I Think You're "Beary" Special...

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
Are you ready for another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday?
Have you been checking out all of the creative projects made with the Beary Fun Retreat Collection?
It really is the perfect cozy fall time collection, isn't it!

I have another share for you today featuring one of the lovable, fuzzy friends taking center stage!
Today's card is a quick and simple project and definitely something you could whip up if you were short on time but still needing and extra special card for a friend or loved one!

Here's a peek at today's creation...

As you can see, I've opted to make this card super dimensional!
I've die cut out the center portion of one of the premade card panels, have popped up the background portion of it using just regular pop dots, and have added the oval portion back over top using doubled up pop dots!  I've accented the background with several of the intricate die cuts from the Festive Holiday Die from the Festive Holly Collection.  I just thought these dies gave the piece such a nice country feel when paired with the sunflowers and the plaid background.

I've stamped, die cut and colored the bear eating his honey snack, as well as one of each of the standing sunflower images found in the Beary Fun Retreat Collection. I've accented his little outdoor scene with the grass and the mushrooms from the Wildwood Cottage Collection.

I've then gone ahead and shaped each of the embellishment pieces lightly with my flower shaping kit just so they have a little dimension to them as well.  The sunflowers have been adhered to the card with a dries clear glue, and the little bear has been added with double pop dots so he really stands off the card. The grass has also been adhered to the card with double pop dots and the dome of the large mushroom has a single pop dot under it while the bottom of the grassy portion of the mushrooms has just a small amount of dries clear glue.

Here's closer peek at the super dimension of the little scene I've created on the card...

Don't you just love that Glossy Accents on the honey in the honey pot...it just makes it look all sticky!  LOL

I hope you've enjoyed today's share!

It's Time for a Beary Fun Autumn Retreat...

Welcome!
How are all of you doing?
With all of the natural disasters happening in the world today, I hope that wherever you are reading this from you are safe and sound!

Here in Manitoba, Canada we are just heading into the fall season.
As I type this I am looking out my living room windows periodically and the leaves on the shelterbelt trees have all started turning to golds and rusts.
Very pretty...although I'm not sure that I am really ready to let go of summer.

That being said, autumn is my favorite season.
I love the crisp autumn air, the fact that I get to bundle up in warm sweaters, the crunching of the leaves when I'm out for a leisurely walk...and of course the colors!
I was super excited to see that Heartfelt Creations was coming out with a fun and cheery autumn release!
The Beary Fun Retreat stole my heart...it is just adorable!

Here's a little bit about it...

Long days filled with sunshine begin to fade and the crisp evening breezes begin to call for cozy wool knit sweaters as the fall season slowly ushers out the lazy days of summer! Along with the falling leaves and a last surge of floral blossoms, autumn brings with it a more relaxed and reflective way of life and a reminder that winter will soon be around the corner. Autumn also brings with it a fun that only autumn can bring…playing in crisp piles of fallen leaves, picnics with warm beverages, cozy evenings spent around the campfire and exploring fields filled with rows and rows of sunflowers bowing their heads giving way to the season! Even the animals of the forest recognize and celebrate the subtle arrival of autumn, spending their last few days before hibernation playing and making preparations for the arrival of the upcoming winter season. Come along with us and join in our fall festivities as we go on one final fun filled retreat with the Beary Fun Retreat Collection by Heartfelt Creations! Filled with delightful and captivating illustrations of adorable bears, this autumn themed collection is sure to appeal to all ages! Perfect for celebrating an array of occasions, this fun loving assembling of stamps, dies and decorative papers will bring a whimsical and lighthearted touch to all of your paper crafting creations. The dynamic paper collection boasts a color palette filled with beautiful tones of burnt oranges, rusty reds, midnight blues, along with leaf like greens and golden yellows all mixed with checkered plaids, decorative stripes and gorgeous imagery of blooming sunflowers and falling leaves. Three sets of detailed cling stamps with coordinating dies allow you to join in the fall themed fun of a charismatic bear family enjoying their last retreat before winter sets in. Whether sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows near an adorable treehouse, enjoying songs strummed out quietly on guitar, or filling up on delightful meals of honey, these cute images are ideal for embellishing all of your fall themed cards and scrapbook layouts! So throw on a cozy sweater, grab a cup of hot cocoa and join in the fun as we enjoy one last “beary” fun filled autumn retreat!

This weeks share with the new Beary Fun Retreat collection is something a little different for me.
I found a CAS card technique online that I'd wanted to try and thought that this collection would be perfect for creating a little clean and simple watercolor scene perfect for a masculine card.

Here's how the card came out...

I've masked off all edges on a piece of water color paper and have proceeded to stamp my image onto the water color paper using a grey VersaFine ink and the MISTI.  I've then cleaned the stamp and restamped over the image using the clear VersaMark ink pad.  I've quickly heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder and set to watercoloring.

Here's a peek at the card with a bit of a different angle...

I've used distress ink reinkers to do the watercoloring (I'll leave you the link below that I used to follow along with all of the different watercoloring/inking steps I watched to create this project.)
The give such beautiful, bold and rich colors when water coloring. After all of the water coloring was completed, I went in with an ink blending tool and added in some darker blue just around the edges of the tape for the sky to give it some clear definition, some darker green around the grassy portion and then a soft brown around all of the edges.  Then came the fun part!  I removed the masking tape from the water color panel and I have to say, for this being the first time I tried this technique I was very happy with how it turned out!

I then chose my sentiment and using the MISTI and a black ink I stamped it onto the colored image.
I trimmed a piece of decorative plaid card stock from the Beary Fun Retreat Paper Collection, inked all edges with a soft brown ink and then adhered it to my 5"x7" card base. I've used foam tape to pop up and adhere the colored panel to the card base.
And voila...it was complete!

I think I will spray this card with a sealer as I don't want anything to happen to the water coloring as I have used distress inks which will react should water land up coming into contact with them.
For the first time trying this version of a colored card, I was quite pleased with how it turned out!
I think this would make a great card for any male in your life!

I do hope you've enjoyed today's share!
I'd love to know if you've tried anything like this before!

Peace On Earth...

Hello and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
I'm so glad you've taken some time out of your busy schedule to visit with me here today!

I have another Christmas card creation to share with you!
I've done a mix of a few different collections on this one....and I didn't have a lot of spare time so this is one you can complete super quickly!

Let's take a peek at what I made to spark some creativity for you this week...

I chose to use one of the premade card panels from the Winter's Eve Collection.
I cut two intricate decorative die cuts from the Festive Holly Collection and adhered them to the card front opposite of one another.
I love the lacy look that they have...and I think make such beautiful embellishments that lend a touch of an old fashioned feel to your holiday projects!

I've then stamped, colored and die cut some Sparkling Poinsettias, as well as some of the holly and berry clusters from the Festive Holly Collection.  After everything was shaped, I started playing around with the floral cluster. I thought they were so pretty there surrounding the bottom of the Christmas tree. I knew that I really wanted this holiday card to sparkle and shine...so I've used lots of glitter on the poinsettias as well as on the images on the preprinted card panel.

Here's a closer peek at all the sparkle on the poinsettias...

As I mentioned earlier on, this card didn't take me too much time and would be easy to replicate in a pinch.  You'll find all of the instructions below following the conclusion of this blog post!

I do hope you've been inspired here today!
