Petunia Birthday...

It's another Wednesday!
Welcome!  I'm so glad you're here!

I have something a little different for you today...different than my usual Heartfelt Creations style...but hey, sometimes we just have to create something a little different to continue to get those creative juices to flow!

Are you ready for a peek?

I decided to go with a more simple card this week.  I used a smooshing technique (if you're unfamiliar you can find many YouTube videos on the technique) to apply color to the card front.  I've also added a few ink drops, some white embossing enamel and some silver sequins and ribbon.  I actually had a lot of fun with this technique and was happy with how this card turned out...lots of color and interest...and yet not too time consuming at all.  It's easy to fall into the trap of using the same design, same style when you use the same manufacturer's products over a long period of time.  I wanted to prove to myself and to you that it does work to think outside of the box when using Heartfelt Creations stamps.  I hope you've enjoyed today's project and I hope you've been inspired to try something from your usual style as well.  Sometimes our tries turn out into fails...but we've learned so much along the way!

Be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to check out the other beautiful projects the rest of the design team have created for your viewing pleasure and inspiration!

Until next time...

God is Faithful...

Hello!
Happy Sunday!

Today begins a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenges that will run for the next few weeks!
For this challenge we are asking for projects featuring relationships...friendships, weddings, or anniversaries with the inspiration coming from the book of Hosea and the concept of steadfast love.
God is faithful even when we aren't...isn't that so amazing!  He continues to love us even though we reject Him daily or don't take time to prioritize our relationship with Him.  He extends us grace...so different than the world we live in.  How do we tend to react when friendships disappoint us, when people constantly let us down...
In these times, God has given us a beautiful example to follow.  God is always waiting for us, pursuing us to draw closer to Him and does not hold a grudge.  His love is steadfast and something we can count on in a world that often leaves us out in the cold.
I wish I could say that this is an area I have conquered in my life.  Too many times I am not gracious to those I have felt wronged by...too many times I beat myself up for not spending as much time in the Word and working on my relationship with God as I should be and this leads me become filled with guilt.  In the devotional Jeanne wrote this week for the blog (you can read it here), she points out that we are to pattern our lives after the teachings and example of our Saviour and we need to extend the same faithfulness that God shows us to those around us.  Not easily done without the help of our Lord.

Now, would you like to see the friendship card I created for this biweekly challenge?
I did something a little different than my usual style...

Let's take a look..

I used the smooshing technique to create the coloring on the background for the card.  If you're unfamiliar with the technique, there are many many YouTube videos for you to check out if you just type in "smooshing technique".  I've also used a water brush to flick a few droplets onto the background as well.  The floral image has been stamped onto water color paper using a permanent black ink.  This is an image from the Classic Petunia Collection by Heartfelt Creations.  I've stamped and paper pieced the gorgeous lady illustration created by Unity Stamps and paired it with a birthday sentiment...after all, we all love celebrating our friends!

I hope you've found yourself encouraged and inspired here today!
I also hope you take time to join us in our latest challenge!

Until next time...

This card has been submitted to the following challenges...

There is Beauty in my Soul Today...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening to you!
Welcome!
I'm so glad you're here!

I have a garden themed card to share with you today featuring the pretty Classic Petunia Collection by Heartfelt Creations!

Let's start right off with my creation and I'll give you some details about it along the way...

As we speak, I have been busily cleaning out my flower beds and getting ready for the arrival of my hummers.  Today's chores will include cleaning the feeders and making sure they are ready for the homemade sugar solution I prepare for them.  I always look forward to this time of year and get super excited when they arrive.

When I spotted the background card panel with the watering can, chair and florals I thought about my little perennial bed where I make a rest stop for my hummers and orioles and it reminded me of how I sit on my front deck waiting to hear those first buzzes and flitters of those tiny little jewels.  The sentiment on the top of the panel was perfect as well, as watching these beautiful birds in nature has a way of reminding your soul of the beauty in the world and to look for it daily!  I decided to create the card with the layering of another premade card panel from within the paper collection and to dig out my hummingbird stamps from the Botanic Orchid Collection
I opted to use the largest of the hummers in the collection and to just snip off the orchids and have the bird appear to be sitting among the petunias.  The Stack and Store daubers made quick and easy coloring for that pretty little hummingbird!

...here's a closer look at the hummer and the petite petunias...

A touch of glitter and a few sequins and the project was complete!
I do hope you've found some inspiration here today as you've spent time with me!
I also hope that you've been reminded to take time to fill your soul with beauty...in the fast pace of life we seem to have to aim for this as we tend to let things rush by us and not see the tiny miracles and beauty that surround us.

Now, have you stopped by the Heartfelt Creations blog already?  If not, be sure to find some time to head on over there to check out the amazing projects the design team have created for you!
You may just find yourself super inspired and heading over to the nearest greenhouse to pick up a flat of live petunias to enjoy while you wait for  your order for the Classic Petunia Collection from the Heartfelt Creations online store to arrive!  LOL

Until next time...

Lullabies and Tiny Feet...

Happy Sunday!
I hope you are keeping well!
Today starts another new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenges!

Jeanne has a wonderful devotional up on the Mustard Seed Faith Challenge blog and she got me thinking about the book of Psalms in a way that I had never thought about them before...she mentions that her pastor likened them to lullabies that moms sing to their little ones!  How comforting...lullabies from our Lord!  Just as she mentions going to read the Psalms in times of trouble, times of needing comfort or times of great joy...I find that I do the same.  The Psalms always seem to have a peaceful and comforting feeling despite what you are going through in life.  I've just given you a glimpse into her devotional, so be sure to take some time to read it over on the challenge blog.

This brings us to the theme of the challenges for the next two weeks...we want to see your baby/lullaby themed creations!

For this project I decided to go with a vintage style!
Here's a peek...

This card was super fast and easy to create!
Some pretty decorative paper, washi tape, adorable ephemera and two tiny buttons are the entire list for this project!

I loved the little sentiment ephemera piece on this card!
It got me thinking that as a Christian mom, that's always the desire for me for my children...that they never forget the way home...they never forget their relationship with God and remember that their home is not really in this world.  Where their tiny feet may travel....what adventures does their Heavenly Father have in store for them...mission work, to be parents with children of their own...only time will tell and the best we can do as parents is to pray for them.

I do hope you've enjoyed my share today.  I also hope that you've been inspired to play along with us at Mustard Seed Faith Challenges...even if you're not needing a baby card at the moment, it's fantastic to have a few on hand!  I also hope you've been encouraged to look at the Psalms in a way that you never have before...as soothing songs to comfort us, to bring peace to us and to calm us just as a mothers lullaby does for her child.

Until next time...

I've created a number in the past, and today I've toyed with yet another!
I mean come on...what could be better than a petunia filled teapot?

Allow me to share with you...

Mother's Day is this Sunday, and for those who have not yet started on their creations for mom I thought perhaps this would be a cute idea!

The petunias are so pretty and this is a wonderful flower to shape!

Here's a closer look at the flowers...

The tea pot box card template comes from the Silhouette Design store and has been cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I thought it was just too cute to pass up doing something with and the petunias seemed perfect for this time of year as we are heading into greenhouses that are filled with rows and rows of them in any color imaginable!
A quick touch of glitter and a banner sentiment and the project was complete!

I hope you've enjoyed my share here today!  If you give this a try yourself I'd love to see your project!  Also, be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to check out the amazing creations the rest of the design team have come up with for your inspiration!

Choose designer paper from within the Classic Petunia Paper Collection that you wish to use for your teapot.  Cut teapot box file using Silhouette Cameo.  Ink all edges using a pink color ink and assemble box card.   Cut two small strips of card stock to create two sections within the box to adhere your flowers to and then adhere them to box center.  Stamp the large petunia cling stamp set twice onto white card stock using black ink.  Stamp two inkings of the small petunia cling stamp set onto white card stock using black ink.  Stamp one image of the large petunia bouquet from the classic petunia bouquet cling stamp set onto white card stock using black ink.  Color petunia bouquet image and adhere to the inside back panel of the teapot.  Color and shape petunia flowers and leaves as per video above.  Adhere shaped flowers to box card as shown.  (You will need to adhere some flowers to small strips of card stock to gain height, and then adhere the card stock strip to the box card middle rather than trying to adhere the flower to the horizontal center strips).  Cut sentiment strip from paper collection, shape gently and adhere to box card as shown.  Using a dries clear glue, glitter flower tips with Crystal Clear powder.

Sending Some Tropcial Love Your Way...

Hi and Welcome!
I have a special card to share with you today....it's a multi fold card and has been created with one of the Fold Out Card bases by Heartfelt Creations!
Since this is our last week showcasing the Tropical Paradise Collection, I opted to pair it up with the Monkeying Around and Under the Sea Collections as well!
This card is almost like a tropical "stay-cay"!  LOL
You'll see what I mean in just a minute!

As you can see the front of the card starts with the ocean part of our tropical "stay-cay".  I've used the Under the Sea Collection to cover the first two panels of the card.  I've added a coordinating die cut to the card that mimicks the waves of the ocean.

Here's a closer peek...

Then we move into the jungle...hmmm...what could we possibly find there?
Perhaps some tropical birds who love to hang out near the water?

The coordinating fold out card dies, decorative dies and decorative paper make creating a card like this so fast and easy!
I've used the die that matches the curve in the card to cut the curve into my paper...and I've used a leafy decorative die to accent this panel as we're moving away from the water and onto the island!

What other wildlife could we possibly encounter as we make our way onto land?

A relaxin' monkey announcing it's your special day!  LOL
And of course we're needing to add in some tropical flowers!
I've used the Hibiscus flower from the Under the Sea Collection as well as the Plumeria flower from the Tropical Paradise Collection to bring a touch of the islands to this creation!

Here's a closer look...

I've used the Papericious Frosting Powder created by our very own Rajni Chawla here on the hibiscus petals!  The plumeria flowers have just had regular glitter applied to their flower tips.

As we continue our tropical paradise island tour...we come across another relaxin' monkey!
This panel I've left open should you want to stamp a sentiment or add a handwritten note!

You won't be able to see it as the sun once again disappeared from sight when it came time to take the photos, but each of these panels has been subtly glittered on the printed images.
It just gives the card a little extra elegant touch!

Lastly, we're to the back panel of the card where we discover some more birds of paradise and some beautiful florals.

I hope you've enjoyed our little tropical excursion!
These fold out cards are so much fun to make (a little hard to photograph LOL!) and will pack such a wow factor for the lucky recipients!

Be sure to head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see what the other designers have come up with for your weekly inspiration!

Until next time...
