As I type this, I'm preparing to head on holidays!
We've always made it a tradition to head out camping the day that the kids are out of school...so by the time you read this we'll be sitting by the fire watching the fire flies light up the night!
Anywhoo...today is I'm showcasing one last Botanic Orchid Collection card. On a side note, have you seen the sneak peek of the "Celebrate the Season" Collection?
That's right...it's going to be Christmas in July!
Back to the task at hand!
I decided that I was going to create a card with lots of layers this time to show off the beautiful papers in this collection. I also decided since I was short on time I would die cut the coordinating preprinted images found in the collection.
Here's how it turned out...
I chose to add a paper doily to add a feminine touch to the creation. I've also cut the border from the Fleur Pocket Dies. I've added it on the left had side of the preprinted image panel...if you peek through the fussy cut corner piece on the left hand side, you'll see it there peeking through...it's been cut out of pink patterned paper from the paper collection.
I chose to do some fussy cutting on this project as well. The side corner piece on the left side of the project has all been fussy cut from one of the square premade card panel. I've cut the top corner from the same card panel...both of these fussy cut elements have been popped up off the card base.
I've also die cut the orchid cluster with the coordinating die which matches the images found in the paper collection. I fussy cut the smaller rounded accent piece as well, and then snipped it into three pieces, shaped it and added it on top of the flower arrangement to give it additional dimension. It too has been popped off the card base with dimensional dots.
The hummingbirds have all been die cut from the paper collection as well using the coordinating die. I've added a few of them to give the card the feeling of being a busy hummingbird garden!
The quick addition of a premade sentiment also found in the paper collection and you've created a quick and easy, yet beautiful card perfect for that special friend or loved one.

Other Products Used: white card stock, VersaColor Pine Cone ink, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Glitter Ritz, doily, pop dots, paper trimmer, scissors, scor tape
Create card base measuring 6"x6" using white card stock. Locate 6"x6" premade background panel as shown and trim slightly smaller than the card base. Ink all edges with a light brown ink and adhere to card base. Now locate the main focal hummingbird card panel, as well as the rectangular panel piece showcasing orchids along the top (you will see a partial piece of it on the card example peeking up above the top of the hummingbird panel). Trim and ink all edges with a light brown ink. Die cut the straight floral border from the Fleur Borders and Pockets die collection and adhere die cut to left side of hummingbird panel. Adhere second background piece to card base off to the left hand side. Apply doily and then main hummingbird image panel as shown. Locate 6"x6" card base in the paper collection that has the decorative elements shown here on the left hand side of the card, and the upper right hand corner. Fussy cut, ink all edges with a light brown ink and then adhere to card using dimensional pop dots. Using the coordinating dies to the orchid bouquet, the small curved orchid spray as well as the hummingbirds, die cut each embellishment from the preprinted images in the paper collection. Using pop dots adhere orchid bouquet to card as shown. Trim the orchid spray into three pieces, separating the flowers, and shaped slightly with your flower shaping kit and adhere to orchid spray to give it some fullness and dimension. Shape the sitting hummingbird and perch him on the orchid spray as shown. Locate the sentiment of your choice, adhere to card and then add hummingbird to sentiment as well as another hummer to top corner as shown. Using a dries clear glue and a metal fine tip, adhere glitter to flowers.
