A Gift of Love...

Notice: It has come to my attention that Blogger has been having some technical difficulties and it would seem that my blog has been affected by one of the glitches involving comments.  In the recent fix, comments are now able to be left by a viewer if you open the blog post you are reading...from there a comment box will open at the very end of that particular blog page.  So sorry for the confusion!  Hopefully Blogger will have this sorted out quickly and normal operations will resume.  Thanks for understanding!

Welcome Back!
It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
I'm back to share with you another holiday themed project with the "Celebrate the Season" Collection!

Have you started working on your Christmas cards already?
Well, hopefully you will become inspired after today's post, head on into your craft area, turn on the Christmas carols and start creating!

Allow me to share with you this week's creation...

I love the color palette of this collection.  It's so different than the traditional red and green.
I wanted to make this card super dimensional and interactive so I decided I would do a cut out on the card front, create some vellum flowers and embellish with the some lovely pieces from the Arianna Lace Die collection .

I've married together two of the several small printed image panels you will find within the Celebrate the Season Collection to create the background for the card base.  I've die cut the mitten image from one of the premade card panels and have popped it up on the inside of the card.

The large poinsettias come from last years "Sparkling Poinsettias" collection and work together so beautifully with this new collection.  I've stamped the flower images onto vellum and then heat embossed them with teal embossing powder.  I've colored them with various shades of purple, shaped them and then assembled.  I've given them centers using clear microbeads.

I've also die cut some of the snowflake like shapes from the Arianna Lace dies and have used them behind all of the poinsettia clusters.  I've used the Cut Mat Create 1B Die to create the banner for the Merry Christmas sentiment which I've stamped in a purple color.

Here's a closer look at some of the detailing...

...and here's a little bit of a closer look at one of the vellum flowers...

...and of course because the front portion of the card has been die cut, the inside needed to be finished as well...

Well, that's my share for today!
Do stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog for more wonderful holiday inspiration!

Until next time...

Watch this video for shaping tips and techniques on the Sparkling Poinsettia flowers.

Begin by creating a 6"x6" card base using white card stock.  Within the paper collection, locate and trim the purple square preprinted card panel with the poinsettias in the corner, and on the same decorative paper the image panel with the sleigh. Ink all edges with a teal ink.  Adhere full card panel to card base and overlap with sleigh image panel as shown.  Using the Spellbinders Circle dies, die cut a mid sized circle into the card base.  Locate the preprinted card panel with the mittens image, trim and die cut with a slightly smaller circle die being sure to keep mittens as your focal point.  Ink edges using a teal ink.  Trim out the preprinted background from within the paper collection showcasing the skates and mittens, ink the edges using a teal ink and adhere to inside of card.  Using pop dots, adhere circular mitten image to card centered in opening on card base.  Using a sheet of vellum, stamp several inkings of the poinsettias from the Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set and heat emboss using a teal colored embossing powder.  Layer purple hues lightly onto vellum flowers, die cut and gently shape using flower shaping tools. Create two larger double blossom flowers and one small double blossom flower.  Add clear seed beads to centers.  Using white card stock and your die cutting machine, cut two snowflake like cuts from the Arianna Blooms Die collection along with two swirls, as well as one arrow from the Cut Mat Create 1B collection.  Adhere snowflake like cuts to card base where flower clusters will be layered.  Adhere flowers as shown, along with swirl die cuts to bottom flower cluster.   Stamp sentiment onto arrow die cut using purple ink and ink all edges teal.  Adhere to bottom flower cluster.  Stamp skate image along with gift image using black ink onto white card stock, then color using blendable pencils and gamasol solution.  Cut using coordinating dies and shape slightly using shaping tools.  Tuck into upper flower cluster as shown.  Apply glitter to all preprinted poinsettias on decorative paper as well as die cut swirls.
