Announcing the Winter's Eve Collection...

Welcome to my blog!
I'm so glad you're here!
What have you been up to lately?
As I schedule this post we are in the midst of a crazy heat wave and there are severe thunderstorm warnings and heat warnings all over the place!
It's kinda humorous to be working on Christmas cards during all this summer heat!  LOL

As you know, it's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
This week we're releasing the new Winter's Eve Collection!
It's another beautiful winter/holiday assembling!

Here's a little more about it...

Celebrate the more simple side of the holiday season, and add a touch of nostalgia and wonder to all of your holiday themed greeting cards, scrapbook layouts and altered art pieces with the new Winter’s Eve Collection by Heartfelt Creations. Reminisce Christmas blessings from years gone by with a tranquil collection featuring an array of illustrations bringing back memories of silent nights by candlelight, choir voices resonating from the little church in the wildwood, woodland creatures foraging for food beneath the glistening snow, windows illuminated with the soft glow of a warming fireplace, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees ready to engage the imagination and excitement of little boys and girls eager to see what lies beneath them on Christmas morning! A charming and peaceful paper collection delivering a color palette of icy blues, pine greens, poinsettia pinks, berry reds and frosty whites filled with decorative elements including delicate swirls, subtle checks, bold stripes, dainty florals and lace like accents will whisk you away to a peaceful winter wonderland overwhelming your heart with the comfort and joy of the season! Three wintry themed cling stamp sets along with coordinating dies bring a further touch of simplicity to the season with bouquets of petite flowers and foliage, an old fashioned sled and a window frame with dimensional box ideal for creating warm and inviting scenes featuring a beautifully illustrated candle arrangement, Christmas tree or glowing fireplace. Three intricate and ornamental dies lend themselves beautifully to creating breathtaking decorative die cuts for accenting all of your winter wishes. Come along with us as we set the scene for a tranquil winter’s eve and a happy holiday season!

I chose to use the small window box die cut on my first card featuring this pretty collection.
I thought a winter floral box would be so adorable paired up with one of the pre printed card images featuring a glowing fireplace and the window die cut.

Here's how the project turned out...

I've used a 6"x6" preprinted card panel as the base for this creation.  I've added some VersaMark ink to the edges and then added a mixture of embossing powder and glitter and then sprinkled it on and heat embossed it giving the card and aged look with some texture!

Here's a closer look at the dimension of the piece...

I think a window box idea is such a unique and different element to add to a Christmas card, don't you?  It's sure to stand out among the rest of the cards received during the holiday season!
I love those snow covered branches mixed with just a few of the last florals remaining after a first snow fall!

I added several of the smaller Sparkling Poinsettias to complete the look as I wanted to tie in the poinsettia background images.  And, of course I couldn't resist having a bird sitting nearby being such the bird lover I am!

...and here's another close up view...

Isn't that fireplace scene so cool in the window?
I didn't have time to color the stamped image of the scene, so I opted to use one of the premade card panels which made it quick and easy to get that look of peeking inside from the outdoors!

Well, that's all for me today!
I hope you've enjoyed the project I've shared with you today!
Be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to take in the amazing projects the rest of the design team have created!

Take care, and enjoy getting a jump on all of your holiday creating!

Until next time...

Learn how to shape the Sparkling Poinsettia here

Instructions: Create a 6"x6" card base using a white card stock. Locate 6"x6" premade card panel shown on sample in Festive Holly Paper Collection. Ink all edges with a light brown colored ink. Using a VersaMark ink pad, ink around edges and into card front and sprinkle with a mixture of vintage embossing powder and glitter. Heat emboss with heat tool and then adhere to card front. Next locate smaller premade card panel within paper collection that features the indoor fireplace scene. Ink all edges with a soft brown colored ink and apply to center of card front with dimensional pop dots. Die cut the window frame using white card stock, as well as one decorative window topper embellishment and the window box. Use window filler die cut to cut out center of window box and adhere sentiment from paper collection into die cut opening. Ink all edges lightly with a brown colored ink on all window embellishments. Adhere to card base. Stamp one inking of the small poinsettia cling stamp set, the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set as well as the holly and berry with cardinal illustration from the Festive Holly Collection and several flower and branch illustrations from the Window Box Fillers Cling Stamp Set with a black ink onto white card stock. Die cut using coordinating dies and then color using Stack and Store Daubers. Shape all elements with flower shaping tools and create window scene as shown on card front. Using a dries white glue, adhere frosting powder to branches, window box and poinsettias. Heat set with a heat tool. Adhere prills to poinsettia centers using a dries clear glue and add yellow stickles to flower centers in flower box arrangement.
