Burst of Spring Sympathy Card...

Have you seen the new Burst of Spring Collection from Heartfelt Creations?
Come on in to my craft room, and let's have a look at this newest collection which
has stolen my heart!

For as long as I have been with Heartfelt Creations, I have secretly been hoping they would come out with a pansy collection...and now they have...and believe me, it does not disappoint!

This collection is absolutely perfect for every occasion, and I was super excited to use it for a Facebook LIVE.
I opted to design a Sympathy Card because so often people tell me that they have such trouble creating a sympathy card....but this design could easily be switched out for any occasion just by changing the sentiment!

So, the whole project started with this gorgeous piece of paper from the Burst of Spring Paper Collection!

 Burst of Spring Paper Collection

I cut it down to size to fit a 5" x 7" card base making sure I could use the top corner image for the card base. I then trimmed out that pretty strip with the decorative florals around it because I thought it was perfect for displaying the sentiment.

...here's a peek at how this Facebook LIVE project turned out...

If you're interested in a full video walk through...you can watch the LIVE replay here.

The pretty lace like die cuts that I've used as layering pieces come from one of the pocket accents die, and are so gorgeous when used as die cut elements...using them this way allows you more versatility for all of your decorative dies...they are perfect as pockets, as well as embellishment pieces.

A little mistake or "boo boo" along the way gave me the idea to add a third petal piece to the large pansy in the top floral cluster, as well as the mid sized pansy in the bottom floral cluster. They turn out looking like the larger pansies that you sometimes see in the garden.

Those gorgeous pansy sprays provide the perfect layering piece for your shaped pansies and foliage. The pansy shaping mold makes creating those beauties so quick and easy!

...and here's a close up of those gorgeous pansies...

A sprinkling of glitter and the card was completed!
Fast and easy...but with beautiful results...at least I hope you think so!

...as you can see by the photo below, I've really been enjoying playing around with the Burst of Spring Collection...

Over the next few weeks, I'll add each card separately in a blog post with full instructions with more photos for you!

Thanks so much for joining me during the LIVE, watching the replay, or just stumbling across this blog post and taking the time to check out this gorgeous collection!

Until next time...
Project Supplies and Instructions

Other Products: paper trimmer, BigShot die cutting machine, scissors, dimensional foam tape, yellow prills

Create a 5" x 7" card base from white card stock. Locate designer paper sheet from Burst of Spring Paper Collection shown at beginning of blog post. Trim down decorative paper making sure to include top corner image to fit card base. Trim sentiment panel from bottom of page measuring to make sure it fits across card base as shown. Ink all edges of card base mat using Ranger Archival Ink - Deep Purple and Stack and Store Dauber. Adhere mat to card base.

Using Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black, stamp sentiment onto sentiment panel.

Die cut two of the decorative pocket die cuts shown from the Decorative Pocket Accents Die.
Adhere one to top of sentiment panel, and one to bottom. Using scissors, trim to make all ends flush. Add dimensional foam tape to sentiment panel and adhere to card base.

Stamp two inkings of the Delicate Pansy Sprays onto white card stock using Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black. Stamp three inkings of each of the pansy petal sizes as well as leafy foliage onto white card stock using Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black. Color all foliage using Stack and Store Dauber and Ranger Archival Ink - Olive.  Color all pansy centers with Ranger Archival Ink - Sunflower, around yellow centers with Ranger Achival Ink - Forget -Me-Not, and finish off petal tips with Ranger Archival Ink - Deep Purple, blending the purple into the blue color. Color accent flowers on pansy sprays using Ranger Archival Ink - Cactus Flower. Die cut all images using coordinating dies.

Shape pansy sprays slightly using Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.
Adhere one spray to top of card, and one to bottom of card as shown.

Place leafy foliage and pansy petals into 3D Pansy Shaping Mold. Spritz with water slightly and run mold through die cutting machine. Assemble one large pansy, two mid sized pansies and two small pansies. Selecting from extra pansy petals, adhere one mid sized petal piece to large pansy to give it some extra added dimension. Take one small pansy petal piece and add it to one mid sized pansy to give it extra added dimension. Set aside to dry.

Create pansy clusters on top and bottom of card as shown.

Take one of the large horizontal pansy pieces and snip it in half. Roll one of the pieces to create a pansy bud. Glue to keep shape. Now roll second piece of petal around first and use a small amount of glue to keep shape. Add to top pansy cluster.

Using a dries clear adhesive, apply Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter, and prills to flower centers.

Hello Tracey. I love your card and the collection.
Hopefully, "my" shop here has ordered these for me.
It is too expensive to order from US.
Have a nice day my friend.
Hugs Lene
