Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening depending on where you might be!
Welcome to Today's Beautiful Moments, Tomorrows Beautiful Memories!
I just love that sentiment as it holds so much truth...especially for us crafty scrapbookers or cardmakers! I loved it so much so, that I chose it for my blog name! LOL
Today is the new release at Heartfelt Creations, and with this collection we are celebrating "Everyday Heros". Isn't that what preserving beautiful moments and turning them into lasting memories on paper is all about?
Let's begin by learning a little about this fantastic collection!
Do you have an unsung hero in your life? Your champion may never have a medal pinned to his or her chest, but you can demonstrate your gratitude with the Everyday Heroes Collection from Heartfelt Creations. These epic stamps, dies and papers salute the extraordinary "ordinary people" who inspire us as they live their daily lives with honor and integrity. Greys, teals, khakis, creams and browns have been blended with distressed newsprint, vintage maps, globes, sailing ships, timepieces, combat boots, stripes, dots and flourishes to create a rugged, paper collection that is timeless in its appeal. Six deeply etched cling stamp sets featuring detailed collages, inspiring sentiments and unique circular elements mesh perfectly with the paper collection and matching set of dies. Let's sing the praises of the unsung heroes in our lives with the Everyday Heroes Collection from Heartfelt Creations!

When I sat down and started thinking about everyday heros, I found that I caught myself thinking about friends, family and people that I cross paths with on a daily basis. You can find a reason for all of them to be classified as an everyday hero. We also have heros such as firefighters, military and police officers who are real life heros who put their lives on the line for others everyday.
This collection can be used in so many different ways and is perfect for those masculine cards and layouts!
For the debut of this new release, I decided that I would do a scrapbook page featuring our son!
This little man is a hero to me! He wears his heart on his sleeve, is kind to everyone and really lives life large. He's happy go lucky and has a heart of gold. I can't wait to see all of the plans God has for him!
Allow me to share my creation with you...
The colors in this collection are just breathtaking!
When I saw the ship stamp and the anchor die cut, I knew that I wanted to do a fishing photo of our son! This was taken on a local lake just as the sun was setting and the clouds in the background were just so stunning that evening.
I had also come across a cut file in the Silhouette Design Store with the wonderful saying that I thought would be beautiful with the theme of the page.
Let's take a closer look at some of the elements on the page...
...and how about a close up of how I distressed some of the letters in the saying as well as the sentiment pieces from the collection to make them look like metal covered with a touch of rust...
...how about a peek at three of the die cuts cut with the dies included in the collection...
the arrow, anchor and gorgeous die which reminds me of a compass drawing on a map (I've also used this one under the sentiments in black patterned paper from the collection)...
I've done a ton of distressing here on this layout to give it a weathered and sea worthy look.
I've also used some of the stamps included in the collection to stamp onto the background paper to give it an aged look as well. This is a subtle technique, but does add to the interest of the piece when your eye slowly wanders from place to place taking in all the small details.
Of course there's also lots of inking with brown ink to make everything look weathered and worn.
I love how the anchor turned out...it was die cut with black card stock and then I've added a layer of black metallic Ferro as well as the same medium in a rust color. This product leaves a rough and textured feel to wherever it's applied.
Lastly, here's a close up of the beautiful ship stamp...
I've stamped it in a very light black ink. I just wanted it to be a subtle stamping so I didn't ink my stamp too perfectly. I chose not to color the image because I felt it was stunning in this layout just as it appears!
I hope I've been able to inspire you to create a project of your own with this collection!
Be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog to see what the other amazing designers have come up with to inspire you this week!
Until next time...

Other Products Used: scor tape, black card stock, VersaColor Pine Cone Ink, Stampin Up Basic Black ink, Stampin Up decorative metal hardware - 6 brads, 2 decorative clasps, 3D pop dots, twine, Ranger distress tool, Big Shot manual die cutting machine, Silhouette Cameo electronic die cutting machine, Silhouette Design Store sentiment cutting file, Ferro Metal Effect Texture Paint - Copper & Iron
Choose a 12"x12" brown colored patterned paper from the Everyday Heros Collection that you wish to use as the background to your project. Distress all edges using a distress tool, and then ink all edges with brown colored ink. Locate the 12"x12" designer paper with the turquoise map design and the boots in the bottom corner with the setiment "We Will Always Remember". Cut down slightly smaller than the brown background sheet. Distress this paper as well, and again ink all edges in brown. Apply scor tape to the smaller layout page, not directly on the edges as you will want the page to stand off the other page slightly to add to the weathered and distressed effect. Adhere the smaller distressed page to the background page, leaving one bottom corner not adhered so you are able to roll the corner as pictured. Apply scrapbook layout to a black card stock for backing, allowing the black card stock to peek through the portions of the distressing where the page has torn slightly. Choose 3 designer papers from within the paper pack to use to mat your 4"x6" photo. Once you have cut one mat from each paper, ink all edges with brown and adhere photo and mats together with scor tape. Set aside photo for now. Using the Everyday Hero Newsprint Cling stamp and black ink, stamp lightly on the top left hand corner opposite of where the die cut sentimet will be applied. Do a second stamping just above the bottom corner that has been rolled. Using the arrow stamp as well as the "You Inspire Me" sentiment, stamp the arrow with the sentiment inside on the top corner where the die cut sentiment will be applied. Moving back to the paper collection, locate the blank square card panel pictured, prepare for stamping by masking and then stamp the ship image lightly in black. Distress the card panel and roll the top left corner. Ink all edges with brown ink. Adhere to layout. Locate a small pre made card panel that has a blank centre and distress and ink all edges. Apply in the top corner area where you have stamped the newsprint, allowing part of the newsprint to still be exposed. Now adhere photo to layout as well, allowing only the "Remember" portion of the pre printed sentiment on the bottom of the paper to be seen. Locate the anchor paper strip in the collection and cut to the size you wish to have peeking through on the layout. Ink all edges with brown in and adhere beside the ship card panel. Also adhere a piece of the anchor strip above the card panel with the stamped ship image. Die cut the ornate die shape using the light teal printed paper in the collection. Stamp the "You Make The World A Better Place" circular sentiment onto the die cut. Die cut the round coordinating shape in a light cream colored card stock and stamp the "You Inspire Me" sentiment onto it. Using small 3D pop dots, adhere the smaller circular image to the ornate die cut. Place a brad through the holes on the top and the bottom of the ornate die cut. Ink the pieces in a brown color. Stamp and die cut two arrow shapes. Ink with brown colored ink and then apply to top corner of layout where you have stamped the newspaper print and have adhered the small pre made card panel, using 3D pop dots on arrows being sure to stagger them slightly. Then adhere the ornate die cut shape over top of the arrows. Die cut the anchor and adhere to layout beside the ornate die cut as shown. Die cut a second ornate die cut using a piece of the black printed designer paper in the collection. Add brads to the top and bottom holes as previously done on the first die cut. Adhere to layout beside the photo and just under the ship image. Fussy cut a tag from the paper collection , ink all edges and tie a piece of cream twine through the hole. Adhere to layout as shown. Locate the small postal stamp images featuring the ship and anchor, fussy cut and ink. Adhere in a staggered manner on top of tag. Fussy cut a ticket stub sentiment and place in the small area of the bottom corner where the page has been rolled up. Cut out three of the rectangular sentiments in the paper collection, ink and then add to layout as shown. Die cut the large sentiment file using your electronic die cutting machine using black card stock. Adhere to layout. Now adhere metal buckle hardware to top corner, and a metal pin to bottom as shown. For the final step, using your finger, apply Ferro Metallic paints to the anchor, some of the letters in the large sentiment, on the rectangle sentiment strips and on areas of the layout edges itself to give it a metal, rusty and weathered feel. You are now ready to display your layout in a beautiful frame and enjoy!
