card..."Beauty in the Simple Things"...really that is what life is all about and Heartfelt Creations captures that so perfectly in their papers and flowers!  Far too often we don't take time to enjoy the simpler things because our schedules are so jam packed full of things to do!  We take for granted those moments of peace and quiet, the love of friends and family...all those things that require nothing of us but to be still, listen and enjoy!

Before we take a closer look at the beautiful fuchsia flowers, I wanted to explain to you what I did a little differently this time.  The largest fuchsia bloom has been shaped using every fuchsia die cut in every size in this collection.  I've started with the largest flower to be the base of the bloom and have built the flower in halves.  I've gone down by size in the layering...the second largest shape has filled half of the base flower... the next size down fills the other half.  Then you continue shaping and filling until you have used all of the flower pieces. I've put in a double stamen as well...and it fits perfectly between the two halves of the flower centre so they really are centred!  I recently picked up a beautiful fuchsia hanging basket at the greenhouse and the blossoms were so full I decided to try to replicate them.  I then added the largest top to the flower...and the other two top pieces I've used to shape into a small bud!  Lastly I've added pearls to the top of the flower to give them the appearance of actually hanging from the vine.

Let's take a look...

The flowers have all been heat embossed with Bridal Embossing powder.  I've then added some Diamond Stickles to the petal edges and some Pink Taffeta Stickles to the other areas of the flowers.
(You can find full instructions for this creation at the end of this blog post.)

I do hope you've found some inspiration here today!

Other Products Used:  Memento Dye Ink Pad - Grey Flannel, Versafine Black ink, VersaColor Pine Cone ink, half pearls, whole pearls, lilac seam binding, ribbon, Stickles - Diamond & Pink Taffeta, Spellbinders Die - Standard Circles (LG),  Spectrum Noir blendable pencils - 032, 036, 041, 048 & 060, Spectrum Noir blending solution, Spectrum Noir blending stump, water, mist bottle, scissors, white card stock,  Zig 2 Way Glue Pen, scor tape, Stampin' Up Circle Punch, 3D pop dots, heat tool,

Begin with a 5"x7" card base.  Choose a soft patterned paper from the collection for your background, cut to fit card and ink all edges using a brown colored ink.   Next choose a patterned paper to go over the the first paper,  covering it fully to both side edges, but allowing a section of the initial paper to show through on the top and bottom. Ink all edges with brown ink. Adhere two pieces together.  Die cut the decorative oval using white card stock.  Adhere to centre of card as shown.  Locate the card panel with the circle image as shown on card.  Die cut using the Spellbinders circle die.  Ink edges with brown ink and adhere to side of card as shown.  Cut out sentiment strip from the paper collection, ink with brown color and adhere to card.  Adhere ribbon to both top of sentiment strip as well as bottom using scor tape.  Stamp sentiment circle using grey ink and die cut.  Using a punch or circle die, create a background piece for the sentiment circle using coordinating paper.  Pleat the seam binding ribbon around the back of the sentiment circle.  Apply to card using 3D pop dots.  Stamp the vining fuchsia image onto white card stock and color using blendable pencils and blending solution.  Fussy cut to use as background for foliage and flowers.  Stamp all three fuchsia sizes onto white card stock and heat emboss.  Apply pink color for top of flowers.  For the largest bloom, layer all of the flowers once shaped into one, working from your largest to your smallest.  (I've used the largest flower as the base and then used the next sizes down to fill it in.  I've actually put one flower on one half of the inside of the large flower and then filled in the other half with another shaped flower so later I will have a centre between them to add the double stamens.  I've continued this until I have used all of the flowers I have stamped and embossed.  I've then used the two larger stamens and adhered them to the centre.) Using the two star shaped portions of the flowers that you have left over, shape them into a ball to form a bud.  Stamp the mid sized fuchsia set and heat emboss.  Add color to the top of the flower, shape and put together.  Repeat with the small sized fuchsia set.  Stamp several of the leaf images using black ink and lightly color using blendable pencils.  Apply several shades of green colored inks to just the edges of the leaves.  Shape and set aside to dry.  Using the swirling leaf die from the Cut Mat Create 2A, die cut one die cut and snip into various pieces to use as fillers.  Arrange leaves, flowers and swirls and once happy with arrangement adhere to card.  Apply half pearls to decorative oval die cut and whole pearls to the tops of each of the flowers and bud.  Create bow and add to card.  Apply stickles to each petal of the flowers.  You now have a beautiful any occasion card ready to send to someone special to let them know you've been thinking of them!  Enjoy!

Friendship Blooms

Welcome back to another Wednesday Heartfelt Creations post!
The sneak peeks will have given you a glimpse into the beautiful new collection released today!
I have to say that the fuschia is one of my favorite flowers to plant in patio pots for on my decks....then I get to see my hummingbirds close up as they love these delicate flowers!

Here's a little about the collection...

Heartfelt Creations invites you to join us for a stroll through a quaint cottage garden where your cares will melt away and your creative energy will be refreshed and renewed.  The Cascading Fuchsia Collection of stamps, dies and papers is bursting with lush greenery and exquisite beauty.  Here, you'll find pendant shaped clusters of show-stopping pink, purple and magenta blossoms that are also called "Angel's Earrings."  Graceful vines, lacy patterns, flitting butterflies, shady bowers and delicate latticework come together and form this restful haven.  It's a celebration of the simple things that fill this moment in time with wonder and spontaneous joy.  Cascading Fuchsia: It's a flawless garden of peerless delight and a creative sanctuary for the artist in you

I was in the mood to sit and watercolor and when I saw the beautiful image in the Fucshia Bouquet Cling Stamp Set, I knew I wanted to make it the main focal point of the card.  So, I stamped the image and hauled out the distress markers and some paint brushes and set to work.  Once the image was done, I decided to watercolor the background in a vintage cream color as well to give it an aged look.  To add to the aged look of the creation, I also gave it a few drips from one of my vintage colored mists/sprays.

Here is how it turned out...

I then set about to stamping and water coloring the flowers and leaves and proceeded to shape them.
Such intricate beautiful 3D blooms the talented artistic designers have created for this collection.  Their creativity and artwork never cease to amaze me!

Here's a close up of the flowers and leaves...

Before I go, let me encourage you to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the jaw dropping creations that the rest of the design team have created!  You won't be disappointed...and maybe while you're there take a cruise through the online store for this collection...I have a sneaking suspicion that this one will sell out early!

Until next time...

Create a top fold card using cream colored card stock by cutting two pieces measuring 5"x7" and then making a fold at the top of one of them.  Adhere the fold to the top of the other piece of cardstock to form your card base.  Stamp image onto water color paper and color using watercolor brush and  distress markers.  (I prefer to scribble color onto my work mat and lift off of there with the brush). Once completely dry, using sponge distress ink tool,  add some Antique Linen ink to various areas around the image.  Then using the same technique apply Vintage Photo ink to various areas around the image.  Remove lid from Mr. Huey's spray and allow small drops of color to drop onto image.  Set aside.  Using a manual die cutting machine, cut the Spellbinders Heirloom Legacy piece from a fuschia colored patterned paper from the paper collection.  Using the same paper, cut a background for behind the image just slightly larger than the die cut.  Locate a purple pattened paper from the paper collection and cut it to just slightly larger than that of the piece you've just cut from the fushia paper.  Now trim your image so it can be sandwiched between the die cut and the background paper.  Adhere the fuschia colored background paper to the purple background paper, and then the watercolored image to the fuschia paper.  Apply 3D pop dots to the die cut to form a window for the image.  Stamp the large and mid sized flower images onto white card stock to create your shaped flowers.  Color using same technique as the main image.  Using coordinating die and manual die cutting machine, cut out flower pieces.  Using mists of water and flower shaping tools, shape and assemble with liquid adhesive.  Using the Classic Leaf Cling Stamp Set and black ink, stamp three bunches of leaves.  Color and then shape.  Assemble leaf and flower cluster in top corner, and once happy with design adhere using liquid adhesive. Place decorative hairpin in among leaves and blooms. Lastly, locate the sentiment you wish to use on the bottom of the card from the paper pack and cut to size.  Adhere using 3D pop dots.  You now have an "any occasion" card ready to bless someone with the next time you need one!
