Tidings of Comfort & Joy...

Welcome!
I'm so glad you've had a chance to pop by my blog today, just before Christmas!
We're just a few days away...are you ready?
I have to admit that I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit over the holiday season and having a bit of a less hectic schedule.

Seeing it's Wednesday...you know what that means!
It's a Heartfelt Creations posting day!

I decided to post a Christmas card that I created for classes that I taught in November.
You may have caught a glimpse of it in the class advertisement.
I decided that I would share it on the Heartfelt Creations blog and share the instructions with everyone as well...you never know if you all of a sudden have a last minute card to create because someone was accidentally forgotten.

Here's a peek at the card...

This is a super fast card to make, and the addition of the glitter just brings it up a notch!
I've done some layering with pop dots to give it a touch of dimension as well.

I've also completed the inside of this card.
Here's a peek on how it has been finished...

I've done some more layering with pop dots on the inside as well as some more glittering.
I've added just a simple candle stamp impression to tie off the front and inside of the creation, and have still left some room for a handwritten holiday message.

Well, that's all for me today!
I do hope you stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see some more wonderful creations made just for your viewing pleasure.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and are filled with God's peace and joy as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour...and all the best in the coming year!

Until next time...

For full instructions on how to shape the Sparkling Poinsettia flower, please see video here.

Create a white card stock base measuring 6" x 6".  Cut out the square premade card panel from the paper collection featuring the candle image as shown.  Using a black ink, stamp the sentiment from the Sparkling Poinsettia Candle Cling Stamp Set in the upper corner and set aside to dry.  Locate the red and white decorative strips in the paper collection and cut to fit across the top of the card as well as another piece for the bottom.  Fussy cut a straight strip of poinsettias and leaves from the paper collection.  Ink all edges of all pieces including the card front panel using a brown colored ink. Adhere strips to card panel. Die cut the Spellbinders Wonderful Locket die using white card stock, and adhere to bottom corner where poinsettia will be placed.    Adhere the fussy cut poinsettia images using 3D pop dots slightly off to the side of the candle image.  Adhere to card front.

Stamp one inking of the Large Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using black ink.  Color using sponge daubers or distress ink tool using the Memento Rhubarb Stalk and Vintage Photo Distress inks until you have reached the desired color intensity.  Color the leaves in the same manner using  Memento Bamboo Leaves.  Die cut flower and leaves using the coordinating die.  Shape using a light spritz of water and your flower shaping tools.  Adhere flower and leaves over top the popped up poinsettia images and locket die cut . Using the Art Institute Glue - Dries Clear and the fine metal glue tip, run along the veins of the flower petals.  Sprinkle with Transparent Copper Kettle Glitter Ritz.  Using a Zig 2 Way Glue Pen, add a touch of adhesive onto the petals of the poinsettias printed onto the paper surrounding the candle. Sprinkle with Glitter Ritz.  Apply Glossy Accents to the dripping wax on the candle, and Xmas Red Stickles to the berries printed on the patterned paper and set aside to dry.

Inside of Card: Locate and cut out the square premade card panel featuring the triple poinsettia grouping running along the bottom. Ink all edges with a brown colored ink.  Mask off the area you do not wish to have your stamped image appear on with washi tape.  Using black ink, stamp the candle image off to the side in the white open space.  Set aside to dry.  Locate the decorative green and white strip as well as the Merry Christmas sentiment strip.  Trim to fit the inside card panel and ink all edges with brown colored ink. Adhere to card as shown.  Fussy cut one of the corner poinsettia images from the paper collection and ink all edges with the brown colored ink.  Adhere to top corner of card opposite candle image using 3D pop dots.  Adhere to card base.  Using the Zip 2 Way Glue Pen, apply some glue to various parts on the poinsettias on the card and sprinkle with Glitter Ritz.  Apply the Xmas Red Stickles to the berries printed on the designer paper.  Allow to dry.
