Clean and Simple Classic Roses...

Welcome!
I'm so glad you've taken time out of your busy day to visit here today!

I have something a little bit different to share with you...it's a clean and simple design...the type I  usually shy away from...but the larger rose image in the Classic Rose Collection by Heartfelt Creations just deserved to be showcased in a simple fashion where all eyes are drawn to it!
Add the fact that we're blog hopping this month with Chameleon Markers, and I knew I would just do some coloring and create a very simple Sympathy Card.

Here's how the project turned out...

I've done some dimensional matting, as well as a touch of dry embossing on the white background paper.  A few sequins and the creation was complete!

Here's a closer look at that gorgeous rose image...

It has been a pure treat pulling out my Chameleon Markers again!  I had not played with them much until it was announced that we would be doing a collaborative hop with Chameleon Markers!  It takes a little to get the hang of these markers, but just as with flower shaping...practice practice and practice will get you there!
My coloring is not as perfect as I would like it to be...but it will get there!

Be sure to hop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to get all of the details on the giveaways and qualifications to be eligible for the prizes being offered by Heartfelt Creations and Chameleon Markers.  While you're there, be sure to take in the other amazing creations the rest of the design team have created for your inspirations!

Until next time...

Lighthouse...

Hello again!
It seems this is the week of posts for guest designing!

Recently I was acknowledged for one of my creations at Through the Craft Room Door...it was actually my Peacock treat box that was highlighted as a favorite.  Well, along with that came a chance to guest design for them....so here I am!

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to pick my digi stamp from the very talented Oak Pond Creations.  Since I had been just working with the more masculine line of paper at Heartfelt Creations I decided to keep going and create a masculine card to showcase.
I chose the Lighthouse digital stamp!

I wanted to keep it more clean and simple this time....

I've colored the image with my new Chameleon markers!  They are super fun...although I will have to spend a little more time with them to learn how to use them to their fullest potential!  Here's a small tip for you though...always use a scrap paper under the image when coloring...my kitchen table has a new mark and thin layer of paper adhered to it.  I'm really hoping it will fade out after a bit more cleaning!  LOL

I've then inked the edges of all of the papers with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  Using a distress ink tool, I've added in some distress ink in Vintage Photo and Antiqued Linen to the image.  I've also sprinkled some stone colored distressed embossing powder over the image and set it with my heat too.  I've die cut the ornate die and anchor from my Heartfelt Creations Everyday Heroes dies.  The image has been matted on black card stock and then adhered to the ornate die, which has then been popped off the card with 3D pop dots.  I've added a few pieces of washi tape to the area where the anchor has been applied and the sentiment stamp comes from one of the stamps in my Stampin Up collection.
A touch of baby blue stickles on the waves to give a little shimmer and the card was completed.

Now you have a chance to link up a creation with Through the Craft Room Door.  Their challenges are always "Anything Goes" so its super easy to play along!
You never know...you may just be their next guest designer!

Until next time...

Cut a small strip of teal patterned paper (the same as you used for the background) to place vertically on the side of the card on the patterned black card stock behind where the image will be place.  Print off and color digi image.  Using a distress ink tool, work some of each the distress inks onto various parts of the image giving it an aged and weathered look. Ink all edges of the image panel using brown ink. Sprinkle some Pumice Stone distress embossing powder to various parts of the card and set using a heat tool.  Mat the image onto a plain black cardstock.  Die cut the ornate die using a brown patterned paper and a manual die cutting machine.  Ink the edges of the die cut using a brown ink.   Adhere the ornate die cut to the back of the matted image.   Apply washi tape horizontally on the side of the card opposite of where you have applied the strip of teal patterned paper.  Adhere image to card using 3D pop dots to create dimension.  Die cut the anchor in solid black card stock and adhere over washi tape.  Stamp sentiment and ink all edges in brown colored ink.  Adhere to card using 3D pop dots on one end and some scor tape on the end that will lay flat against the image.    For the finishing touch add some baby blue Stickles to the waves around the lighthouse.  You now have a masculine card ready to use for the next occasion you are needing one!
