Sending Some Tropcial Love Your Way...

Hi and Welcome!
I have a special card to share with you today....it's a multi fold card and has been created with one of the Fold Out Card bases by Heartfelt Creations!
Since this is our last week showcasing the Tropical Paradise Collection, I opted to pair it up with the Monkeying Around and Under the Sea Collections as well!
This card is almost like a tropical "stay-cay"!  LOL
You'll see what I mean in just a minute!

As you can see the front of the card starts with the ocean part of our tropical "stay-cay".  I've used the Under the Sea Collection to cover the first two panels of the card.  I've added a coordinating die cut to the card that mimicks the waves of the ocean.

Here's a closer peek...

Then we move into the jungle...hmmm...what could we possibly find there?
Perhaps some tropical birds who love to hang out near the water?

The coordinating fold out card dies, decorative dies and decorative paper make creating a card like this so fast and easy!
I've used the die that matches the curve in the card to cut the curve into my paper...and I've used a leafy decorative die to accent this panel as we're moving away from the water and onto the island!

What other wildlife could we possibly encounter as we make our way onto land?

A relaxin' monkey announcing it's your special day!  LOL
And of course we're needing to add in some tropical flowers!
I've used the Hibiscus flower from the Under the Sea Collection as well as the Plumeria flower from the Tropical Paradise Collection to bring a touch of the islands to this creation!

Here's a closer look...

I've used the Papericious Frosting Powder created by our very own Rajni Chawla here on the hibiscus petals!  The plumeria flowers have just had regular glitter applied to their flower tips.

As we continue our tropical paradise island tour...we come across another relaxin' monkey!
This panel I've left open should you want to stamp a sentiment or add a handwritten note!

You won't be able to see it as the sun once again disappeared from sight when it came time to take the photos, but each of these panels has been subtly glittered on the printed images.
It just gives the card a little extra elegant touch!

Lastly, we're to the back panel of the card where we discover some more birds of paradise and some beautiful florals.

I hope you've enjoyed our little tropical excursion!
These fold out cards are so much fun to make (a little hard to photograph LOL!) and will pack such a wow factor for the lucky recipients!

Be sure to head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see what the other designers have come up with for your weekly inspiration!

Until next time...

Monkeying Around Shaker Card...

Happy Wednesday!
Are you ready for a fun, monkey themed creation today?
This is the final day to be showcasing the Monkeying Around Collection by Heartfelt Creations before we move on to another new release next week!
Have you seen the sneak peeks of the upcoming Tropical Paradise Collection?  The tropical theme will fit in perfectly with the Monkeying Around Collection if you've already purchased it!  It's so great to be able to combine collections!

For this weeks project I decided to create a shaker card!  I had visions of crazed monkeys jumping around in the shaker trying to catch the banana!  LOL  Perhaps I need some sleep!
Anyway, this is what started off the crazy creation...and let me tell you, hours later it morphed into a totally different design than what I'd had in my head!  LOL

Enough chit chat...here's how the card came together...

...how about a close look at the elements I've put in the shaker...

Now I will admit that I had a terrible time trying to get this shaker to come together.  The dries clear glue would not work on the foam I had...so I used Glossy Accents.  Well we all know that Glossy Accents takes forever to dry...and part of the foam just kept wanting to flip up so I literally had to create a seal around the outer edges of the foam.  As you can see, some of the microbeads have found themselves stuck to the Glossy Accents as it squished ever so slightly into the inside of the shaker.
I was tempted to give up...but you know when you've come so far into a project you just try to find solutions to make things work.

...here's a closer look at the corner cluster I've created with the palm fronds and the playful monkeys...

As much frustration as they card caused me, I do think that it turned out kinda cute!

I do hope you take time to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog today...there's such a great assortment of projects there featuring so many different collections this week!

Until next time...

Other Products Used:  Grand Calibur Die Cutting Machine, white card stock, Stickles - Tickled Pink, clear card stock, Glossy Accents, microbeads, sequins, foam sheet, sponge daubers, Spectrum Noir Gamasol Solution, blending stumps, Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils, Spellbinders Circles (Lg) Dies, VersaColor Pine Cone Ink, VersaFine Black Ink, scissors, paper trimmer, pencil

Create a 6" x 6" card base using white card stock.  Locate card panel with circular center and coconut image.  Die cut circular coconut image using Spellbinders die.  Next die cut a circular piece from foam (I've cut two and adhered them together as my foam was quite thin), as well as a piece of clear cardstock using the largest and next size down in the Spellbinders die collection.  Locate the polka dotted paper and die cut a coordinating circular front for the shaker portion you've just die cut.  Cut the pre made card panels pictured for the front of the card as shown, with monkey card panel being cut smaller to mat onto polka dot background.  Ink all edges using a light brown ink. Die cut the edge of the smaller mat using the leaf border from the Delicate Border Basics Die.  Adhere to background mat, and then adhere to card base.  Die cut opening side of card base using Classic Border Basics Die and die cut center of card front as shown to reveal shaker portion. Leaving circle die in place, trace around outer edge.  Remove die and then carefully trim to enlarge circle cut to give shaker more room.   Choose 6" x 6" card panel to adhere to inside.  Ink with a light brown colored ink and apply to inside of card.  Using black ink and white card stock, stamp an assortment of palm fronds, the corner monkey image, the monkeys swinging on vines, one banana, one coconut and several inkings of plumeria flowers.  Die cut with coordinating dies and color using inks and sponge daubers.  Shape all elements using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  Create a palm frond cluster on upper corner of card and then adhere corner monkey embellishment as shown.  Create coconut and palm frond cluster on opposite corner on bottom of card as shown.  Trim out sentiment from paper collection, ink all edges with a brown colored ink, shape slightly and adhere to card as shown.  Trim apart monkeys playing on vines and flowers.  Adhere one monkey to sentiment cluster as shown along with one shaped flower.  Adhere remaining shaped flowers to card front as shown.  Build shaker portion of card starting with preprinted coconut image, adding foam cut out on top using Glossy Accents.  Add banana, two flowers, two monkeys, microbeads and sequins and adhere clear card stock over top using Glossy Accents.  Adhere polka dotted designer paper circular die cut to top of clear card stock using Glossy Accents.  Allow to fully dry, and then add to card base as shown.  Add glitter to all palm fronds.  Apply Stickles to flowers using fingertip and then apply a sparkly flower center.

I'll be quite honest...I had no idea what kind of project I was going to make with this collection...until I spotted something I could alter while on a crafty shopping trip with Liz to Hobby Lobby while we were on our little CHA adventure in Phoenix!  I saw a tropical tiki style hut windchime set that I thought had some potential for being inhabited by monkeys!

Want to see how it turned out?

I will admit that trying to photograph these windchimes was a tad difficult, so I apologize for the poor photography!  It was hard to prop them up, I had no nice place to hang them and the sun refused to cooperate by coming out so the picture would be well lit!  LOL

As you can see I've covered the roof with palm frond die cuts from the collection.  I stamped the images in various shades of greens and then used different combinations of green inks to color them to try to give them each a bit of a different coloring.  (Doesn't show up very well in the photo!)  I've used palm trees for the top of the chimes and the adorable relaxin' monkey for the main focal point at the door.  I've added a floral touch to the project using the pretty floral border stamp also found within the collection.

Here's a close up of this fun loving relaxin' monkey...

I've colored the image using a Dove Blender Pen and ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks (you can find all the color details in the instructions following this blog post.)  I've used different shades of browns to color the monkey image to try and give him the look of being hairy!  LOL  I've popped him up off the base of the windchime using 3D pop dots and kind of curved him around the hut!  I think he looks pretty awesome sitting out on his front porch enjoying a cold drink!

...and of course there are always some shenanigans when monkeys are involved, so I decided to have some playful primates added to to the top of the project swinging from palm tree to palm tree using vines...

Again, I apologize for the poor photography...the colors look so much nicer on the real project!
For the finishing touch, I've added Stickle centers to all of the flowers, and daubed some stickles onto each of the palm fronds to give the project some sparkle and shine.

I do hope you've stopped by the Heartfelt Creations blog to check out the fun and creative projects the rest of the team has created for your viewing pleasure and inspiration with this fun collection!
I'm sure there are a project or two you'll go "bananas" over and want to try yourself!
As for me, that's all for today!
I do hope you come for a visit again soon!

Until next time...
