You're the Best...

I'm back today with my last post featuring the Sunrise Lily collection by Heartfelt Creations...at least for now!  I have to say that I have enjoyed this collection immensely!
If you're new to flower shaping, this is a flower that comes together beautifully, and is a great place to start gaining confidence with your flower shaping!  Definitely a flower and collection I will go back to often!

This week I decided to feature the gorgeous bouquet and vase set in the collection.  I opted not to put any flowers onto this version as I wanted the beauty of the stand alone vase to be showcased. (I'll place another photo of another version I created based around the same design at the bottom of the post that I will be offering in upcoming card classes which has the shaped flowers incorporated.)

Here's how the creation turned out...

I've colored the vase and bouquet using Ranger Distress markers and then shaped them using the Deluxe flower shaping kit. I've also used one of the decorative dies by Heartfelt Creations to create a fancy border on the opening of the card.

Here's a closer look...

...I've also popped the vase arrangement off the card front to give it some dimension
and added some sparkle with Crystal Stickles (the pic doesn't show them very well)...

...lastly, I've used a matching card panel to that of the front featuring the oval I trimmed...

The card panels in the paper collection make for such quick and beautiful coordinating projects!

And as promised...here is the picture of the card class that I will be holding shortly and you will see a version of this design, as well as last weeks creation included...

I do hope you'll pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to check out the other amazing creations the rest of the design team have come up with!  The voting for semi finalists is also taking place at this time...be sure to visit these talented creators and leave them some blog love...then head over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and vote for your 5 favorite!  It's going to be a difficult choice for sure!

Until next time...

For tips and tricks when die cutting using detailed dies on a card base, please see video here.

Begin with a white 5"x7" card base.  Die cut decorative edge onto front of card. Locate a light pink patterned paper from within the Sunrise Lily paper collection and cut a mat just slightly smaller than the solid portion on the card front, and a second mat for the inside of the card just slightly smaller than the inside base, allowing a white border from the card base to show.   Locate two of the same 5"x7" card panels with the lily images as shown on oval on front of card.  Trim out the oval image from one premade card panel and using a black marker ink first part of sentiment, stamp, clean and add second part of sentiment as shown.  Trim down the other matching card panel to be slightly smaller than the inside mat you've just cut from the pink patterned paper.  Ink all edges of all pieces with a brown colored ink.  Adhere pieces to card base as shown.  Next locate the striped patterned paper with decorative lace work and lilies.  Trim a piece just slightly smaller than the pink mat on the front of the card.  Ink all edges with  brown ink and adhere to card front.  Using white card stock, die cut the decorative oval.  Adhere trimmed preprinted oval panel to die cut.  Align the preprinted oval for the front of the card to cover and match the oval in the inside of the card when card is closed.  Mark the decorative portion on the decorative oval that you will need to trim away to make this work, not allowing it to overlap onto the decorative cut on the card base.  Trim decorative oval.  Adhere to card front.  Using white card stock and black ink, stamp the vase and bouquet images.  Color using distress markers and die cut using coordinating dies.  Shape the vase and bouquet slightly with deluxe flower shaping kit.   Add bouquet to vase and adhere to card front using pop dots.  Using your finger tip, apply Stickles to the flower arrangement, vase, as well as the background lilies on the preprinted card panels both inside and on card front.
