A Heartfelt Creations Surprise...

Did you see the little write up that Emma Lou from Heartfelt Creations left on the HC blog last week about having a little secret surprise for today's post?
If you read it, did you catch the hint and come up with any idea of what it might be?

Here's a quick hint...it's something that the Heartfelt Creations customers were asking for and ties in with the Peacock Paisley Collection.
That's right, there have been three new dies added to the collection that have been released today!
There are two dies that coordinate with the peacock images in the collection, and a coordinating die for the peacock feather as well!
Woo Hoo...now didn't Heartfelt Creations come through!

So, to celebrate the new release, I've created a card using one of the new dies!

Here's a peek...

I've created my own background paper using just white card stock, the Peacock Paisley stamp, my Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils and some blending solution.  A designer paper strip from the paper collection along with a sentiment strip make quick additional interest elements to the card.  I've used a dark blue ink to stamp the image on the centre of the pre made card panel.  I've stamped the peacock image in black ink and colored with my blendable pencils as well.  I decided to make this peacock extra regal by actually using the flowers on his tail, with the largest bloom acting as plume feathers along with the shaped leaves in the background.  The colors of the flowers on this card had me working wwwaaayyy out of my comfort zone.  I am one of those people that likes my flowers to look like those in nature...daisies are white, yellow, mauve, etc.  It used to drive me crazy when I worked at the florist shop when we would spray paint real flowers all sorts of odd, out of the ordinary colors.  I think in the case of this card, the odd and out of the ordinary flowers seem to work and I'm ok with how they came out!  LOL

Here's a closer look...

Of course such a regal bird deserves some shimmer and sparkle.  I've used several different colors of Stickles on the flowers and added some sequins around the bird image itself.  The centres of the flowers are simply gold colored seed beads purchased at the local Dollar Tree.
(For full detailed instructions, please see end of blog post)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed the surprise that we at Heartfelt Creations have had for you today!
These new dies were highly requested ideas from HC customers, and I have no doubt that they will be well received...so don't wait too long before you snatch yours up!
The Heartfelt Creations blog is chalked full of fantastic creations again this week, so be sure to stop by there on your way to the online store!

Until next time...

Cut a 5" x 7" piece of white card stock.  Create your own background paper on the white card stock using black ink and the Peacock Paisley stamp.  Color using blendable pencils and blending solution.  Locate the small pre made card panel in the paper collection as shown, as well as the small blue floral piece of designer paper. Using a dark blue ink, stamp the floral image in the white  centre area of the pre made card panel after masking off the areas that you do not wish to have the image overlap.  Mat the card panel using the blue floral paper as the background.  Now, locate the decorative strip as shown on the side of the card along with the sentiment strip.  Trim each to fit card as shown.  Adhere decorative strip to side of the card, following with the matted premade card panel.  Next adhere the sentiment strip as shown.  Using black ink and white card stock, stamp one peacock image.  Color and blend using pencils and blending solution.  Cut using a manual die cutting machine and the coordinating peacock die.  Adhere to card front as shown using 3D pop dots.  Using dark blue ink and white card stock stamp one inking of the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set.  Using finger sponge daubers, first apply yellow ink to the centres, teal to the mid section of each bloom and then a dark green to the edges of each flower gently blending the colors as you go.  Cut using the coordinating die and manual die cutting machine.  Shape using a mist of water and the deluxe flower shaping kit.  Build each double bloom and adhere to peacock image as shown. Apply gold seed beads to the centres of each flower.  Using a piece of bluish green patterned paper from the paper collection, stamp two images of the small leaf in the Delightful Daisies set using a dark blue ink.  Shape using a mist of water and the deluxe flower shaping tool kit.  Adhere both leaves behind the large flower on the peacock image.  Add sequins around the peacock as desired.  Using your fingertip, apply Ice Blue Stickles to the centres of each of the petals on all of the flowers.  After the initial stickles have dried, apply Diamond Stickles to each of the tips of the flower petals using the tip of the bottle.  Also apply some Diamond Stickles to the body of the peacock as well. Lastly adhere your card front to a 5" x 7" white card base. You now have an any occasion card ready to bless someone special.

Peacock Treat Box

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
So happy you are able to stop by and visit with me today!
I hope you've been enjoying all of the design team creations featuring the Peacock Paisley Collection. I am so blessed to be working with such a creative and accomplished bunch!

This week I decided that I wanted to create something fun and a little out of the ordinary!
I started searching the web for a peacock SVG cutting file and found the cutest treat box!
I immediately knew this was something I could work with...only I was going to give it a Heartfelt Creations touch!

Are you ready?

How fun is that!
Wouldn't you love receiving some chocolates, or nail polish, or gift cards in a fun peacock treat box like this?  Wouldn't it immediately brighten your day and bring a smile to your face!?!

Here's a bit of a close up of the body portion and some of the elements...

You can see all the shimmer and shine I've added to the flowers using Stickles, and the feathers on the body as well.  I had originally added just the jewels to the tail feathers when I asked my hubby to come take a peek...he insisted that it needed a little more bling...huh?  LOL
He never pays attention to that sort of stuff!
I usually get a "that looks nice" and that's the end of the conversation.
Well, I decided to add a few sequins to the tail feathers as well...and I do declare that I do believe hubby was on to something!

I've given this peacock the Heartfelt Creations twist by turning one of the stamped images into the feathery tail feathers that you see on the top.  I've also used several other stamped images directly behind the body treat box. When you are working with SVG cutting files, it's sometimes fun to think outside the box and see how you can incorporate other elements such as stamped images, other die cuts, etc.  In this case, using the stamped images as tail feathers, the whole creation has been taken up a notch.  The peacock now has an airy and feathery look. (You can find full instructions on how this project has been created at the end of this blog post.)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's share...not sure we can claim this as a beautiful moment...but a fun one at least!
I hope that I've been able to inspire you, and hopefully bring a smile to your face!
There are so many more wonderful and inspiring projects on the Heartfelt Creations blog.
Be sure to stop by and take a peek...and maybe you'll even get a teaser on the next new collection coming in April.

Until next time...

Other Products Used:  Fleurette Bloom Peacock Palace SVG cutting file, Silhouette Cameo electronic die cutting machine,  Black Versafine Ink, Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils (011, 043, 046, 048, 051, 055, 062, 063, 064, 072, 074), Spectrum Noir Blending Solution, Spectrum Noir blending stump, assorted colored jewels, Diamond Stickles, Patina Stickles, BigShot manual die cutting machine, white card stock, sequins, scissors, finger dauber, Dandelion Memento ink

Begin by choosing the papers from the paper collection that you wish to use for each piece of the peacock in the SVG cutting file and cut using your electronic die cutting machine.  Set aside pieces.  Stamp seven stampings of the large floral image in the Daisy Flourish Cling Stamp Set onto blue and green patterned paper in the Peacock Paisley Collection using black ink.  Color using blendable pencils and blending solution. Fussy cut each piece.  Now stamp several stampings of the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set using black ink on white card stock.  Color the centres only using a finger dauber and yellow ink. Die cut using the coordinating die.  (You will need seven double small flowers for the ends of the peacock tail feathers, seven single large/mid sized flowers to use between the tail feathers, as well as one mid sized flower paired to create a double bloom to use at the base of the peacock's tail.)  Shape the flowers that need shaping, and create the double blooms.  Apply prills to the centre of each small double flower.   Adhere them to the matching flower on the stamped Daisy Flourish image.  Adhere the large/mid sized flowers to the stamped image as well.  Moving along, stamp one stamping of the large flower image in the Feathered Daisy Cling Stamp Set as well as two stampings of the feather image in the Feathery Peacock Cling Stamp Set onto the same blue/green paper from the paper collection you have been using to create the tail feathers. Color each of these and again blend with blending solution and fussy cut.  Follow SVG cutting file directions to put together the treat box for the peacock's body.  Adhere two largest pieces of the tail together.  Now lay out the seven stamped images you've completed making sure that the smaller double flowers are to the top of the tail and the large flowers are peeking through the areas where they will be visible when the next layer of tail feathers are added.  Once you are happy with the arrangement, adhere them to the two larger tail pieces that you have already put together.  Proceed to add the last two small tail pieces to the rest of the tail and assemble and adhere the rest of the project. Once your project is completely assembled,  take the two feather images and adhere them to the bottom portion of the tail near the opening of the treat box.  Now adhere the flower stamped image over top the feather images directly in the centre of the treat box.  Apply the last shaped flower to the stamped image over the matching stamped flower at the base of the tail. Add a jewel to the centre of this flower. Continue to add jewels to the centres of each of the cut outs in the peacocks tail, as well to each of the larger flowers peeking through the tail feathers. Add some sequins to the tail feathers where you desire.   Apply Diamond Stickles to each daisy on the creation, and  Patina Stickles to the feather cut outs on the body on the treat box.  Add a special treat to the box and have fun presenting this unique packaging to a special friend or family member!

A Regal Celebration

Hi there!
I'm back today with another creative project with Heartfelt Creations!  I once again have been playing with the Peacock Paisley Collection!
The beautiful colors, shapes and flowers are stunning!

I decided to create a card that was fit for any type of regal celebration you may need a card on hand for.  Perfect for an anniversary, a promotion, special birthday, retirement, etc.

Here's how it came out...

...and here's a close up of part of the flower cluster...

Since the daisy is my favorite flower of all time, (and yes I'd seriously rather have a bouquet of daisies than roses), I have absolutely fallen in love with this stamp and die set!
This is such a playful collection and I love the whimsical swirls and paisley shapes!
I've used embossing enamel, stickles and lumiere pearl paint to bring the whole card up a notch...giving it a very rich and regal shine.

Well, that's all for me today...short and sweet!
Please do stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to check out the other gorgeous creations the team have been busy making for your inspiration.  Each and every one of us tries so hard to bring forward a creation that will inspire you to make something of your own....the designers really do craft from the heart!

Until next time...

Other Products Used:  scor tape, Stampin Up Basic Black ink,  Gray Flannel Memento ink, Dandelion Memento Ink,  Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils 045, 046, 011, 086, Spectrum Noir blending stumps, Spectrum Noir Blending solution, Gold Stickles, finger daubers, BigShot die cutting machine, Spellbinders Classic Ovals (Lg), Stampin Up Lumiere Acrylic Pearl White Paint, Aged Hunter Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamel, heat tool, 3D pop dots, flower shaping tools and mat

Locate the printed peacock image shown on one of the 12x12 papers in the collection.  Cut out the image just slightly smaller than the 5"x7" card front, allowing a white border of the card front to show around the edges.  Sprinkle embossing enamel onto the four corners of the image and melt onto paper using heat tool.  Using the second largest oval die, die cut the lower corner of the paper as shown in example, setting aside the die cut piece to use  later.  Die cut a white oval using the next smaller oval die.  Stamp the small flower image onto the white oval using the small stamp in the Peacock Swirls Cling Stamp set.  Once dry, color the image using blendable pencils and blending solution.  Pop the white image die cut onto the green die cut using 3D pop dots.  Being careful to match up the dimensional piece with the opening in the card, adhere the popped up die cut to the card base.  Using pop dots, apply the card panel to the card front as well.  Stamp flowers in gray ink and once dry, die cut using the coordinating die. Color the petals using a yellow blending pencil and blend with solution.  Ink the centres of the flowers using the orange (cantaloupe) colored ink.  Ink each of the petal tips with a yellow color.  Shape flowers as shown.  Once flowers are shaped, brush each one with a coat of pearl white acrylic paint.  Stamp leaves in light green ink and die cut once dried as well.  Ink all edges with a darker green ink and shape. Locate the decorative border as seen on the bottom of the card in the paper pack and trim to fit the bottom of the card.  Cut out the sentiment you wish to use from the paper pack as well and apply.  Arrange the leaves and flowers into a cluster.  Once happy with the arrangement adhere to card.  Lastly, apply stickles to the petals of each flower with your finger tip.  Then apply a small amount of stickles straight from the bottle onto the tip of each shaped flower, as well as the centres.  Don't forget to apply stickles to the stamped image as well.  You are now ready for the next celebratory occasion that requires a regal looking greeting card!

There's Only One You

Greetings!
I'm so excited today because it's a new reveal day with Heartfelt Creations!
Have you seen the sneak peeks?
This is such a fun and stunningly gorgeous collection!

Here's a little bit about it....

Brighten your world with the sparkling colors and mesmerizing motifs of Peacock Paisley, the exquisite spring release from Heartfelt Creations.  This lush collection sparkles with jewel tones of topaz, sapphire, amber, emerald and turquoise.  The artistic flair of exotic peacocks, intricate paisleys, frilled feathers and delightful daisies will captivate your imagination and energize your creativity.  Six sumptuous sets of intricately designed, deeply etched red rubber stamps are the perfect companions to a vibrant paper collection that is overflowing with card fronts, cut apart pages, vivid artwork, pre-designed layouts and beautifully layered backgrounds.  The Delightful Daisy Die cuts 7 perfect floral layers with one pass through your cutting system.  Whether you want to preserve life's most beautiful moments, create with mixed media techniques or design keepsake cards, you'll be proud as a peacock to present the sophisticated elegance of Peacock Paisley.

Now when I think of peacocks, I think of beautiful and gorgeous over the top birds!
The colors that these birds display are absolutely amazing!
I've tried to capture this in this weeks card...including the feeling of their large open show when they strut around with their plume feathers on display...you'll see what I'm talking about in just a moment!

I fancied to do some coloring with my Spectrum Noir blendable pencils on the image that I chose to work with.  I always think they lend themselves to a softer coloring than the markers.
Of course I also wanted to add some sparkle and shine to the creation to mimic the gorgeous shine a peacock has when the sunlight hits it's open feathers!  I've tried to accomplish that look with Stickles and sequins!
I found a sentiment that I thought fit the card just perfectly..."There's Only One You" ...it's a message that would be perfectly paired with a peacock image to send to that friend who is just all around fun, over the top and whose personality is larger than life!

Enough description!

Let's take a look at how this creation came out!

When I saw the half circle die in my stash, I knew that I need to use it as a card topper to give the card a certain presence.  I also thought it really resembled the look of the fan shape of the peacock's tail and that it would really make the flowers pop at the top of the card!

Here's a closer look at the grouping...

I just love all the shimmer and shine on this card!
I've included all the supplies and directions on how I've created this card for you at the end of this blog post should you be interested...
