Clean and Simple Classic Roses...

I'm so glad you've taken time out of your busy day to visit here today!

I have something a little bit different to share with you...it's a clean and simple design...the type I  usually shy away from...but the larger rose image in the Classic Rose Collection by Heartfelt Creations just deserved to be showcased in a simple fashion where all eyes are drawn to it!

   Add the fact that we're blog hopping this month with Chameleon Markers, and I knew I would just do some coloring and create a very simple Sympathy Card.  

Here's how the project turned out...

I've done some dimensional matting, as well as a touch of dry embossing on the white background paper.  A few sequins and the creation was complete!

It has been a pure treat pulling out my Chameleon Markers again!  I had not played with them much until it was announced that we would be doing a collaborative hop with Chameleon Markers!  It takes a little to get the hang of these markers, but just as with flower shaping...practice practice and practice will get you there!

My coloring is not as perfect as I would like it to be...but it will get there!

Other Products Used:  black card stock, white card stock, embossing folder (design unknown), paper trimmer, dimensional foam tape, Chameleon Markers - Crimson Red, Olive Grove, Sky Blue, silver sequins, BigShot die cutting machine, scissors, ATG gun, VersaFine Black Ink

Create a 5"x7" card base using white card stock.  Trim a piece of black card stock just slightly smaller than card base and adhere to card front.  Emboss a white piece of card stock slightly smaller than the black mat and dry emboss using embossing folder and manual die cutting machine.  Adhere to card front using dimensional foam tape.  Stamp rose image onto white card stock using black ink.  Color using Chameleon Markers.  Stamp sentiment under image using black ink.  Trim image down to desired size and mat onto black card stock slightly larger than the image panel.  Using dimensional foam tape adhere to card front.  Using dries clear adhesive, adhere silver sequins to card as shown.

Please Note:  The flowers on this creation have been made using Ranger crafting metal sheets  as mentioned in the instructions.  This way they are still able to be shaped easily...only the leaves have been created using tin foil.

I'm back today to share a card with you that I've created with a bit of a different twist!

Let's take a look at the creation...and then I'll explain...

A thought came to my mind one night just as I was drifting off to sleep...this collection would look awesome with some metal sheet flowers!  

Here's a closer look at the flowers and the leaves...

Now...as all crafters do...you sometimes run a little low on certain supplies...well the day I created this was one of those unlucky days!  LOL

I wracked my brain and wondered what I could use to create the leaves for the creation, when it hit me....tinfoil!
So I headed into the kitchen, got myself some tin foil and headed back into the craft room to give it a try!  Bingo...it worked perfectly!  Now, since the tin foil is a little thin, I embossed the stamped leaf images with black embossing powder and my heat tool to give it a little more stability. I die cut the images with the coordinating die being very careful when removing it from the metal die as the foil is so delicate.  I then snipped the leaves into the perfect sized pieces and adhered them to the creation.  I used just my finger to shape a few of the leaves slightly.  I decided to add a few more interesting elements to the creation including some Mr. Huey's spray, two metal vintage style flower embellishments, some wound crafting wire,  as well as a multicolored ribbon.  For complete instructions to recreate this card, please see the Supplies and Instructions section below.

Create your card base using white card stock measuring 10" x 6 1/2". Locate the 6"x6" card panel in the paper collection with the blue floral pattern and cut to fit card blank...the bottom portion will have to be married together to the top portion at the bottom using scor tape to cover the entire card front.  Cut your craft metal sheet to 5 1/2" x 4" and emboss using a manual die cutting machine and the Retro Circles embossing folder.  Next, cut the largest die cut using the Spellbinders Pearl Effect die using a light teal patterned paper from the Everyday Heroes paper collection.  Ink the edges with a brown colored ink.  Locate the small card panel in the paper collection featuring a blank oval, and cut to size to fit the teal colored die cut.  Mask off the area around the oval and stamp the ship image onto the small card panel.  Moving along to die cutting the ornate shape from the Everyday Heroes die collection along with the circle cut.  Using washi tape to hold down the ornate die, centre the Spellbinders circle die in the centre of the ornate die and apply washi tape to hold it down as well.  Run through manual die cutting machine.  Apply a brad to the top of the ornate die and one to the bottom.  Locate the small globe image within the paper collection and die cut using the matching globe die in the die collection. Adhere ornate die cut over the stamped ship image.  Then apply the stamped image piece to the Spellbinders Pearl Effect die cut, and lastly then adhere the metal sheet to the back of the layers.  Now tie double bow and adhere to card.  Using several 3D pop dots, add the focal point of the card to the background.  Locate the globe image you die cut previously and adhere it to the card as shown using several 3D pop dots.  Next, to achieve the spotted look on the images, remove the spray nozzle and hold it above the card.  Gently tap the the nozzle in the air above the card until you have the look you wish to achieve.  Proceed to repeat with second color.  Set aside to dry.  Moving along to the flowers.  Using black ink stamp your Arianna blooms image onto the metal craft sheet and then emboss using black embossing powder and a heat tool. Die cut using the coordinating flower die. Create one large double bloom as well as one mid sized single bloom and two single small blooms.  Using the flower shaping tool, shape the flowers slightly. Glue centres into each of the flowers.  Adhere the largest bloom to the top corner, and the three smaller blooms in a cluster on the bottom corner near the globe.  Stamp several bunches of leaves from the Open Leaf cling stamp set onto household tin foil and once again emboss using the same technique as the flowers. Die cut using the coordinating leaf die...you will need to be very careful when removing the die cuts from the die as the tin foil will tear easily.  Add leaves around each of the flowers and once happy with the arrangement adhere to card.  Shape the leaves lightly using your finger.  Apply the two metal vintage styled flowers behind the petals of the top flower...one on top and one below as shown.  For the finishing touch take some thin black crafters wire and spiral it around a pencil, slide off and cut into desired lengths. Adhere to card around the large bloom.  You now have a wonderful card that has incorporated some unique metals as well as a little household kitchen flair!  Enjoy!
