More Christmas Wishes...

Hello Everyone!

Can you believe I'm posting again so quickly?  LOL

Sometimes it seems as though there's nothing going on here....and then boom...I find a little creativity!  LOL

So, yesterday my daughter and I went to the Christmas Open House at The Scrapbook Cottage!

I knew I had a few items stashed away for me there...and c'mon, let's be honest...a good old fashioned craft store Christmas Open House is definitely the way to boost your creativity for all of those holiday cards you dream of making!

Well, on my list was a winter bird stamp from Penny Black called Snowy Perch...and it was one that I had been waiting to get my hands on since the moment I saw it during their reveal!

I love birds and I thought this would make a wonderful winter themed card or Christmas card.

So, instead of having a nap this afternoon, I headed downstairs into my little craft room and got that stamp all inked up and watercolored.  

Would you like to see how it turned out?

I gave this little creation a water color feel using Distress Ink Reinkers and after it was all dried, matted and adhered to the card base I added some snow using a white gel pen.  I also added a touch of glitter to just a few of the snow flakes to give it a Christmas shimmer.  Christmas projects always require some glitter, don't they?

Now wouldn't this just be the perfect holiday card for the nature enthusiast or bird watcher?

I think my Grandma would have loved this card as she loved birds just as I do!

A Little Playtime in the Craft Room...

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick pop in today to show you a little something I threw together in the craft room this morning!

We woke up to no hydro, gusty winds and ....SNOW!!!

Now, I know I live in Manitoba, Canada and can expect the white stuff any time now...but this seems super early!  

Well, the kiddos managed to get ready through the use of flashlights and candlelight and caught the bus in time.  But, don't you know that the hydro came back on just a few minutes after they left!  LOL

I decided I would allow myself 1 hour in the craft room to feel sorry

 for myself about the weather!

I had a new Penny Black stamp that I had been wanting to ink up and decided this would be the perfect time...after all...the stamp looked like my yard with all the snow, etc.  However, I decided that even though my card would depict a snowy scene I could still add a lovely sunset and not the blustery wind I was enduring!

Are you ready to see how it all came together?

I really enjoyed working on this and got to try a few new techniques that I had discovered on the Penny Black YouTube channel! It came together quite quickly and easily!

I had a Christmas card in mind when I started creating this, but think that really this would work as a winter birthday or thinking of you card as well!

Now, I've added this card to my Etsy shop...so if you're interested act quickly, as each card I produce is a one of a kind!  I never make the same exact card twice...and never create the same in bulk!

Snowflakes...Just An Unassembled Snowman

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening depending on where you are visiting from.

As I schedule this post to go live, I'm sitting outside with my hubby enjoying our deck!  Today we have finally received some warm and sunny weather here in Manitoba, Canada and we're all ready to soak it in.  The hummingbirds have finally made an appearance at my feeders and the dog is starting to shed his fur...it has to be spring now...right?

It's another Friday already...where is the time going?  And being Friday, we have a new challenge for you at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long!  

We're really taking it easy on you again this week...our theme is once again...

"Anything Goes"

I have to say that I feel like a cheated a little on this card.  I've used a Penny Black sticker as my focal point.  This is a smaller sized card...the size of a note card, and these stickers work perfectly for this size!  It's a quick card to make, assemble, add some stickles for interest and voila!

I think they are actually really cute!

(Not every card has to be hand colored, right?)

A Pastel Christmas

Happy Easter!  

He is Risen...He is Risen Indeed!

I hope you find yourself among family or friends today celebrating the sacrifice that was made for us thousands of years ago!  Today is a true day of celebration as we remember the empty tomb!  

Now, as we are celebrating Easter, I find it funny that I'm sharing with you a Christmas card I created a week ago while at a card making crop.  I worked the entire weekend on Christmas cards to get a jump on the cards I need for the craft sale I attend in November. 

But, if you think about it, Christmas is truly the beginning of the Easter story!  Jesus came as a baby, grew up and came to complete his task of seeking and saving the lost!

If you will recall, our current challenge over at Unstampabelles is to use a bird or animal on your card and to use pastel colors.  (Remember, no stamping allowed).  

Here's my mid month card for the challenge...

The image is a Penny Black Christmas sticker.  I love these!  Not only are they gorgeous, but they make the fastest cards.  The sentiment is a sticker from a pack I purchased at our local dollar store.  

I've added some stickles to the snow and the berries on the branches.  

And voila...it's the fastest card ever!
