Wishing You a Blessed Christmas...

Hello and Welcome Back!

It's new release day with Heartfelt Creations and I'm sure you've guessed by the title of my blog post that we're debuting the Christmas Collection today!
The new release is entitled "Sparkling Poinsettias"...and here's a little about it...

Rediscover the majesty, serenity and pageantry of Christmas with Heartfelt Creations' Sparkling Poinsettia Collection.  This glorious ensemble of stamps, dies and papers captures the stately splendor of Christmas with a regal color palette of burgundy, evergreen, taupe and cream.  Radiant poinsettias take center stage amidst a host of traditional Nativity scenes, twinkling candles, drifting snowflakes, lacy flourishes, exuberant banners and Heartfelt  greetings that are worthy of the King of Kings.  Six detailed stamp sets echo the glorious images found in the paper collection and two coordinating die sets can be used to create sparkling poinsettias that will never wilt or fade.  Chronicle sweet memories of the season, share holiday joy with family and friends, hail the holy babe born in the manger and deck the halls with Sparkling Poinsettia!

This collection is simply stunning...as always!  LOL

I love love love poinsettias...I think I own more poinsettia dies than any other flower dies in my ever growing collection!

The card I created for today is rather simple...
I've used one of the pre printed card panels which makes creating super quick!
Add a beautiful frame die cut to the card front using 3D pop up dots and you're almost there!

Let's take a look...

...and how about a close up of those "Sparkling Poinsettias"...

I've used both of the poinsettia stamp sets and dies included in the collection to create the 3D flowers.  As you can see I've used a snow texture paste on them...Aleene's Glitter Snow to be exact.  I had not worked with this product much before and I was slightly disappointed.  The red color under the snow did start to weep through so I had to use quite a lot of the snow....allowing it to dry in between building up the layers.  (If you have used a better product than this to achieve your snow covered look, I'd love to hear about it in the comments below!)  Before the last layer of snow dried, I sprinkled some Glitter Ritz onto it to give those poinsettias a real sparkle.  I've used Gold Stickles to create the sparkle in the centres of the flowers.

The top poinsettia has been stamped, colored with distress markers, fussy cut and then had a dimensional flower added over top.  The other two blossoms have been created just using the stamp and die combination.  A few white pearls complete the look...and voila...you have a Christmas card ready to add to your ready made stash...and it's only July!  Woohoo!
I've always found that the key to making a fantastic Christmas card is to make it early!  LOL
The holiday season has so much going on, and it's such a relief if you have all of your card creating finished!  Heartfelt Creations Online Store can help you with that...but don't delay as I know that the "I Want it All" set will most likely sell out rather quickly!

Well, that's all for me today!
Do stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog as there are the most amazing creations there again this week!
The team just never runs out of fresh and inspiring designs!

Until next time...

Begin with a 5"x7" premade card base.  Locate the 5"x7" pre printed background panel as shown.  Die cut the centre oval out of the background panel using the correct size Spellbinders oval die.  Locate the small sentiment pre printed card panel as shown.  Once again using an oval die and your manual die cutting machine, cut the sentiment to the correct size to be placed in the oval die cut area in the background panel. Using a brown colored ink, ink all edges on the background panel as well as the die cut oval sentiment.  Adhere background panel to card base.  Using white card stock and the Spellbinders Heirloom Legacy die, create the frame for the card front.  Using 3D pop dots, adhere frame to the pre printed background.  Using the 3D pop dots once again, adhere the oval sentiment to the centre of the card base.  Using black ink and  white card stock, stamp the two buildable poinsettia floral stamp images,  as well as the poinsettia swirl image.  Color using distress markers.  Fussy cut the poinsettia swirl image using sharp scissors.  Cut the flower images using the coordinating dies and your manual die cutting machine.  Using a mist of water and deluxe flower shaping tools, shape flowers and leaves and assemble.  Adhere flowers and  leaves to card. Apply several layers of snow medium to each flower, allowing drying time between each layer.  After applying the last layer, sprinkle with Glitter Ritz before the texture medium dries to create a gorgeous shimmer.  Add gold Stickles to the centres of each flower.  For the finishing touch, add two groupings of pearls as shown.  You are now one card closer to completing your Christmas greetings for those special people in your world!

Well Tracey, you've gone and done it again. This is FANTASTIC! I too have this same glitter snow & as much as I have used it in the past, I never thought to use it on printed color paper. You've hit on something spectacular! When I look at your Poinsettias they seem to be made of marzipan! You win the golden ticket on this one my dear! Hugs
