On Your Special Day....

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!
It's another Heartfelt Creations inspirational post today!
I'm going back in time with the Sweet Peony Collection!

The peony is among one of my favorite flowers, and this collection is just perfect for all occasions!
Since wedding season is coming up, I thought it might be fun to design something that could be used for such an occasion! Of course, with the fabulous sentiment I've used on today's project, you could also make this a birthday card!

...here's how the project came together...

The beautiful Regal Frame is the perfect addition to add a touch of elegance to all of your handmade greeting cards. To add a bit more sophistication and elegance, I've also added the eyelet border from the Sweetheart Borders Die.

...and the peonies...
I just love making the peony flower!
You can assemble it in so many different ways to get so many different looks!
For this project, I decided to just go with the traditional peony look!
I added some of the Leafy Accents into the floral cluster. They give
any floral cluster such a realistic appearance!

The finishing touch was the Baby's Breath Ultrafine Transparent Glitter.
It has just a hint of pink shimmer and is the perfect way to add a glistening shine to the project!

I do hope you've enjoyed today's share!
Be sure to pop on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the rest of the wonderful projects the design team have created for your inspiration!

Until next time...
Project Supplies & Instructions

Other Products: white card stock, paper trimmer, scissors, MISTI, mist bottle, water, BigShot die cutting machine, foam tape, hot glue gun

Create a 6 x 6 card base from white card stock. Trim out background card panel from Sweet Peony Paper Collection slightly smaller than card base. Trim out small premade card panel with floral filled oval center. Ink edges using Stack and Store Dauber and Ranger Archival Ink – Coffee. Adhere large square background panel to card base.

Die cut long eyelet lace like die cut from the Sweetheart Borders Die from white card stock. Using scissors, trim down to fit onto background panel. Once again using white card stock, trim one frame die cut from Regal Frame and Accents Die. Adhere frame die cut over oval center on small premade card panel.

Apply dimensional foam tape to small premade card panel. Position lace like die cut near the left side of where the smaller card panel will attach to card base. Once happy with placement, adhere lace like die cut to card base using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive. Then adhere small premade card panel over background panel on card base as shown. Stamp sentiment onto card base using Ranger Archival Ink – Coffee.

Using Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper, stamp four inkings of each of the peony petals from the Large and Small Peony Cling Stamp Sets using Ranger Archival Ink – Plum. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color all petal pieces using a mix of Ranger Archival Ink – Rose Madder and Tea Rose. Die cut using coordinating dies. Ink all petal tips and backside of petals using Ranger Archival Ink – Plum. Follow this video for instructions on how to shape the peony flowers using 3D Basics Flower Shaping Mold. Shape one large flower, one mid sized peony, and one flower bud.

Stamp each of the larger, and smaller size foliage in both Large and Small Sweet Peony Cling Stamp Set onto flower shaping paper using Ranger Archival Ink – Olive. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color using Ranger Archival Ink – Leaf Green. Die cut using coordinating dies and shape by hand using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

Stamp one inking of each of the foliage pieces from the Leafy Accents Cling Stamp Set onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper using Ranger Archival Ink – Olive. Using Stack and Store Daubers, add a combination of Ranger Archival Inks – Leaf Green and Plum. Die cut using coordinating dies. Again using a Stack and Store Dauber, ink edges lightly with Ranger Archival Ink – Coffee. Place in Leafy Accents shaping mold, spritz lightly with water and send through die cutting machine.

Adhere larger Leafy Accents foliage piece in center of card where floral cluster will be placed. Place peony flowers onto foliage as shown, but do not adhere yet. Snip Leafy Accent that has the vining tendrils in half. Determine where you want each half to appear in floral cluster – one on top of cluster, and one at bottom. Adhere flowers to cluster, then add in peony leaves into cluster as shown.

Using a fine metal tip and Designer Dries Clear Adhesive, apply Baby’s Breath Ultrafine Transparent Glitter onto flower petals, leaves, and preprinted images on all decorative paper.

Announcing the new Frame a Card Dies from Heartfelt Creations...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening!
It's been awhile since we've spent some time together!
I'm so glad you're here!

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and today we're debuting the new Frame a Card Dies!
I promise you're going to fall in love with these!

The collection of Frame a Card Dies includes four wonderful and elegant options for cutting your card bases or adding a touch of elegance to card fronts, no matter how ornate or more simple your card design may be!

To learn more about each of these Frame a Card dies, watch this YouTube Video and sit back and relax as Emma Lou takes you through what you can do with each of the designs!

As for me, I thought I'd create a little project to share with you featuring the Eyelet Rectangle & Basics Die, along with the Intricate Swirl Frames Die. Since wedding season is quickly approaching, I thought these dies would be perfect for creating a bridal shower/wedding card.

...here's how the project turned out...

I've die cut the card base using the largest rectangle die to create a 5" x7" card base. You can find full instructions on how to cut a card base using the die in the video listed above!

Then I've moved on to creating a beautiful background with the Intricate Swirl Frames Die!
Don't you just love the detailing in the Swirl Frame die? The gorgeous edging, and the perfect stitching...and of course the inlay is divine...I've added it into the center, flat onto the image and have popped up the frame itself with foam tape to give it all some beautiful dimension. I thought the heart die cut from the Heartfelt Love Collection would blend into the intricacy of the gorgeous frame and I do love how it turned out! It too has been popped up off of the card base using pop dots, and I have accented it with a Nuvo Glitter Brush to give it a subtle, but elegant shimmer.

...here's a closer peek at that heart accent - if you look really close you can see that there is a slight shimmer on it...

As you can see, I've also added glitter to the preprinted image of the wedding bells, as well as all of the flowers!

Of course we need to have a gorgeous floral arrangement to go with the beauty of the Frame Die, so I've created a floral cluster using a large Sweet Peony, a Hydrangea created from the Lush Lilac, and of course some small roses, buds and accent flowers perfect for the wedding season!

...here's a closer look at the flowers...

I've added prills for the center of the peony, I've glittered the rose with a Crystal Clear Ultrafine Transparent Glitter, and the lilac blossoms for the hydrangea have all been heat embossed with white embossing power and have then had a hint of New Sprout Memento Ink brushed over part of their petals slightly so that there is a touch of color to draw the eye to the cluster. Each of the lilac blossoms have had a wired stamen put through the center to give them some added extra sparkle. I've used a few of the smaller rose flowers to create single accent flowers and have wired them so they will stand up off the card. They too have white wired stamen centers to give them a touch of shine.

For the greenery, I've used several stamped images from the Classic Rose Collection and have also added a few of the peony foliage pieces as well. They have been colored using two green inks and have been blended together with the Stack and Store Daubers.

All in all, I am quite happy how this creation came together, and I think it would be a lovely wedding presentation card!

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared with you here today!

Sweet Peony Card Classes...

Welcome!
I have something exciting to share with you today!
It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday...and while I didn't have time to create a project this week, I'd love to share with you the cards that I have designed for my upcoming Sweet Peony card classes at the Scrapbook Cottage locations - both in Winnipeg and Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada!

In each of these classes we will be completing all three card designs shown here on the blog today!
We will be learning how to create these beautiful peonies using the 3D Flower Basics Shaping Mold from Heartfelt Creations. They make flower shaping super quick and easy on the hands!
We'll also explore the art of adding beautiful flower stamen centers to your flowers which gives them a super realistic look!

Seating is limited and spots fill very quickly, so I encourage you to give Kathy a call at the Winnipeg Store, or Sharon a call at the Steinbach store to register today!
I'll post all of the class info below as well as the store numbers for easy access.

Lastly, here's the dates and info for the Sweet Peony Card Classes!

Thinking of You Today...

Welcome!
How are you doing today?
Here in Manitoba, Canada we're getting ready for spring!
I can't wait for the birds to return, to hear their sweet songs of spring and to get puttering in my flower bed!
I suppose it's these feelings that led me to create a springtime scene with the beautiful Sweet Peony Collection!

Here's a peek at my creation for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday...

I just love the springtime vibes this card gives off!
Those beautiful birdies nesting in their home, the pretty white picket fence!
I couldn't resist adding the bird on the branch from the Singing in the Rain Collection to the top upper corner of the creation!

I wanted to give the card a feminine feeling so I opted to use two of the Delicate Border Basics dies...I nested them together to create two single embellishments and then trimmed them to fit the frame I created using the Cut Mat Create dies.

I chose to make a large peony flower, and I've placed the dimensional blossom on the larger peony flower die cut from the Peony Bud and Blossom Cling Stamp Set. I love the way it makes the flower look even larger and love how those background petals give a nice spread to the blossom!

Here's a closer peek at the peony flower...

I've added some dew drops to give the peony a fresh spring look, and all of the small white accent flowers have been created using the smaller peony petal pieces. They've been heat embossed with white embossing powder, and I've then heat embossed some embossing enamel onto them for some character! I've added white prills to their centers to finish them off.
A sprinkling of glitter to the peony petal tips and the preprinted image on the main focal point image, along with a few Nuvo drops around the sentiment and this card was complete!

I do hope you've been inspired and have enjoyed what you've seen here today!
Be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to take in the other beautiful projects the rest of the design team have created for your viewing pleasure!

Project Instructions and Supplies

Other Products: white card stock, VersaFine Black Ink, paper trimmer, scissors, Gemini Die Cutting Machine, BigShot Die Cutting Machine, Ranger Distress Ink Foam and Handle, pop dots, adhesive runner, water, mist bottle, MISTI stamp tool, ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink – Dahlia, Zing white embossing powder, heat tool, painters tape, hot glue gun, glue sticks, VersaMark Ink

To see how to shape the peony, watch the video at https://youtu.be/L9_MLkvpGPQ.

Create a 6” x 6” card base from white card stock. Locate decorative 6” x 6” card panel for background as shown. Trim down slightly smaller than card base, ink all edges using ColorBox Dahlia Ink, and adhere to card base.

Locate and cut out small premade card base with bird house and birds as shown. Using the coordinating die in the Cut Mat Create 1A collection, die cut center image. Ink all edges of the frame and die cut image using ColorBox Dahlia Ink. Using MISTI tool, stamp sentiment from Raindrop Sentiments Cling Stamp Set onto image panel. Adhere image panel to card base using adhesive.

Locate the two matching decorative die cuts in the Delicate Border Basics Dies. Position the two dies back to back onto white card stock so that they will cut together to create one embellishment. To do this easily, position them together and use painters tape to secure them to the card stock. Trim and add to frame from which you cut out the bird image. Adhere frame to card base over top bird image using pop dots.

Stamp the bird on branch image from the Songs of Spring Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using VersaFine Black In. Die cut using the coordinating die. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color the image using ColorBox Creamy Brown ink for branch, Ranger Archival Inks – Leaf Green and Olive for leaves and Memento Inks – Danube Blue and Potter’s Clay for bird. Shape slightly using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and adhere to card front as shown.

Stamp two inkings of the petals from the Large Sweet Peony Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using ColorBox Dahlia Ink. Stamp one inking of the largest flower base from the Peony Bud and Blossom Cling Stamp Set. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color all pieces using ColorBox Berrylicious and Memento Peanut Brittle inks. Die cut using coordinating dies. Repeat coloring process on back of die cut images. Ink all petal tips with ColorBox Dahlia ink. Shape peony petals using 3D Floral Basics Shaping Mold. For full instructions on how to shape the peony flower using mold, please see video listed in link above. Finish shaping process using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Layer two largest petal pieces together and then the smaller petal pieces in the center to form bud using hot glue gun to ensure a quick bond. Adhere peony flower to card as shown.

Stamp one inking of all leaves from Large and Small Peony Cling Stamp Sets onto white card stock using Ranger Archival Olive Ink. Using Stack and Store Daubers, color leaves with Ranger Archival Leaf Green ink and then die cut using coordinating dies. Ink all edges of all leaves using Ranger Archival Olive Ink. Adhere leaves around peony blossom on card front as shown.

Stamp one inking of each of the smallest petal pieces from the Small Sweet Peony Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set using heat tool.  With fingers, sprinkle Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel onto petal pieces and heat set from the underside of the card stock until embossing enamel has melted. Die cut using coordinating dies. Send petal pieces through flower shaping mold. Finish shaping using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Create two double blossoms by nesting one smaller peony petal piece into larger peony petal piece. Adhere around large peony as shown. Adhere small single peony flowers to create cluster as shown.

For finishing touches add white Minnie Pearls Prills to white flower centers, and Heart of Gold Prills to large Peony Center. Apply Baby’s Breath Glitter to large peony petals as well as preprinted focal image using a dries clear glue and metal tip for adhesive bottles. Apply Ivory Seashell Nuvo Drops to card base as shown.
